Chapter 55 Won't Watch the Business Succeed
Knox's POV
What happened at Calliope's party yesterday caught me completely off guard. The argument between Juno and Helena really surprised me.
Juno is so arrogant and domineering - she's definitely not the kind of woman I want to marry.
If I were to marry anyone, it should be someone obedient like Helena.
Calliope is too shrewd. If I married Juno, the Pemberton family might gradually get taken over by Calliope and Juno.
I used to avoid Juno, but she just kept chasing after me relentlessly.
I'm fine with just fooling around, but we agreed from the start that neither of us would interfere with the other's life.
But I never expected Juno would get into a conflict with Helena.
And Helena's performance at Calliope's house this time really shocked me.
What's going on? Helena, whom I always thought was so obedient, actually fought back and made both Calliope and Juno look bad.
Beyond my surprise, I felt more suspicious about Helena's change.
My plan to have her introduce me to Joseph fell completely flat. She just left with Joseph directly, leaving me standing there like an idiot.
That move left me stunned. Since when did Helena stop caring about my feelings?
I was furious, but there was nothing I could do. I could only watch helplessly as Helena and Joseph left together.
After they left, Juno came pestering me again, which disgusted me.
Women are fine to play around with, but if anyone dares to mess up my plans, I don't care who they are - it won't fly.
For the company's future development, I must connect with Joseph, but right now, what's more urgent is making things right with Helena.
Fortunately, Helena is still pretty easy to please. I bought bags full of stuff and brought them to The Lockwood Manor. Maria greeted me with a smile, and seeing nothing unusual, I felt relieved.
After Helena woke up, I quickly smoothed things over with a few words.
When I heard she was going to visit Rosalind, I wanted to show my support and go along, but then I saw Helena get into an argument with her family.
This discovery really surprised me. Is this still the Helena I know?
But I know a bit about what started it, and honestly, it's connected to me.
It was because of the stuff Natasha sold that this conflict occurred in the Lockwood family.
But I couldn't show any guilt. On the way back, I said a few words to her just for show, but when I invited Helena to my house, she refused.
I could clearly sense Helena's resistance to my family.
Only then did it dawn on me - without me noticing, Helena had quietly changed. She'd become somehow different.
To test Helena, I deliberately got close to her, and sure enough, she got angry.
But the reason she gave was something I couldn't argue with. Luckily, she mentioned the wedding, which put my mind at ease.
Maybe I'm just nervous because of my guilty conscience, but with only a week left until the wedding, I believe nothing else will go wrong.
With that thought, I let Helena go home.
After I got back, I soon received a call from Natasha.
I knew Natasha would call me, because just now at the hospital, when she saw me appear with Helena, her expression changed completely.
Afraid she'd cause trouble, I gave her several looks before she settled down.
But at this moment, after Helena's teasing, my whole body was burning with desire. Natasha's call came at the perfect time.
"Meet at the usual place."
After hanging up, I rushed to the hotel impatiently.
I had just finished showering when Natasha arrived, panting.
As soon as I saw her, I couldn't hold back anymore. I grabbed her and threw her onto the couch.
Natasha let out a scream, laughing and hitting me, "Are you crazy, Knox? What are you doing? Why so eager? What's wrong? Didn't get any action with Helena?"
I impatiently tore at her clothes, kissing her body randomly while mumbling, "Don't even mention it."
"Besides, Helena doesn't have half your appeal!"
I quickly stripped off all her clothes, and seeing her sexy naked body, I couldn't hold back anymore. With a roar, I dove down and started thrusting hard.
Instantly, the room filled with the smell of sex.
Natasha was so sexy that I went three rounds before finally surrendering.
Afterward, we lay on the couch holding each other, inevitably talking about the Lockwood family situation.
"This time, with the personnel changes at the Lockwood Group, the people I planted actually got exposed. That really caught me off guard." Natasha frowned, clearly unhappy.
"Don't worry." I grabbed her soft breast and squeezed it hard.
"Take it slow, stay calm. We still have people there who haven't been cleared out yet, right?"
Natasha snorted coldly, "I just didn't expect that even after you made those calls, that bitch Helena would think to find manufacturers in other cities."
I sighed, "True, Helena really surprised me this time too."
"Knox, what do we do next?"
I stroked Natasha's smooth back and said calmly, "No rush. Now's not the time to panic. There's still half a month until delivery to Atlas. We still have time."
That bastard Atlas - with so many manufacturers available, he specifically chose the Lockwood Group. He's clearly after Helena.
I won't just stand by and watch them close this deal!
