Chapter 91 Emily Must Have Appeared for You
"Hey, if you see anything weird, let me know. How are you planning to deal with him and the others?"
Aaron had known from the moment he met Emily that she was someone you didn't mess with.
She was more like a wolf with sharp fangs.
So, he was really curious about Emily's approach.
"Depends on how much he's gained from it. I'll make him pay back double. As for the mastermind, I'll just call the cops!"
Emily's eyes were cold, radiating a chilling aura.
If York saw this, he'd probably be shocked.
Her presence was surprisingly similar to Daniel's.
Aaron was pleased to see Emily no longer enduring humiliation and showing her true strength.
"Don't worry, I'll handle it."
Aaron promised, then mentioned Harold, "Mr. Rogers has called several times since he left, wanting to invite you to dinner and asking if you have any new projects."
Harold must have consulted with some real engineers and become even more impressed and curious about Emily.
That's why he kept calling impatiently.
"There will be opportunities if this collaboration goes well!"
Emily's impression of Harold was influenced by memories from her past life, so she didn't rush into multiple projects at once.
A period of adjustment was necessary!
"Got it." Aaron hung up the phone.
Emily noticed two missed calls after hanging up.
They were unfamiliar numbers.
She initially didn't plan to respond.
Then a message came through.
Byron: [Ms. Johnson, I mentioned taking you to see a race last time. There's one tomorrow. Would I be honored to invite you?]
Byron's message was very humble.
It seemed he was genuinely scared last time.
Fear led to humility!
Emily didn't play hard to get.
On one hand, she wanted to see the race.
On the other, since she had taken on this follower, she needed to act like a leader.
Emily: [Time and place!]
Byron had called twice, both times while she was on the phone.
He wondered if Emily had blocked his number.
Even though he hadn't given Emily his number, his deep-seated fear made him believe she could get it.
Finally, he nervously sent the message and anxiously waited.
Seeing her response, he was overjoyed.
Luckily, his followers didn't see his reaction, or they'd think he was crazy.
Byron: [Tomorrow at 10 AM! I wouldn't let Ms. Johnson go alone. May I have the honor of picking you up at 9:30 AM?]
Byron was humble and eager to please.
Emily was quite satisfied.
Emily: [Okay!]
After ending the conversation, Emily felt her blood boiling with excitement.
If she counted her previous life, it had been three years since her last race.
In her past life, she initially raced to raise funds for her family, risking her life. Later, helping the Johnson family kept her too busy to race.
In this life, she had only participated in one major race, gained fame, and then disappeared.
Now, there were still legends about her.
Emily thought about tomorrow. If there was an opportunity, she planned to enjoy the race again.
She logged into her long-dormant Twitter account and posted a message.
QS: Rising from the ashes, the king returns!
Such confidence!
Emily had the confidence to back up her words.
After posting, she felt great!
Ignoring the Johnson family's opinions, she could live freely.
The message was quickly noticed by her followers.
Including Charles.
"Am I seeing things? It's real!"
Charles had witnessed Emily's legendary race.
He loved racing and admired two people: Daniel and QS.
Daniel had raced years before Emily appeared, in his early twenties, and retired after one legendary race.
Though Daniel no longer raced or followed the racing scene, Charles shared Emily's race with him.
That race piqued Daniel's curiosity about QS.
Heroes admire heroes.
But Emily hadn't appeared since, her Twitter inactive, and she erased her traces to appear obedient to the Johnson family. No one knew her identity or whereabouts.
"Daniel, I heard there's a race tomorrow. QS is returning. She might be racing. I have to go. I know you're not interested, so I'll head out early to rest and prepare."
Charles was excited.
He didn't notice Daniel's intense gaze.
Just as Charles reached the door, Daniel spoke, "Pick me up tomorrow."
Charles froze.
Then, like a ghost, he floated back to Daniel, incredulous, "Daniel, are you okay? Monster, leave my Daniel!"
He thought Daniel had gone mad or been possessed. Daniel never changed his mind.
Charles didn't know Daniel retired not just because he was done but because the Smith family faced issues, requiring him to take responsibility.
Daniel glanced at Charles, "Not picking me up? Then the race won't happen."
His calm words carried immense power.
Even if he wasn't hosting the race.
No one would risk angering him.
"No, I'll pick you up! I was just surprised. You retired, why the interest? Do you like QS and want to meet her?"
Charles quickly agreed.
Such authority couldn't be faked.
It was definitely him!
He voiced his thoughts.
Daniel replied, "You're so nosy. Why not be a gossip reporter?"
Charles sensed a strong warning and dared not speak further.
Emily had no idea Charles was such a drama queen.
Though she announced her return, she didn't plan to race tomorrow. She wanted to wait for a major international event.
But her bad luck led her to run into certain people at 10 AM, arriving with Byron.
"Emily, what are you doing here?"
Bianca had resolved a major issue but noticed James was distant lately.
She found out James planned to race to relax, so she tagged along.
Seeing Emily here, Bianca didn't think it was a coincidence but a ploy to get close to James.
Bianca deliberately told James, "James, we seem to have fate with Emily. She doesn't know racing, yet we meet here."
