Chapter 112 Who Is the Man You Are Talking About
"I... I..."
Violette was totally clueless about where the money came from.
But she'd never seen Emily hanging out with sketchy guys. After spending so much time with her, she trusted Emily enough not to doubt her.
Bianca noticed Violette's hesitation and felt even more smug.
Since Violette couldn't explain, it was like admitting that Emily's money had a shady origin.
How could a young girl with no obvious skills suddenly become wealthy? It wasn't like she hit the lottery overnight.
Even if she did win the lottery, buying such a villa wasn't something she could just do on a whim.
Once someone has a bias, it's hard to see anything good in the person they're prejudiced against.
Bianca looked at Emily with fake sympathy. "Emily, how could you... Why would you leave the Johnson Villa and rely on another man? You're letting yourself down, and you're letting James down, who loves you so much!"
James's veins bulged in anger as he sneered, "Violette already admitted your money's origins are questionable. What else do you have to say? Tell me, who is this man?"
"You can't understand because your minds are filthy. Don't come here to pollute me. You're making the air disgusting!"
Emily waved her hand as if she were truly disgusted.
She turned to Violette and said, "Violette, show them out. They're not welcome here. Don't let them in again!"
Violette had finally seen through Bianca's true feelings. Bianca genuinely disliked Emily, and her words always carried a hint of disdain.
Violette stepped forward to escort them out. "Both of you, get out!"
James, enraged by Emily's indifferent attitude, lost his temper and suddenly lunged forward, grabbing Emily's arm.
"Today, you won't escape. You're mine unless I say otherwise. Tell me who this man is!"
James practically growled through gritted teeth.
"Are you crazy? We broke off our engagement. Even if I did find someone else, it has nothing to do with you!"
Emily tried to shake off James's grip, but he wouldn't let go. In a fit of anger, she slapped him.
James was a madman. Even after being slapped, he didn't let go. Instead, he stared intensely at Emily. "Tell me, who owns this house? If you don't tell me today, I'm not leaving."
Bianca noticed something was off with James's red eyes.
She tried to intervene. "James, calm down..."
"What are you talking about?"
A commanding voice echoed from the doorway.
His voice was so recognizable and authoritative that everyone turned their attention to him.
Daniel stood there, dressed in a casual shirt and white pants. Despite the casual attire, his noble and powerful aura was impossible to ignore.
Bianca's eyes widened. Daniel was here?
Was he here to support Emily?
How could that bitch Emily get Daniel to break protocol and defend her again?
James had seen Emily with Daniel once before, but now Daniel had shown up at Emily's house. Did this mean he visited her often?
At that moment, Biscuit and Cloudy ran out upon hearing the commotion. Biscuit, following Cloudy's lead, recognized Daniel as a familiar face and warmly greeted him, wagging his tail and circling his feet.
It was clear they were very familiar with him, treating him like their owner.
Bianca's eyes darkened.
James felt his suspicions confirmed. He even forgot that the person in front of him was Daniel, the powerful and cold ruler of the Smith family.
"Daniel, I didn't say the man was you. Are you admitting it by coming here?"
James questioned Daniel with hostility.
Bianca was shocked. James was insane to talk to Daniel like that. If Daniel got offended and denied James's inheritance, she would lose everything. She had given herself to him and planned to marry him. This couldn't happen.
Bianca quickly tried to explain, "Mr. Smith, please don't misunderstand. James isn't targeting you. He's just upset and speaking irrationally."
"Shut up!"
James didn't appreciate her help and snapped at Bianca.
He continued to stare down Daniel. "Daniel, why aren't you answering? Are you too guilty to respond?"
"James, if you want to act crazy, do it at home. Get out!"
Emily took advantage of James's distraction and forcefully shook him off, shouting coldly.
"James—"
James was caught off guard and stumbled backward, nearly falling.
Bianca screamed, her voice breaking.
Luckily, James managed to grab the railing and steady himself.
James hadn't expected Emily to be so ruthless. He looked at her, his eyes red with either sadness or anger.
"You'd risk my life for Daniel? Emily, I never knew you were so cold-hearted."
James suddenly laughed bitterly.
He turned to Daniel. "Daniel, is such a woman worth your attention? Someone so heartless and immoral, how could she be worthy of you?"
James's eyes were filled with contempt and disdain for Emily.
"Shut up!"
Daniel sneered. "She's wonderful! The problem is you. I don't need your opinion on my judgment!"
Emily was stunned. Her mind buzzed, and her heart raced.
Was he admitting he liked her?
How could he admit that? Given his status, how could he be interested in someone like her?
Their statuses weren't even comparable!
He must be saying this to help her out of the situation.
Emily gratefully glanced at Daniel.
Then she turned to James. "Mr. Smith and I are both single. Even if we're dating, so what?"
James was so shocked he stepped back, forgetting he was on the stairs.
He tumbled down the stairs.
"James!"
Bianca was terrified. She rushed to help him up but couldn't muster the strength.
After several attempts, she couldn't lift him and was both angry and anxious. "Emily, are you happy now? How could you be so cruel? James used to take care of you, and he was your fiancé.
And now, you're so heartless. Aren't you afraid Mr. Smith will see this and reconsider marrying you into the Smith family?"
Bianca turned to Daniel with tearful eyes.
"Mr. Smith, I respect and admire you, but this time you've gone too far. Emily was James's fiancée. She approached James because he was the Smith family's heir. Now she's getting close to you for the same reason."
Bianca was desperate and resorted to slander.
