Chapter 112

Chapter 112

He really wanted to strangle that idiot, Freya, right now!

How could she say something like that so openly?

Now everyone knew about it. How could Evelyn have any reputation left? How could Benjamin not find out?

It was over, over. The entire Star Dance Troupe was finished!

But he really didn't dare lay a hand on Freya, since she also had powerful people backing her up.

He pushed Freya away with some anger: "What nonsense are you talking about? Everyone, go back and rest. I'll handle this."

Besides suppressing the situation, he had no other options.

How could Freya give him that chance?

"Mr. Lopez, Ms. Thomas can't have anything happen to her, or Benjamin will be angry."

She looked at the troupe members: "Help Ms. Thomas! Let's break down the door!"

Gregory's eyes widened.

He knew he hated stupid people, but how could someone be this stupid?

But he couldn't control the situation anymore. The troupe members were already crowding forward to knock on the door, calling out Evelyn's name.

Now, not just within the troupe, but probably all the theater staff would know what happened!

"What if she won't open the door? Get the staff, get the staff to bring a key!"

Things were getting more and more chaotic. Gregory didn't want to watch anymore and just wanted to pass out.

Especially the moment the door opened, he felt like his whole world was collapsing.

"This... what are you doing!"

Everyone's voices suddenly stopped. Someone asked a question.

Gregory kept his eyes closed. He felt such a scene wasn't suitable for him to see.

"What am I doing? Can't you tell?"

Evelyn sat neatly dressed on the lounge sofa, holding a selfie stick in her hand. Next to her was Gerald, tied up tight, with slap marks all over his face.

When everyone was at a loss, a thin voice spoke up: "Playing it pretty kinky, huh?"

Everyone's expressions instantly showed realization.

SM stuff - even if they didn't do it themselves, they'd heard plenty about it.

They just hadn't expected Evelyn to have such interests. They were already starting to feel sorry for Benjamin.

Gregory was about to lose it. Not only was the troupe finished, but they'd also probably all be silenced.

Evelyn glanced at Freya. Freya's face went pale, and she shrank back, looking at her timidly, as if only now realizing she'd said the wrong thing.

But most of the troupe members were girls, and someone spoke up.

"Ms. Thomas, this is a bit..."

As if not knowing how to describe it, Marcella didn't continue, but changed her approach.

"If Mr. White finds out, can tomorrow's performance still go on?"

"Maybe Ms. Thomas should sit this one out?"

Marcella hadn't dared go against Evelyn before, but now her eyes lit up, thinking the lead dancer position might fall to her.

"Why shouldn't I perform?" Evelyn said lazily, tapping the selfie stick on Gerald's face. "Just because I hit someone?"

"Is this about hitting someone? What were you two doing in this room? Do we have to spell it out?"

"Go ahead and spell it out. I think there's something else you're implying."

"You..." Marcella still didn't want to offend Evelyn and couldn't continue for a moment.

Freya stepped forward and said softly, "Ms. Thomas, I saw a strange man enter your room earlier. I thought something happened to you, so I took it upon myself to call Benjamin..."

At this point, she seemed very scared, her voice getting even lower.

"I didn't expect it to be like this... You and Benjamin won't have a misunderstanding, will you..."

Finally, Freya started crying softly, as if afraid she'd affected their relationship.

Evelyn looked at Freya with interest, amusement in her voice.

"So scared? Then why don't you just explain it clearly to him for me?"

Why wasn't this going the way Freya imagined?

Freya felt something was wrong, but with so many people around, she could only maintain her good-girl persona.

"I'll definitely explain to Ms. Thomas, but right now..." She glanced at Gerald, looking embarrassed. "Ms. Thomas probably can't protect him anymore."

Every single sentence was hinting that she and Gerald had something going on.

"Protect him? What, afraid he'll reveal your little secrets?"

She spoke just loud enough for everyone present to hear clearly.

And her suggestive tone carried an ambiguous air, making everyone's eyes dart back and forth between Gerald and Freya.

Freya had never experienced anything like this. Her face instantly flushed red.

Not only did she forget to let her tears fall, but clear anger flashed in her eyes.

After a long moment, she bit her lip and said, "Ms. Thomas, what do you mean? I was worried about you, so I told Benjamin about this. Who knew..."

She didn't continue, but the implication was clear.

"Why were you worried about me?"

She tapped the selfie stick lightly on Gerald's head: "Afraid he'd hurt me? But Benjamin is pretty far from me, right? Why didn't you go to Mr. Lopez first? Mr. Lopez, did she come to you?"

Gregory had hoped to smooth things over since he hadn't clearly seen what happened.

But Freya wouldn't let it go.

Freya sounded worried about Evelyn, but every word was looking for trouble.

He'd seen this kind of thing plenty of times. How could he not understand what she meant?

He'd wanted to pretend he didn't exist, but since Evelyn called him out directly, he couldn't avoid it.

"Ms. Thomas, Freya did come to me." Gregory described their encounter in the hallway.

"So if you hadn't run into each other, who knows when she would've asked you for help."

Evelyn's voice was calm and measured, seemingly casual yet laying Freya's intentions bare.

Everyone present had spent time with Freya.

Though they all thought she was pure and kind, they also knew her feelings for Benjamin weren't pure.

Now everyone's expressions were hard to read, and Freya's face looked unpleasant, too.

"Ms. Thomas, you did something to betray Benjamin, and now you're trying to confuse the issue."

"Really?"

Evelyn raised an eyebrow, lifting her eyes to look at Freya, but her face wore a faint smile, as if she didn't think there was any problem.

"How are you so sure I did something to betray Benjamin?"

"I wonder what time you saw him come in, what time you notified Benjamin, and when you told Mr. Lopez?"

For many things, you don't need evidence. Just connect the timeline, and you can tell whether Freya was really helping her or not.

Freya clearly hadn't expected Evelyn to stay this calm when things had gotten this bad.

Freya clenched her fists, nails digging into her palms, knowing she could only fight with her back against the wall now.

"Yes, I deliberately delayed!"

Faced with Freya's confession, everyone fell silent for a moment, then all looked at Freya together.

She looked at Evelyn, but seemed extremely wronged: "At first, I thought he was merely an acquaintance of yours, but I heard disgusting sounds from outside the door, so I told Benjamin!"
