Chapter 70: Stay Away from Him
We soon arrived at a hot spring area. The place was filled with decorative rocks, creating a peaceful and secluded atmosphere. We could hear bursts of laughter from time to time, but the privacy was excellent—we couldn't see anyone around.
Serenity stayed close by my side, looking around curiously.
I handed her a swimsuit and said, "I'm not sure if this is the style you like. Try it on first, and if you don't like it, we can buy another one."
"No need, this is perfect."
Serenity took the swimsuit and went into the changing room. After I changed and came out, she had also put on the pale yellow swimsuit.
Serenity had delicate skin, and the pale yellow swimsuit showed off her great figure perfectly.
Seeing my eyes lingering on her, Serenity crossed her arms over her chest, a bit embarrassed, and said, "Helena, does this suit not look right on me?"
I shook my head and smiled, reaching out to take her hand. "Of course not. I just didn't expect you to look so beautiful in it. Honestly, I'm stunned."
I wasn't making this up. The thin swimsuit clung to Serenity's body, showing off her figure completely. Her long legs were especially eye-catching.
Hearing me say this, Serenity finally relaxed. "Thank you so much for today, Helena."
"Why thank me? We're family, aren't we?"
I took Serenity's hand and led her to meet up with Knox. In the hot spring pool, Knox was lounging lazily. The moment he saw us arrive, he looked up, and his eyes naturally fell on Serenity.
I knew it—a beauty like Serenity would definitely be irresistible to Knox.
Sure enough, Knox's gaze was fixed on Serenity and didn't move away.
Serenity noticed Knox's gaze, met his eyes, and gave him a shy smile.
Seeing this, I patted Knox and said, "Well, Serenity has a nice figure, doesn't she?"
"She really does."
As soon as the words left his mouth, Knox snapped back to reality. He quickly looked at me and said, "Helena, you look great too. This red swimsuit really suits you."
I smiled. "Alright, I know you're sweet-talking me."
I walked over to the fruit area, but found there were no cherries, which I usually liked to eat.
I frowned. "You two chat for a bit. I'm going to have someone bring some cherries."
Before either of them could react, I got up and headed outside.
I walked quickly, deliberately ignoring Knox's voice calling after me.
I did it on purpose—deliberately creating some alone time for Knox and Serenity.
I hoped this Serenity wouldn't disappoint me.
I stayed in the lounge area, finishing a whole bottle of drink before slowly getting up and heading back to the hot spring.
Before I even got close, I heard some commotion. The voice sounded familiar—it seemed to be Natasha's voice.
What was she doing here?
I instantly got excited.
"Natasha, don't do this!"
"What? Knox, are you defending this tramp now, too?"
When I walked in, I saw Natasha pulling at Serenity, while Knox stood beside Serenity, trying to stop Natasha.
"Natasha, what are you doing here?"
Seeing me appear, Natasha snorted coldly at me. "Your fiancé is about to be seduced away by this tramp, and you don't even care. You just keep eating and drinking."
"What do you mean by that?"
I put down the cherries and jumped into the water, splashing Natasha with a huge wave.
She screamed and brushed the water off herself. "Helena, what are you doing!"
"Sorry, Natasha, I didn't mean to."
I crossed my arms and looked her up and down. "But if you're here for the hot spring, why didn't you change into a swimsuit? What are you doing?"
Then I looked at Serenity and said, as if suddenly understanding, "Don't tell me you followed us here on purpose?"
"What are you talking about!"
Natasha shook the water droplets from her hair and said angrily, "A friend invited me here. Unlike you three—you actually let your fiancé keep another woman company."
Seeing Natasha deliberately trying to stir up conflict between us, I wasn't going to fall for it.
I smiled. "Natasha, you're really reading too much into this."
"I was only gone for the time it takes to get some fruit, and you're making it sound so terrible. But Natasha, where's this friend of yours? I don't see anyone."
Seeing me turn the question back on her, Natasha stammered, "My friend—why should I report to you?"
Then she pointed at Serenity righteously. "Knox is Helena's fiancé. You tramp, stay away from him!"
"I didn't, I..."
Serenity looked at me anxiously. "Helena, Knox, and I really have nothing going on. Please believe us."
I smiled coldly. In just this short time, Serenity's way of addressing Knox had changed from Mr. Pemberton to Knox. That was quite a fast development.
Knox was the first to notice something wrong with what Serenity said. He coughed and said to Natasha, "You should go."
"Kicking me out, huh? Fine, Knox, you're ruthless. I'm keeping score of this!"
Natasha pointed her finger at Knox and Serenity, then stood up and left.
After she left, Knox quickly explained to me, "Helena, Natasha rushed over and tried to hit Serenity just now. I had no choice but to step in and protect her. Please don't overthink it."
I nodded. "It's fine. Natasha has always been a bit impulsive."
Then I looked at Serenity. "Serenity, are you okay?"
Serenity shook her head, hugging her shoulders weakly and helplessly, like a flower battered by wind and rain.
This delicate appearance really stirred up a man's protective instincts. Even I felt moved watching her, let alone Knox. I could see Knox had no chance of escaping Serenity's grasp.
"Helena."
She looked at me with tears in her eyes. "I want to go back. Can we go home?"
I nodded. "Sure, let's go."
I got up and left with her.
Out of the corner of my eye, I saw Knox following behind with his head down, looking unhappy.
Soon we reached home. After dropping Serenity off, Knox drove me back to my place.
At my doorstep, I deliberately gave Knox a few words of advice.
"Knox, Uncle John's household is in chaos right now. Whether it's Serenity or Natasha, they're both Uncle John's daughters. Even I try to stay out of their family affairs. If you run into either of them again in the future, try to avoid them if you can, so Natasha doesn't hold a grudge."
