Chapter 189: Antonio's death prediction
Chapter 189: Antonio's death prediction
“ They're not picking, both of them are not..”
“ Keep trying, please keep trying?” Eloise cut in desperately, her body shaking as she kept looking out of the window.
“ Can you please tell me what's going on?” Laera asked, panicking. “ You're scaring me real bad.”
“ What's going on is that the two of them are in danger.” She choked on, hitting her finger.
‘ How could I not have known this since the beginning? It was so clear; the dream has always been about him.’ Her finger trembled as she thought in her mind.
“ We're here.” The driver arrived just then.
She bolted out of the car the instant the driver pulled into the parking spot.
Hearing Laera's shout and call behind her.
She scurried through the port, her heart racing faster than her legs, but before she could get any closer, she was stopped by the security.
They eyed her from head to toe with their face twisted. Her being in a hospital gown and barefoot made one of them start calling the medical centers.
“ How may we help you ma'am?” One of the guards asked.
“ I need to get to Antonio, I need to make sure he hasn't boarded the plane.”
“ Who's Antonio?”
She shook her head like she didn't have the time for questions and answers and tried pushing the guards out of her way, but they wouldn't budge.
Laera finally catches up to her side, panting heavily.
“Hi, my boyfriend is boarding a plane here, with his boss,” Laera said to them, showing them the picture of the people they had come for, since Eloise wasn't with her phone.
The guards exchanged a glance before letting them through.
Oliver walked slowly along with Antonio who was on the call, heading for the plane.
A part of him wished Antonio would change his mind about cancelling the project, but the further they stepped towards the plane, the less the possibility grew.
“ We know it's been cancelled before, cancelling it offline would make it seem irresponsible of us, which is why we're boarding a plane down there to meet the CEO by ourselves,” Antonio explained over the call.
“ Doing it physically will make it less irresponsible. But I'm not going to inform my boss yet, in case you change your mind again.”
Antonio smirked. “ I appreciate, but I don't think…”
Antonio paused as he felt like his name was being called.
But he heard nothing.
He opened his mouth to speak again when he heard her voice. Clearer this time.
He turned swiftly to see her running through the port, in her hospital wear.
“ I'll call you back.” He muttered and hung up, immediately turning back and hastening up to her.
“ What's wrong? Why is she here? Why is she running?” He mumbled to himself as his legs hastened faster.
Oliver saw this and arched his brow. “ Is she here to tell him not to cancel it?”
His heart leaped with joy, and he also quickly hurried back to confirm her reason for being here.
“ Hey, what are you doing?” Antonio asked, getting to her.
She wrapped her arms around him immediately, shaking from head to toe. “ Please don't go, don't board that plane.”
“ What?!” Shocked and confused, he wrapped his arms around her, holding her tight to steady her.
She was trembling so much that it made his face furrowed deeply.
‘ Why is she so scared?’ he asked in his mind.
“ Please, don't take that plane,” she sobbed, desperately.
“ Hey, baby, calm down, I'm not going to take it if you don't want me to.” He assured her.
Oliver stood some feet away from them. Laera locked arms with him, looking at Eloise also in confusion.
“ What's going on?” Oliver asked.
“ I don't know, she just freaked out when I told her you two were traveling to cancel the project.”
“ Come, come, let's leave here.” Eloise quickly pulled out of the hug and began pulling Antonio with her.
“ El, wait, you need to...”
“ Just listen to me!” She shouted, dragging him by his hand. “ It's going to explode.”
“ What's going to explode?”
“ The plane, it'd crash.”
Everyone exchanged a look. The staff around her were giving her a weird expression, and with her claim and what she was wearing, they suspected she might be a patient with a psychological problem.
Antonio furrowed his brow, thrown off guard by her attitude and claim. The way she was shaking, the urgency and the fear in her voice made him follow her without questioning even though he was curious and confused.
Oliver and Laera followed.
“ Wait.” Oliver stopped them. “ Are we going back home? Just like that? How did you know the plane was going to explode?”
Eloise paused, her eyes glistening with tears brimming. Her throat felt tight.
“ Because I know.” She mumbled. “ Because it has happened before.”
“ What?!” Oliver and Laera exclaimed.
“ You can't be serious, right?” Oliver scoffed with a dry chuckle.
Antonio stepped closer to her, cupped her cheeks into his palm with his face drawn tight with worry.
“ Are you okay? What's going on?” He whispered.
“ You won't believe me.” Tears dropped down her cheeks. “ If you board that plane, you'll die, with him.” She pointed at Oliver.
For some reason, he doesn't think she's lying, and that makes it even more absurd.
“Let's go back home for now,” Antonio said to Oliver.
“ Are you serious…”
Boom!
Everyone immediately went down with their hands above them.
Antonio grabbed Eloise into his arms and covered her protectively as they crouched on the ground.
Every sound felt fuzzy and distant for some seconds.
The explosion has taken them all off guard. Cutting Oliver short, and causing Laera to shake with fear.
Oliver held her tighter as they looked around with dizziness.
They stood up close after things became clearer. Security began running towards the area, people shouting and screaming, running helter-skelter.
They turned to see what the explosion was all about, and their jaws dropped.
It was th
e plane.
It exploded just like Eloise had said, and everyone around it at the time died instantly.
Oliver's breath trembled as he slowly turned back to her. “ How? How did you know that would happen?”
