Chapter 184: Kidnapped

Chapter 184: Kidnapped
Eloise coughed. Her throat felt tight and choked. Her lazy lids felt so weak to open.

She tried to move but couldn't. She felt restrained. Her hand felt numb.

When she tried to lift her hand, a sharp pain hit her nerves.

Her eyes flung open as she winced in pain. Then scanned her environment before the memory of what happened before she blacked out came rushing in.

She was at home with Laera, eating and talking about Tamara's company which had gone bankrupt, and how Laera was praising her for the moves she was making.

Then they heard a knock.

Thinking the men must have come to find them, Laera had pridefully swayed her hips to the door and opened it with a dramatic displeased expression. But the moment she opened the door, she was roughly pushed back that she fell to her butt.

The rest happened so fast.

Someone had attacked them.

They tried to struggle but both got stabbed with an injection in their necks.

Fear surged in Eloise as she remembered what had happened. She looked around the unfamiliar environment.

Her breathing increased with fear.

Then her eyes landed on Laera, who was also lying on the floor with both her hands and legs tied together.

“ Laera, Laera.” She whispered the call.

No answer.

Has the attacker done something to her? Is she okay?

Panicking, Eloise pushes her body to her side and hits her softly but urgently with a part of her body.

“ Laera, Laera—wake up.”

Laera groaned and slowly, she opened her eyes.

“ Are you okay? Laera?” Eloise asked worriedly.

“ Mm.” She moaned and tried to stand up before wincing in pain.

“ Hey, stop, calm down, you can't move.”

Her eyes became fully opened and she became aware of their situation.

She opened her mouth to scream but Eloise was quick to stop her.

“ No, no, don't scream.” Her eyes blinked. “ That would draw the attacker's attention. First, let's try to get away from this, let's get something to cut this rope with.”

She said, looking around for any sharp objects.

“ What's this? Are we being kidnapped?” Laera asked, fear rushing through her veins.

“ I think so.”

“ By who? What did we do?”

“It's probably one of my enemies. I'm sorry for dragging you into this.”

“ Does your enemy know where I stay?

Eloise paused and looked at Laera.

That was right. How did they know where Laera stayed? Were they being followed? If they were after her, they could have taken her but left Laera out of it, why take both of them?

Eloise’s brow wrinkled in confusion.

“ Does anyone know where you stay?”

“ Yes. Oliver.”

“ Oliver can't do this.”

“ No, he can't.”

“ Anyone else?”

“ Hmmm.” She thought for a while before remembering. “ Jeremy.”

“ Jeremy? How did Jeremy know where you live?”

“ I don't know, he just suddenly showed up at my doorstep, but I don't think he's the one.”

“ What makes you think he's not the one?”

Laera’s tongue couldn't move. A cold chill ran down her spine, and hair rose on her skin.

“ But, he has no reason to take you, why would he kidnap you?”

“ Enough talk for now, let's just try to get away from here,” Eloise said and resumed looking around for a sharp object.

Then they heard approaching steps.

They looked at each other, their hearts thudding loudly against their chest, waiting to see who it was that kidnapped them.

Their chest rose as the door slowly opened and the person stepped in.

“ Jeremy?” Laera called with widened eyes.

“ Hey, baby.” He smiled, holding a knife with his gloved hands.

They instinctively moved back, eyes darting to network him and the knife with their heart racing.

“ What are you doing? Why are we here?” Laera asked, shaking.

“ Don't..you miss me?” He asked, crouching to her level at her side. “ I miss you.”

He caressed her cheek, but she moved back, her face twisted in disgust.

His jaw ticked at her reaction. He gritted his teeth.

“ Why are you moving back?” He asked, his voice laced with anger.

“ Why are you doing this? What do you want?” She asked.

“ Are you seriously asking me that? You really do not know what I want, baby?”

Laera gulped in anger and exhaustion. “ I told you many times, it's over between us…”

“ No, it's not, it can never be over between us.” He cut in, breathing in rage. “ I love you.”

“ What about what she said did you not understand?” Eloise intercepted. “ Relationship is not by force.”

“ You.” He pointed, gritting his teeth. “ Shut up.”

“ You guys broke up.”

“ We didn't! We were taking a break.”

“ Doesn't look like that to her.”

“ You know nothing, you have no idea how much I love her.” He yelled.

“ Yet you raise your hands at her!” Eloise yelled back, with no ounce of fear. “ Who beats the one they love?”

“ Just shut up.” He rushed and grabbed her chin roughly.

“ Elly,” Laera shouted in fear, panting as she watched Jeremy’s anger at Eloise's statement.

Eloise tried not to wince in pain, not wanting to give him the fear he wanted to see. Her lips sealed in a thin line as she gritted her teeth, flaring her nose at him.

“ You know nothing about our relationship, you're just her friend. We love each other, what happened was because she provoked me.”

“ Let her go! She does nothing to you, I'm the one you want, please.” Laera pleaded.

He pushed Eloise roughly, letting go of her chin.

He turned to Laera with a smile. “ You see, I did want you to want, I let her go, that's because I love you —you shouldn't be letting someone like her come between us.”

Laera nodded, swallowing hard, not wanting to provoke him.

He grabbed her face and kissed her, but she moved back with a disgusted yelp and cleaned her lips against her shoulder.

Jeremy gritted his teeth and landed a thunderous slap against her cheek. “ How dare you!”

“ Laera!” Eloise shouted.

“ You can't kiss me but you can fuck him? Huh?” He grabbed her chest roughly, pulling her face to himself. “ You slut, how dare you fuck him.”

“ Let go of her!” Eloise shouted at him.

Laera whimpered. Her cheeks hurt, and the slap stung. Her chest tightened with fear, unable to look at him.

“ You think I wouldn't know, that you were screwing your boss?”

“ You coward!” Eloise yelled, wanting him to let go of her, afraid he'd hurt Laera upon seeing how enraged he was. “ You're nothing but a creep, you think stalking her will make her love you? No, you know why? Cause you're nothing but a disgusting piece of shit.”

“ I said you should shut up!” He yelled and landed Eloise a hot slap, forcing her head to tilt to one side.

Her hair fell over half of her face, and beads of sweat trickled from her face to her neck.

She gulped hard, gritting her teeth against the slap that stung.

Before she could muster up more courage, he grabbed her hair and landed a continuous slap.

“ Ah.” She cried at each slap.

“ Stop! Stop, please, Jeremy, don't hurt her! Stop! It is me you want.”

“ She's a bitch.” He fumed, punching Eloise's cheek. “ I know she's the one who introduced you to that bastard, she never wanted you to be with me.” He started kicking her.

Eloise winced and groaned in pain, each hit hurts like hell. Her face was bruised with a cut at the corner of her lips, bleeding.

She curled and whimpered as he kicked her continuously.

“ Jeremy stop!” Laera cried, plead
ing desperately.

He didn't stop till he was exhausted.

Elly wasn't moving.

Leara moved her tied body to her, crying and calling her name, but she wasn't moving.

“ She has to die so no one would come between us,” Jeremy said, smiling like a maniac as he grabbed the knife.
