Chapter 233 She is not worried about herself
"Emily, I heard you got picked up by the enforcement team. Even though Dad and our brothers don't care about you, as your sister, how could I not care? So I came to see you. How are you doing?"
Bianca had even dressed up carefully to make Emily look more miserable by comparison.
In the eyes of the enforcement team, her little scheme was pretty obvious.
But everyone tacitly kept quiet about it.
Unfortunately, Emily wasn't as miserable as Bianca had expected.
She wasn't panicking, and even in a simple T-shirt, she still looked fresh and striking.
This actually made Bianca look rather gaudy in comparison.
"Did you 'hear about it,' or did you already know I'd be brought here? Your information network sure is impressive. People who don't know better might think you were the one who reported me!"
A flash of panic crossed Bianca's eyes, but she quickly hid it and returned to normal.
She even laughed lightly, "Emily, you're always jealous of me anyway, so I'm not surprised you'd say that. Don't worry, the enforcement team won't wrongly accuse anyone, but they won't let a bad person go either. You just take care of yourself in here!"
Emily actually felt more sympathy for Bianca.
Everyone said Bianca was favored, but the Johnson family was selfish to the core. How could they really care about her that much? When it came to their interests, she was actually nothing.
Too bad Bianca couldn't see reality clearly and still wanted to show off.
Emily let out a light snort, and as Bianca glared at her, she said, "Is that so? Do you know that making false accusations can also land you in the enforcement bureau? I'm not worried about anything. I'll be out soon. I just wonder if the person making false accusations will be scared of coming in."
Bianca didn't believe Emily could be that lucky.
"If you think you can easily get out after coming in, I'll just wait and see what you're capable of!"
Bianca hadn't gotten to see Emily in a miserable state and was furious instead. She thought Emily was just being stubborn, so she didn't want to waste more words with her and left in a huff.
As Bianca was about to leave, Emily suddenly called out to her, "Bianca, it seems you really don't care about Hayden. You came here without even thinking to ask how he is?"
Bianca's eyes lit up as she turned back, "So you're admitting you hid Hayden? You admitted it yourself. This is the enforcement bureau, the officers definitely heard you. Just wait to rot in jail. Oh, and they can add extortion to the charges too!"
Emily's expression didn't change, "Who said I admitted anything? I naturally know why I was brought to the enforcement bureau - of course it's because of Hayden. But you don't seem to really care about him."
Bianca just thought Emily was making excuses after being exposed. She couldn't be bothered with Emily anymore and turned to leave.
Unexpectedly, she ran into Byron and Sophia, who had rushed over.
"Bianca, it's you!"
Sophia and Bianca had been rivals since childhood. Sophia knew Bianca too well and recognized her from far away.
She immediately blocked Bianca's path and cursed viciously, "Bianca, was it you? You framed Emily. I knew you were vicious. You better go withdraw the charges right now and let Emily go, or don't blame us if the Brown Group goes against the Johnson Group."
Sophia threatened.
Byron chimed in, "How is the Brown Group alone enough? There's also our Reyes Group. Can the Johnson family handle that?"
Bianca looked at Byron, feeling somewhat unfamiliar.
In her memory, he was always the one chasing after her, trying to please her in every way. How did Byron turn into someone who would condemn her like this?
What exactly had Emily done to make Byron so devoted to her?
Bianca looked at Byron with a pained expression, "Byron, you used to dote on me the most. What kind of spell has Emily cast on you? She's actually rotten to the core, with a dirty heart. She's not at all what you think. You shouldn't let her drag you down.
She was arrested because she brought it on herself. I came here out of kindness to persuade her, but she cursed at me instead. I'm innocent too. Why would you misunderstand me? Don't listen to Sophia. Sophia has always been against me, so naturally she's helping Emily."
Sophia snorted and deliberately mocked Byron, "Look at your taste back then. What a disgusting person. If we're talking about dirty, she's the one who fooled all those guys at school into being her followers. That's truly dirty, inside and out!"
"You!"
Bianca was so angry at Sophia's insulting words that her face almost twisted.
However, thinking that Emily, whom they cared so much about, would soon be in prison, she suddenly felt much better.
"Say whatever you want. Anyway, Emily will be sentenced soon. You better persuade her to think it through - confession brings leniency, resistance brings severity!"
After saying this, Bianca left triumphantly in her high heels, swaying her hips.
Sophia and Byron were both angry at Bianca's words "cursing" Emily.
But more than that, they were worried.
"What do we do? Is Emily really going to prison?"
"Emily is so capable, how could she be so easily schemed against by Bianca? Anyway, we're already here, so let's go see Emily first and ask about the situation!"
The two couldn't wait to see Emily.
After leaving them, Bianca didn't leave the enforcement bureau right away. Instead, she found the person in charge and asked.
"Hello, I'd like to ask, now that Emily has been arrested, has Hayden been found? I'm Hayden's sister, Bianca."
As a concerned family member, asking about his whereabouts wouldn't count as randomly inquiring about the case.
"Hayden hasn't been found. We're doing everything we can to locate him."
The enforcement bureau answered truthfully.
Bianca frowned, "How is that possible? Emily must have hidden my Hayden to raise the stakes for getting him back. This is extortion. You must give her a harsher sentence."
The enforcement bureau was speechless.
Setting aside the fact that sentencing and closing a case takes time, how could they just add charges on the spot?
Although Emily had been brought to the enforcement bureau, they hadn't actually found evidence of her guilt. At most, after 24 hours, she could leave without any problems.
"Miss, without actual evidence of Emily's guilt, not only can we not convict her, but she'll be released without charges very soon!"
Bianca almost exclaimed, "How can that be..."
But the enforcement bureau staff clearly didn't have time to continue talking with her and prepared to send her away.
Bianca could tell they didn't want to continue, and she knew her reaction might have annoyed them. She quickly changed to a sorrowful expression, "I'm sorry, I got too emotional. Hayden and I grew up together, and Hayden doted on me the most, so I'm heartbroken about what happened to him. That's why I reacted this way.
Please make sure you find Hayden and don't let Emily, this criminal, get away with it!"
The enforcement officer said, "We'll find Hayden as soon as possible and won't let any bad person go."
Bianca had no choice but to leave first.
However, being able to arrest Emily, ruin her reputation, and make her miss tomorrow's competition meant everything would develop according to her plan, which was good enough.
Thinking of this, her mood improved somewhat.
What she didn't know was that Daniel had been following Emily's situation all along.
As soon as Emily was brought to the enforcement bureau, York immediately hired the best lawyer, both to understand what crime Emily was arrested for and to see if they could bail Emily out.
Stanley received Daniel's call and was rushing to the enforcement bureau from the neighboring city.
At this moment, Sophia and Byron saw Emily.
They first asked what crime Emily had been brought in for.
But since they weren't lawyers or family members of Hayden, the victim, they couldn't be alone with Emily.
Since Emily wasn't really a suspect yet, when the enforcement bureau told her that Sophia and Byron had come to see her, Emily didn't want them to worry.
She had the enforcement officers tell Sophia and Byron that she was fine and would be out soon.
Unable to see Emily, Byron figured he should at least help her get a lawyer.
As they left, he and Sophia discussed finding a lawyer.
