Chapter 95 A Chance To See You Again
Mira walked to the chair where Olga was sitting in a frozen state. “Olga, why are you still here? The meeting was already over. Thank you for attending the meeting and allowing me to speak to the council without interruption. You have behaved well. It's time for you to leave the conference room,” she said.
‘Dumbass, unfreeze me!’ Olga screamed but she couldn't open her mouth.
“What did you say? I can’t hear you." Mira bent down and leaned closer to her enemy’s mouth.
‘I can’t speak! Unfreeze me! Witch! What have you done to me? Olga asked furiously.
Mira saw anger burning in Olga’s eyes. She knew that her pet had frozen Olga just like what happened to Luna Rosie when she attempted to slit her throat with a knife. “You can't speak, right? I know. But I have no plans to allow you to speak. From now on I will not allow you to use your filthy mouth again to insult me and other people. Starting today, you will be silenced forever as your punishment. You will regret hurting me!” she said, her eyes spitting burning hatred towards the person who killed innocent Luna Amira.
Mira went to the table, looked at Brownie and said in a low voice, “I want her to be silenced forever. She can no longer use her mouth to say bad words to me. And there are stairs nearby. It's a good place to stage an accident. I want her body paralyzed so that she will die slowly, and painfully. Can you do that for me, Brownie?” she asked.
Brownie nodded its head, its forked tongue was out, hissing venomously towards Olga.
“She’s now yours to punish,” Mira said with a smirk.
Olga saw everything. She saw Luna Amira talking to someone on the surface of the table, but who is it? She can’t see anything or anyone there except Luna Amira.
What’s going on?
Is Luna Amira going crazy?
Suddenly she could finally move her feet and hands. She stood up, still looking at Luna Amira.
Mira looked at Olga and said, “What are you waiting for? Leave the room now,” she ordered.
Olga tries to open her mouth to lash out at Luna Amira but she still can’t open her mouth. Damn, she urgently needs to leave the room now because it’s becoming creepy inside.
She walked towards the door and exited the conference room.
Outside the room, Ruth the council leader and Alma were standing outside the conference room waiting for Luna Amira to come out of the room.
They watched Olga leave the room and pass in front of them without saying anything, just glaring at them. Then Olga moved towards the staircase.
Mira stepped out of the room and addressed the council leader. “Ruth, do you have something to tell me?” she asked.
“Um, regarding the planting of rice and crops, do you really want to lead farmers to plant crops? Are you serious?” Ruth asked in disbelief.
“Yes, of course. I will go to every village to show the farmers that Luna Amira is willing to plant rice side-by-side with them. I just want to inspire them. I hope I can bolster their confidence and ignite the fire in them to get back to work. Planting rice and other crops is not that hard to do. I just want to set a good example for my pack,” Mira explained.
“You got a good point, Luna.” Ruth nodded her head. “ Alright, if that is what you really want to do then we will support you,” she said, impressed by Luna's willingness to lead and become an example for their pack members to emulate so they can rise up from the crisis and improve their lives.
Meanwhile…
Olga can be seen stepping onto the staircase, walking down the stairs slowly. She was scared because she never wanted to go down. She meant to go to her room. Why did her feet take her to the staircase? It seemed her feet had a mind of their own. She was tense and terrified. Why was she losing control of her feet?
She wants to stop going down but her feet won't slow down, they keep moving down.
What the hell is going on?
She had a feeling that someone was controlling her feet!
Then to her horror and shock, her feet missed two steps. She lost her balance and came crashing down onto the floor with a loud thud, hitting her head against the hard floor. Her fall hurt so badly, she saw stars making her world spin.
Before she passed out, she remembered so well what she did to Luna Amira, orchestrating her fake suicide attempt.
The horrified scream of the servants upon seeing her bloody head faded fast from her memory, then total darkness claimed her consciousness.
Mira, Ruth and Alma came running to the staircase after hearing the servant's scream. That’s when they saw what had happened to Olga. She was lying on the floor, unconscious, blood oozing from her head.
The servants gathered around Olga, attending to her. Someone had already summoned the pack doctor.
They managed to carry Olga’s unconscious body to the sofa, blood still oozing from her head.
Luna Amira, Ruth and Alma rushed down the stairs to check Olga's condition.
“This is bad. Olga will lose her life from brain hemorrhage if the pack doctor takes a long time to come here,” Ruth said worriedly.
Luna Amira and Alma just stood there. They couldn't show joy after what had happened to Olga because it would appear that they had no compassion for her. So they stayed silent and watched the frightened faces of the servants who gathered around Olga’s injured body. Three of the servants were Olga’s minions.
When the pack doctor finally arrived and applied first aid to Olga’s head injury, she ordered the servants to bring the injured woman to the car so she could bring her to the pack's hospital.
Olga’s minions carried her unconscious body towards the entrance. Panic and shock registered on their faces as they placed their leader’s injured body gently into the vehicle parked in the driveway.
The pack doctor slid into the front seat and instructed the driver to drive to the nearest hospital.
Ruth was shaking her head as she watched the car speed out of the complex’s gate. “Olga had a nasty fall on the staircase. What an unfortunate accident," she said gloomily.
“Um, Ruth, if nothing else, I need to go to my room to rest. Olga’s accident shocked me. I was still reeling from the shock of her fall. I need to rest in my room. I will talk to you later,” Mira said glumly. “We will hear an update soon regarding Olga's condition from the pack doctor,” she added calmly.
“OK. I’m going back to my room as well. See you later, Luna,” Ruth said and moved towards the door.
After Ruth was already out of earshot, Alma said boldly, “I hope Olga will die on the way to the hospital. Bad people like her should never be given a chance to survive. She is a parasite! She deserved to die!”
“Shhh, lower your voice. We don’t know yet what Olga’s condition will be but I hope she dies in the hospital and the doctors there can't save her." Mira echoed her maid’s sentiments.
The women climbed the stairs and went to Luna Amira’s room.
“Now all we have to do is wait for what will be Olga’s fate,” Mira said. “I’m going to rest for a while,” she said.
“OK. I’ll come back later, Luna.” Alma left the room.
Mira lay down on the bed and stared at the ceiling of her room for a long time. Brownie suddenly landed on the bed. The snake slithered into her body and lay on her abdomen in a sleeping position.
Mira caressed the snake’s shiny body. “Thank you for doing a good job. You have helped me tremendously. I wish Olga would die so I had one less enemy to face and that is my despicable husband,” she said. She had developed an intense dislike for Luna Amira’s husband which she had yet to meet.
The snake closed its eyes and fell into a deep sleep after its triumphant orchestration of Olga’s tragic fall from the staircase.
Mira also closed her eyes, joining her pet in dreamland. She fell asleep for almost two hours. When she opened her eyes she was greeted by the loud knock of the door. She rose from the bed and opened the door.
“Luna, I have bad news for you. Alpha Austin is back! But after he learned of Olga’s accident, he went straight to the hospital to check on her condition,” Alma said anxiously, her mouth quivering in fear.
“And what about Olga? What's her condition right now?” Mira asked. “Did you hear from the pack doctor?”
“The pack doctor texted Ruth and told her that Olga was currently in a coma because she suffered severe head trauma during her fall. She suffered a brain hemorrhage, is in critical condition and may not survive. The hospital doctor said that if she doesn't wake up within three days she will die." Alma elaborated further.
Mira was pleased with the news. She’s not bothered at all that her enemy might be saved. All she needs to do is send Brownie to the hospital to make sure Olga will never survive. But there is no need for that anymore. Even if Olga survives and the pack doctor brings her home, Brownie has plenty of time to finish Olga.
“Thanks for the news, Alma,” Mira said. Now she will be preparing herself mentally and emotionally to face Luna Amira’s sadistic husband anytime soon once he comes home. Their paths will definitely cross today. She can’t avoid it.
“Um, Ruth wants to see you because she has something important to tell you,” Alma said.
“Alright, since I’m done resting, bring her in,” Mira said casually.
When Ruth was ushered to the room, Mira instructed Alma to prepare refreshment and bring it to the room.
Mira face Ruth and said, “Have a seat,” she said, easing into the sofa.
The women settle on the sofa, facing each other.
Ruth cleared her throat. “Um, Luna, I have an important proposal for you. Since you are our leader now, I want to suggest you a brilliant idea that can help replenish our financial reserves fast. And also to fund all your livelihood projects for the pack members,” she said, brimming with excitement.
Mira’s interest was piqued. “I’m interested in your proposal. I’m ready to listen. Bring it on.”
“We have a large untapped mineral deposit of Lithium, Cobalt and Copper on our land. These minerals are used for electric vehicles, portable electronics and energy storage systems and are also heavily used in electrical wiring and etcetera. They are in demand and we can earn a lot of money if we mine them, just that we don't have the infrastructure and the funding. I suggest that we get a loan from the royal family or we can partner with them so that we can earn profits from these valuable minerals. We can use the proceeds of these projects to improve the pack’s financial condition. What do you think?” Ruth asked excitedly.
Mira’s eyes widened. She was stunned when Ruth mentioned loan grants and the royal family. “Y-you want me to go to the capital and secure a grant deal with the royal family to finance the mining of those minerals?”
“Yep. Exactly. That’s what I’m talking about. The other packs have been doing it, asking for loan grants or cash funding from the royal family in exchange for mutual cooperation. I’m sure you can also secure a good deal for our pack. They have the money, and we have the minerals. It’s a win-win situation for both parties,” Ruth said. "I've already suggested it to your husband in the past but he was not interested. I don't know why.”
Mira fell silent for a moment. Going to the capital to secure cash financing from the royal family and meet Alpha Gideon once again seemed a good idea. She would do anything to see his face once again. “It's actually a nice idea. I liked it so much. But I must visit the villages first and encourage farmers to plant rice and crops. That's my first priority,” she said.
“No problem. I’m still finalizing the draft of the contract. I’m actually making five different contracts so we can discuss them further. I’m just happy right now that you are willing to go to the capital to secure cash financing from the royal family. It will be a tremendous help to boost our pack’s sagging economy. It will help secure our goal to make Moon Star Pack great again!” Ruth said brightly, brimming with enthusiasm.
“Thank you for your valuable suggestion, Ruth. I greatly appreciate your input. You are an excellent council member and leader. With your help we can make our pack great again!” Mira says merrily.
“I’m very honored to serve you and help our pack, Luna,” Ruth said, teary-eyed.
The women discussed the project thoroughly. They had a short break after refreshment arrived and continued their discussion until lunch time.
Ruth left the room to go back to the other building housing council members.
Mira was eating her delicious lunch, thinking about Alpha Gideon. She was excited to see him again. She will definitely go to the capital, secure cash financing and also meet the love of her life for the last time. Tears of longing shone in her eyes. She still loves him so much. She is not ready yet to forget him.
After lunch, Alma arrived in the room looking terrified. “Luna, your husband is back and currently climbing the stairs. He is looking for you. He’s coming here!”
Mira froze.
She suddenly felt nervous.
