Chapter 198: Justice

Chapter 198: Justice
‘ This afternoon, Shawn Brayden was arrested at an abandoned house where he had brutally murdered his cousin, Antonio Brayden, who had been rushed to the hospital after he was shot twice in the chest…’

The rest of the broadcast fell on deaf ears. Everywhere spun in a flash making Eloise dizzy. A few minutes ago, she was violently shaken awake by Mason, her abductor.

She'd screamed, argued, tried to fight off, but her hands and legs were tied.

Mason had told her he was going to have her by hell, by heaven, and while she's still tied, he tried to make her feel at home by switching on the channel when the news popped up.

Blood rushed down to her feet. Her face drained all color.

Mason's joyful laughter echoed in her ears.

“ Holy fuck! The one person you're waiting for to come and save you is dead?” He asked and burst into another round of laughter. “ I feel like the universe is helping me.”

She heard him say, giggling.

Eloise’s lashes batted. Now she understood the gut feeling, now she understood why she was feeling uneasy.

She stood still, waves of emotions crashing down her nerves, but she didn't know what to feel, how to feel it.

Everything went numb and still.

Her gaze slowly moved and fell on the gun dangling at Mason's finger.

“ Kill me.” She muttered.

“ Huh?”

“ Please kill me.” She looked up at him, with pleading and desperate eyes.

He looked at her in shock.

“ Life is nothing without him, but if you kill me, I might have another chance to bring him back.” She said desperately, reasoning and hoping for another rebirth if Mason killed her now. With tears brimming in her eyes, she desperately requested, before it'll be too late.

“ You're insane,” Mason said in disbelief.

“ Yes, yes, I am, so please, just kill me. Shoot me in the chest, or er..in my head, I'll die instantly.”

Mason stared in disbelief. He'd never seen anything like this. The desperation. The tears. The certainty in her voice.

They made his blood boil. His teeth gritted harder the more she pleaded.

Before she could say anything again, he slapped her hard across the face.

“ You want to die? For him? What about me? I'm your husband.” He yelled.

She swallowed, shaking her head. “ I want to bring him back, please kill me quickly.” She cried, pleading more desperately, ignoring his yells and his slap.

The anger in Mason's eyes doesn't feel as scary as the thought of seeing Antonio's corpse, at the thought of never seeing him again.

Mason's shoulder dropped. “ No matter what I do, you'd never look at me like that, would you?”

She shook her head.

Then he pointed the gun. “ Fine, you can as well join him, bitch..after all I've done for you ungrateful…”

His words got interrupted by the breaking down of the door. He turned sharply around, his chest nearly jumping to his throat.

Eloise paused, looked ahead with a racing heart, and silently hoped it was Antonio, that the news was fake.

But the person who barged in was Ghost. Before Mason could pull the trigger, he was shot twice in the leg.

He let out a deafening scream of pain. Screaming at the top of his lungs.

“ Where's Antonio?” That was the first thing she asked as Ghost rushed to her side.

“ I knew something was wrong when you didn't come out of the company.”

“ I asked you, where's Antonio?” She asked again, her chest beating faster.

“ I hope you don't mind, I put a tracking device on your phone and that's how I'm able to track you down.”

“ Are you fucking deaf?” She yelled.

Ghost paused after taking the rope off her. And smiled. “ Nothing happened to the boss; you told him to do it the legal way, and that's what he's currently doing?”

“ What's he doing? Where is he?”

“ I'll call him now to find out, but first, let me take you away from here.” He said and helped her up.

“ No, leave me and call..you know what? Where's my phone?” She started looking around, panting, sweating.

The cops came in while she was still looking around.

“ I called them on my way here.” Ghost told her but she ignored him, ignored everyone and just kept searching for the phone.

“ Mr. Mason Cormac, you're arrested for kidnapping and attempted murder…” she heard one of the cops recite his rights for him. But Mason kept shouting about his legs and pointing at Ghost.

The cops dragged him out to get his legs treated and to take him to jail.

Eloise couldn't find her phone, but Ghost had begun calling Antonio.

“ Everything good?” Antonio asked over the phone.

But he immediately took the phone away from his ear when Eloise yelled over the phone.

“ What the fuck did you do? Why did you do that?! Why did the news said you're dead!" she cried over the phone.

Antonio bit his lower lip, his heart squeezing at the sound of her sobs.

“ Hmm, I was, but…I just did not die.”

She cried louder over the phone. “ I'll murder you myself when I get home.” She hung up and crouched to the floor, weeping.

Ghost said no word. He stood aside, waiting for her to pull herself together before taking her out of the place. But he knew that his boss was in one hell of trouble.

Antonio carried out his second plan.

Tamara stood in shock when the cops came for her mother and arrested her for murder.

“ What do you mean by murder? My mother did not kill anyone.” She shouted as they dragged Dayse off.

Antonio smirked. “ Justice is finally taking place. She murdered Eloise's family, her mother, her father, and her brother.”

“ What are you talking about?”

“ Well, you can ask your mother.”

Tamara looked at Dayse as they were pushing her into the vehicle and the look of guilt says it all. She stood transfixed on the spot, not knowing when Antonio left with everyone else.

Her mother was going to jail, and she would likely be sentenced to death since it was murder she had committed.

Her heart thrashed against her rib. Her body trembled.

“ Eloise.” She called, shaking with tears gathering in her eyes. She has to do something. She
needs to beg Eloise to give them.

She ran out of the house and immediately boarded a taxi. If kneeling on her knees would make Eloise let her mother go, then she is ready. To do anything.
