Chapter 163 Farce

Chapter 164: Go to Apologize

Seeing that she had calmed down, I slowly told her the whole story from beginning to end.

"From the newspaper publishing about my date with Lucy at the start, to now Heath deliberately coming to the company to make a scene with that video of us two, I think someone's been deliberately causing trouble behind the scenes."

My words quickly made her understand. "You mean all this was Helena's doing?"

I nodded. "Yes, besides her, I really can't think of anyone else who would target us like this."

At this point, I asked, "During the last press conference, did anything happen on your end?"

As soon as I said this, Natasha's expression became very strange. I instantly understood that something must have gone wrong again.

"What exactly happened? Wasn't it agreed that if you went, you'd just honestly clarify things and not stir up trouble? What did you do?"

Hearing me say this, Natasha immediately became upset. "How can you blame me? If anyone's to blame, it's that bitch Helena. She forced me to do it. Whatever I did, it's all her fault!"

Seeing her being so stubborn, a bad feeling instantly rose in my heart.

"Briar, quickly pull up yesterday's entertainment news for me to see."

Hearing my shout, Briar at the front desk hurried over with a computer, showing yesterday's scene of Natasha's press conference.

Watching until the end, when Natasha knelt down, my anger shot straight to the top of my head.

"What were you doing? Who told you to do that?"

Seeing me yelling at her angrily, Natasha felt disrespected and said unhappily, "Why are you yelling? I didn't do anything wrong. I was just apologizing to Helena. What's worth all this shouting about?"

"You call that nothing? Now I finally understand why someone came to make trouble today. Turns out you, you idiot, messed everything up!"

I was so angry I was grinding my teeth. Natasha, this idiot!

How did I end up tied to such an idiot?

I paced back and forth angrily.

When Natasha decided to go clarify things at the press conference, John and I had already reached an agreement to avoid complications for now and do as Helena required. This was to ensure that Ivan, who was about to return to the country, could smoothly enter the Lockwood Group.

But this idiot Natasha had now ruined everything.

Not only did she mess things up, but she might very well drag me down with her.

Just as I thought this, my phone rang. After answering, it was Lucy calling.

"Mr. Pemberton, the legal department from the Lockwood Group called. They want to schedule a time to meet with you in person."

My worry had come true. I knew Helena's counterattack would be systematic, and she definitely wouldn't let me off easy!

Look, the debt collectors have come, haven't they?

Thinking this, my expression instantly turned cold. "Tell them I'll personally visit Mr. Lockwood tomorrow."

Lucy replied, "Yes."

Before I could even put away my phone, Natasha started yelling at me, "You're going to the Lockwood Group? What for? Are you going to see that bitch Helena?"

"Shut up!"

I snapped at her angrily. "The debt collectors are about to come knocking on my door. Can I not go deal with it?"

With that, I grabbed her hand and forcefully dragged her toward the car.

Natasha let out a shriek. "Knox, what are you doing? You're hurting me!"

This bitch Natasha - if it weren't for the fact that she still has some use, why would I have gotten engaged to her?

But this idiot has now messed everything up. Not only did she alert Helena, but she's made Helena come demanding payment again.

I know Helena's temper. This time she definitely won't compromise easily. Now I can only find John and have him help figure out a solution.

Ignoring Natasha's resistance, I dragged her straight into the car and drove to John's house.

After getting out of the car and entering the living room, John and Willow were very surprised to see Natasha and me.

Willow said, "What's going on? Did you two have a fight?"

"Mom."

Natasha walked over to Willow looking pitiful, nestled in her arms, pointed at me and complained, "It's all Knox. He won't let me settle the score with Lucy, and he's blaming me for messing up yesterday's press conference. What did I do wrong?"

Seeing her crying so pitifully, Willow said sympathetically, "Look at you two. Can't you talk things out nicely?"

Willow then looked at me and said, "Knox, Natasha is young and doesn't understand business matters, but her feelings for you are sincere. Those women around you - the ones that need to go should go, so Natasha won't be embarrassed. After all, she's your fiancée."

"I'll handle this matter, but Lucy and I really do have a purely professional relationship. It's all those reporters making things up."

Then I looked at John and said, "But wasn't it agreed that Natasha would cooperate properly at yesterday's press conference? Why did things change at the last minute?"

"It's because of this that we're now in a very passive position."

I then told them about someone coming to the company to make trouble today and the Lockwood Group's legal department demanding payment.

"Helena definitely won't let this go. I came today to discuss a strategy with Mr. Lockwood."

After I finished speaking, John sighed and said to Natasha, "Yesterday's incident was Natasha being willful. Early this morning, Henry also called asking me to explain."

I quickly asked, "So what do you mean?"

John let out a long sigh and spread his hands. "What can I do? At worst, we'll go apologize."

He could apologize to Henry, but I couldn't.

I looked at Natasha meaningfully. Today's incident was all caused by her. If we pushed Natasha out to take responsibility, would that calm this storm?

Thinking this, I said, "If you're going, please take Natasha and me along."

"I'm not going. Why should I go?"

Natasha directly refused.

Even at this point, she still showed no remorse. I was really furious.

"This happened because of you. If you don't go, how can we proceed with our next plans?"

Then I threatened in front of everyone, "You don't want your brother's entry into the Lockwood Group to fail, do you?"

Hearing this, John was the first to lose his composure. He frowned and said, "Knox is right. Right now, we can only bow our heads, admit our mistake, and beg for Helena's forgiveness."

Natasha angrily shouted, "Dad, you want us all to go apologize to Helena together? Are you crazy?"

"If I were crazy, I should tie you up and take you to see Helena. Look at what you've done - you ruined something that was going well. Do you still want Ivan to enter the company or not? Do you still want the Lockwood Group or not?"

After John's words, Natasha was instantly speechless.

"But you're asking me to apologize to that bitch Helena. I don't want to go."

Seeing Natasha still reluctant to go, John suddenly got anxious. "If you don't go, then don't call yourself my daughter anymore when you go out!"
