Chapter 10 Chapter 10

Chapter 10 Chapter 10
Amelia

I stood under the shower, letting the warm water wash over me. I sang loudly, completely lost in the moment, swaying and dancing like nobody was watching. Last night kept running through my mind, it had been the best night of my life. Not only did I get revenge for my friend, but I also had the most incredible sex I had ever experienced. Every touch, every kiss, every movement, it still lingered in my body, making me shiver.

I couldn’t stop thinking about him, about how strong and confident he was, about the way he made me feel. Part of me wished I didn’t have a plan, a reason to leave. I would have stayed for another round, maybe even more, if I could. But I had an agenda, and I couldn’t let that go.
I finally stepped out of the shower and wrapped a towel around myself. I hummed softly as I walked into my room, then I froze. Adele was sitting on my bed, just staring at me. I didn’t hear someone come in. My heart jumped, and I tried to step back, My foot slipped on the wet floor.

The towel slipped too. In an instant, I was completely exposed, everything on display.
Adele burst out laughing, clutching her stomach. “Girl, please cover those! They look like they have been worked on all night!” she said, dramatically shielding her eyes.

I gave her a sly, knowing smile, and her eyes went wide. “Wait,” she said, squinting at me.

“Don’t tell me after you asked Jake to take me home, and I was sitting there drowning in heartbreak, you were out there drilling some man? Who was it?”

I shrugged, still smiling. “Everything I did last night,” I said slowly, “I did for you.”

Her expression twisted in confusion. “Wait, how exactly does having a dick inside you and screaming all night help me?” she asked, raising an eyebrow.

I walked into my closet and changed into something simple and comfortable before stepping back out. “Because of this,” I said, holding up my phone.

I tapped the screen and showed her the pictures and videos from last night, each one playing the memory back in vivid detail.

Adele’s jaw dropped. “Girl! Why are you showing me videos and pictures from your escapades last night? And why were you moaning this loud?”

She leaned closer, eyes widening as she recognized the man in the footage. “Holy fuck! This is Maxwell Sinclair! He is Rhea’s husband! The girl Killian is sleeping with?” she exclaimed, staring at me in disbelief.

Her gaze sharpened, and I could tell she already knew I have been up to something.
“What did you do?” she asked, her tone a mix of awe and suspicion.

I smirked, keeping my expression casual. “Nothing much, baby,” I said. “I just got a little revenge for you, for making you sleep outside in the cold and cry all night.”

“How did you know?” she asked, her voice trembling slightly.

“I called Jake this morning to check up on you,” I said, keeping my tone calm. “He told me you sat outside on your patio and cried all night. He couldn’t leave you alone, so he just sat in his car, watching over you until morning.”

Tears welled up in her eyes. “Tell me, tell me what you did,” she whispered.

I held up my phone and showed her a picture I had posted right after leaving Maxwell’s house earlier that morning. I had made sure my face wasn’t visible, but his face was completely clear. I had even created a new Instagram account just to share it.

The moment I posted it, the picture started trending. The likes and comments came faster than anything I had ever seen. It wasn’t just attention, I had to lock my DMs because people were sending death threats. Apparently, trying to ruin their favorite celebrity’s marriage was something a lot of people took very seriously.

“What! They are actually trending,” Adele gasped as she scrolled through every blog carrying the story. Her eyes moved quickly over the headlines. “This is good, but they are blaming only Maxwell. They are making Rhea look like the innocent one.”

I have been thinking the same thing, but I sighed. “I don’t have anything on her. I only did this to spite her, to show the public their marriage isn’t the perfect picture they keep selling.”

Adele slowly lifted her eyes from her phone, a small smile forming on her lips. “I have something that would destroy her reputation,” she said.” I just didn’t use it because I felt my fight wasn’t with her, Killian was the one who disrespected me.”

Before she could continue, I tapped her arm. “Come on. We are not the nice type. We fight dirty, anyone who hurts us pays for it.”

A second later, my phone buzzed. Adele had sent me a picture of Killian and Rhea together. I didn’t even hesitate, I posted it on my page immediately.

Now my notifications are exploding, and I can’t even keep up.

Adele stared at me, eyes wide. “How did you even come up with something like that?” she asked.

If she had lived through what I went through before my rebirth, she would understand. This is just the tip of the iceberg of what I plan to do. I am coming for Declan and Killian, and I am coming hard. They will regret ever crossing paths with us.

I am going to make sure that even ten years from now, Declan is still struggling in the fashion industry. Thank God I have connections there, he has no idea what’s coming for him.

Adele curled herself up on the bed and started crying again. I walked over to her, my heart squeezing a little. I understood the pain, finding out your partner cheated on you on your wedding day was brutal. What she didn’t realize yet was that God had just saved her from a disastrous marriage.

I climbed onto the bed beside her and pulled her into a hug. “I know it hurts, but honestly, babe you should be grateful. You would have spent your whole life in misery, if you even survived it.”

She sniffed and looked at me through red eyes. “How are you this calm? You broke up with Declan too. Shouldn’t you be crying like me?”

I smiled softly. “Trust me, if I could call Maxwell Sinclair to come work some magic on you, you’d realize there’s so much more to life than these men.”

Adele burst into laughter, the sound messy but genuine, and it warmed my chest.

“No wonder you were moaning so loud,” she said, teasing. “With the way he was going at it, I don’t know how you didn’t break. Can I see the video again?” We both burst out laughing.
Just then, my phone rang, it was my PA. I picked it up immediately.

“Good morning, ma’am. I have been trying to reach you all morning. Mr. Zane has shifted your meeting to tomorrow, so you will need to be in France tonight,” Kelvin informed me.

“What?!” I exclaimed. Mr. Zane is one of the top real estate moguls in France, and I have been trying to secure a deal with him for months. It’s been difficult, and if I don’t meet him now, I might not get another chance this year.

“I have to be in France tonight,” I said, turning to Adele. “Let’s go together. I have work there, and you can use the trip to clear your head.”
She nodded, a small smile breaking through her sadness. “I need that holiday,” she said.

“Anything to help me forget about that demon.”
I stood up, a surge of excitement running through me as I started packing. France, here we come.
