Chapter 355 I’m Not Leaving
Chapter 355 I’m Not Leaving
Daniela stopped in her tracks and looked up to see Oliver standing beside her in a suit, holding a black-handled umbrella.
His tall, slender figure complemented hers perfectly.
"It's raining. Let me take you back."
Oliver's gentle voice reached Daniela's ears.
It was a voice she once found annoying, but at this moment, it seemed even more annoying.
Because that voice shattered all the strength in her heart in an instant.
She suddenly pushed Oliver away, grabbed the umbrella from his hand, and threw it hard on the ground. Then she stomped on it several times until the umbrella was completely destroyed.
"Oliver, I've already told you - I don't like you. Please stay away from me."
She clenched her fists and said the harshest words to him.
Her eyes were red-rimmed, and tears or rainwater kept sliding down her cheeks.
The autumn rain, cold and icy, quickly soaked through both their clothes.
Like an angry leopard, Daniela vented all her rage, then immediately ran off into the rain and mist.
Was she wrong? What exactly had she done wrong?
She kept asking herself - since childhood, she had worked so hard just to make herself better.
But what was the point of proving herself?
Just as she was running wildly, a large hand suddenly grabbed her.
Then she was swept up in a princess carry.
"Oliver, what are you doing?"
Daniela struggled desperately, but somehow, none of her moves worked on Oliver.
The punches she threw, the slaps she delivered - they clearly made sounds when they hit him, but he didn't budge an inch.
He carried Daniela and strode toward his car.
Then he pulled open the car door and stuffed Daniela inside.
The car roared back into the rain and mist.
Daniela leaned against the back seat. She became very quiet.
Oliver didn't speak either. Both of them seemed to be holding onto their anger.
Where was the car heading? Daniela didn't ask.
She turned her gaze to the window, hugging her arms, coldly watching outside.
Yes, she had once hoped that someone would appear and take her away without hesitation.
Finally, Oliver brought her back to his home.
The car pulled into the courtyard. He opened the door, grabbed Daniela's wrist, and dragged her into the house.
Then he threw Daniela into the bathroom.
"Go take a shower."
He said this and closed the bathroom door with a thud.
A few minutes later, he knocked on the door and said, "I only have men's pajamas here. You'll have to make do."
After saying this, he turned and went to the study.
When Daniela came out after her shower, Oliver was still in the study, soaking wet.
Her emotions had finally calmed down. She curled up on the sofa, hugging a cat-shaped pillow, saying nothing.
Oliver came out of the study, glanced at Daniela, and then he also went to the bathroom.
Ten minutes later, he came out in pajamas, carrying a medical kit.
"Bring your face over here."
He said with a stern face, nothing like his usual refined and elegant self.
This huge contrast was truly surprising.
"I'm fine, I don't need medicine."
Daniela refused.
The face that Martha had slapped was now red and swollen.
Oliver didn't indulge her. Since Daniela wouldn't come over, he stood up and moved toward her.
"I said I don't need it."
Daniela refused again.
Oliver looked down at her from above. "You don't get to decide."
He was very forceful. One hand held her face while the other applied ointment to it, his rough movements carrying a hint of tenderness.
Daniela closed her eyes.
They were too close. The scent of his masculine hormones lingered around her nose.
After applying the medicine, Oliver immediately distanced himself from Daniela.
She looked at him. During her violent struggle earlier, her wild slaps had hit him, and several places on his face were scraped.
She felt a bit guilty and wanted to ask if he needed medicine applied too.
But Daniela didn't speak.
The two just sat there foolishly. After sitting for a while, Oliver stood up.
"This rain won't stop. Tonight I'll sleep in the study, you sleep in the bedroom. Good night."
After saying this, he quickly walked to the study and locked the door behind him.
Daniela went to Oliver's bedroom.
The room was very clean, filled with Oliver's presence everywhere.
There were many figurines in his bedroom, and she looked at them one by one.
She hadn't expected that Oliver, at his age, still had a child living in his heart.
Many of the figurines were game characters she was familiar with.
Soon, she found Oliver's diary under the pillow.
Like Columbus discovering the New World, Daniela immediately climbed onto the bed and burrowed under the covers.
Oliver had a habit of keeping a diary, which was quite unusual to Daniela.
His diary was simple, mostly recording daily life, except that she was a constant character in those entries.
June 23rd, Sunny
Today marks seven years since Daniela and I met. She probably forgot, but I remember. She hasn't been online for a long time, and I have no way to tell her that I've been waiting for her, even thinking about her a lot.
I often go to the Harold Hotel where she used to appear. Of course I know she won't show up again, but just sitting there, breathing the air we once breathed together, makes my heart feel especially warm.
Daniela, I miss you.
It was just an ordinary diary entry, but Daniela was shocked when she read it.
If she remembered correctly, she should have been in Singapore that day.
She had forgotten him, but he had always remembered.
This remembrance was touching.
But before Daniela could feel more moved, there was urgent knocking at the door.
She hurriedly closed the diary and stuffed it back under the pillow.
"What?"
She asked alertly.
Outside the door, Oliver's voice came in, "Open the door, I need to get something."
"Wait a second."
Daniela responded, immediately crawling out from under the covers and straightening her clothes.
Then she got up and opened the door. Oliver quickly walked in, lifted the pillow, grabbed the diary and left.
The door closed again, but Daniela couldn't help laughing.
She didn't know why, but she suddenly found Oliver quite cute.
That night, she slept well in the bedroom filled with Oliver's scent.
When she woke up groggily, it was already the next morning.
The rain had cleared and the sky was bright. Everything was so beautiful.
The air was filled with the aroma of cooking oil.
Daniela hadn't eaten anything last night, and now she was starving.
She opened the bedroom door a crack, peeked out, and saw Oliver's figure moving in the kitchen.
He was wearing pajamas, showing her only his capable back.
She quickly ducked into the bathroom and completed her morning routine as fast as possible.
When she came out, Oliver had already prepared breakfast.
"Let's eat."
Daniela came closer. The table was already set with an elegant breakfast.
Fried eggs, pasta, sausages, and warm milk.
"You made this?"
Daniela asked in surprise.
Oliver sat there elegantly, eating his pasta slowly and methodically.
"Yeah."
He responded, then added, "There's not much food left in the fridge, so today we'll have to make do. I promise next time you come, it can be more lavish."
He had a smile on his lips, looking harmless.
Daniela's face immediately turned red.
She couldn't explain why, but the moment her eyes met Oliver's, she suddenly blushed.
She quickly lowered her head and ate her breakfast rapidly.
"By the way, your clothes have been washed and dried, but they're on the balcony."
Oliver reminded her.
"Thank you."
Daniela quickly thanked him. The rebellious emotions that once filled her had somehow dissipated.
Oliver was very satisfied with this breakfast.
Daniela, on the other hand, ate hastily, choking herself several times.
After eating, Oliver went to the kitchen to clean up, and Daniela quickly went to the balcony to get her clothes and change.
"Thanks for last night. I have things to do, so I'll go now."
Daniela just wanted to escape.
But Oliver stopped her. "Wait a moment, I'll take you out."
"No need."
Daniela refused decisively, then left without stopping.
However, when she got outside, she realized she had been too hasty.
Oliver's apartment building had eight doors in total, but only one was the exit.
She wandered around the building, getting dizzy, but still couldn't find the exit.
Most importantly, in this high-end apartment building, she didn't run into a single living person in broad daylight.
Just when Daniela was getting anxious, Oliver appeared.
His car stopped in front of Daniela. "Get in, I'll take you."
He rolled down the window and said to Daniela gently.
This time, she didn't refuse. She opened the car door and got in.
"You left last night, didn't you? Why did you show up at the hospital again?"
On the way, Daniela asked curiously.
Oliver answered honestly, "I was going to leave, but something delayed me. Later, Martha sent me a message, so I came to find you."
Hearing this, Daniela's heart suddenly felt bitter.
Martha had hit her, and she did resent it a little. But even though she hit Daniela, she still cared about her safety.
"Martha cares about you a lot. She's always been afraid of losing you. Now that your father has appeared, and she knows his purpose, she feels very insecure. Daniela, if you're willing, I want to take you away from here temporarily."
Oliver spoke seriously, but Daniela chose to refuse.
"No, I won't leave Rosewood City."
Oliver had experienced her stubbornness before.
"He didn't come back this time to reunite with you, but to save his son. Daniela, I hope that knowing this, you'll leave with me and put Martha's mind at ease."
Daniela didn't expect to learn the truth so soon.
But after learning the truth, she wasn't angry. Instead, she became calmer.
"Even so, I still won't leave."
She was very firm.
