Chapter 200 The Result of the Blind Date

Chapter 200 The Result of the Blind Date

"Okay!"

Kenneth hurried to press the elevator button. Watching how he and Quincy interacted, I finally felt relieved.

Quincy wasn't someone who made trouble for no reason, and with Kenneth genuinely caring for her like a sister, over time they would become a real family.

We soon arrived at the restaurant. This was Quincy's and my favorite place to eat privately - Kenneth had clearly done his homework.

I could tell from Quincy's expression that she was very satisfied. When we walked into the restaurant together, two men were already waiting. The moment they saw us, both men quickly stood up.

They raised their hands in greeting, "Mr. Blake."

As they spoke, their eyes casually landed on Quincy. I immediately understood - this meal probably had a real purpose that only Quincy herself didn't know about.

"Let me introduce you. This is Ulysses Gray, heir to the Gray Group, and this is Daryl Fields, general manager of the Fields Group."

After introducing the two men, Kenneth gestured to Quincy and me, "This is my sister Quincy, and her good friend, Helena."

"Pleased to meet you."

Daryl, who was closest, politely pulled out the chair next to him. Quincy and I sat down, ending up face to face with Daryl and Ulysses.

Kenneth took the head seat. After the pre-arranged dishes were served and a bottle of red wine was opened, we ate and chatted.

The conversation ranged all over the place. Daryl was warm and enthusiastic while Ulysses was very gentlemanly, but I could tell they both seemed quite interested in Quincy.

But Quincy didn't seem to notice. She just went along with the conversation without showing any particular interest in either man, though at least the atmosphere was pretty good.

The meal ended with everyone happy.

When it was time to leave, Quincy and I declined Kenneth's offer to see us off, and the two of us slowly walked along the street.

"Quincy, what did you think of those two guys? I think they both seemed interested in you."

I probed carefully.

Hearing this, Quincy was clearly surprised. "Really? I didn't notice at all."

"Really! You just weren't paying attention. I saw it - when Kenneth mentioned you were single, both Daryl and Ulysses' eyes lit up."

"You're pretty observant. But they're not cartoon characters - eyes lighting up? Maybe their contact lenses were about to fall out?" Quincy said, laughing at her own joke.

"Seriously though, so which one do you like?"

Seeing I wouldn't let it go, Quincy thought for a moment. "I don't think I like either one. Mainly because I wasn't really looking."

"That won't do. I observed carefully for you - Ulysses is outgoing and easygoing, while Daryl is steady and reliable. They're both pretty good, just depends which type you prefer."

Seeing how serious I was, Quincy finally got a bit more serious too. "I really didn't notice. But just because you have a boyfriend now doesn't mean you should start pushing me. I'm not done having fun yet. Finding a boyfriend can wait until I'm ready."

Seeing Quincy didn't take this seriously at all, I was really worried.

I just hoped she could be this indifferent when facing Zachary.

"By the way, how are things with you and Mr. Lancaster?"

Hearing Quincy's question, I replied, "Pretty good, no problems. Things are sweet right now."

Hearing my response, Quincy teased, "Sweet, huh? Well that's good. What about Knox - is he still giving you trouble?"

I thought for a moment. "How should I put it - he might be getting pressured by Natasha to marry her."

"What happened? Come on, tell me more!"

Seeing Quincy's interest, I explained, "Well, you know Serenity is marrying into the Turner family, right? So Natasha has been making a fuss at home, worried that John will give Serenity more wedding gifts. Finally I suggested that Natasha and Serenity could get married at the same time, which would save a lot of trouble."

Hearing this, Quincy picked up where I left off. "So John agreed?"

I nodded. "Yes, he's at least tempted by the idea. But I know the Pemberton family won't easily agree to this marriage."

Quincy thought for a moment. "If those two awful people end up together, it's too good for them. But maybe it's better - at least they won't hurt other people. Do you have any way to push Knox and Natasha together?"

I shook my head. "I haven't thought of a good plan yet. I'll just have to take it one step at a time."

Quincy nodded. "But whether Knox and Natasha get married or not, at least it's not bad for you either way."

I continued, "Right, but I still hope they get married. Otherwise, how can we keep watching the drama unfold?"

"You're right. So we can keep watching the show, let's help push them together."

Quincy clapped her hands and laughed. "What can I do? Should I investigate Knox some more and personally deliver his dirt to Natasha?"

That was actually an idea, but after thinking about it, I said, "No rush. Let's wait and see how John reacts first. If we need to, I'll let you know."

"Okay."

As Quincy spoke, she suddenly spotted an ice cream shop on the street corner and hurried over to buy two ice creams. We sat right there on the street, eating our ice cream bite by bite.

I hadn't felt this relaxed in a long time. With a close friend by my side and good food in hand - heaven really had never let me down.

By the time Quincy and I parted ways, it was already late at night. We still had more to talk about, but thinking about work the next day, we had to say goodbye.

The next day at the company, the moment York saw me, he quietly followed me.

As soon as we entered the office, he closed the door and mysteriously watched the activity outside. "Ms. Lockwood, Ivan said he wants me to go with him today to visit clients."

I was surprised. "Isn't that a good thing?"

"It's good, but I just feel like something's off about him."

Hearing York's words, I got nervous too. "What's off?"

"It's like he's trying really hard to be ambitious and driven." York scratched his head, unable to explain clearly.

Hearing this, I was also confused. "Isn't being driven a good thing?"

"It's good, but for someone like Ivan, does he really need to try this hard?"

York's words reminded me of something - Ivan being driven and ambitious was fine, but what was he working toward? Surely, he didn’t intend to remain a salesman forever.
