Chapter 72

Chapter 72
ADRIEN

The second we got back to my condo, I knew I wasn't going to make it to the bed without getting my hands on her.

We were both still a little wet from the quick rinse we took by the pool—trying to get the chlorine off, not that either of us really gave a damn.

Kaia looked like every fantasy I've ever had, and the tension from earlier was still burning in my chest like a live wire.

I barely managed to shut the door before my mouth found hers again. Fuck, I could never get tired of kissing her. Her lips were soft but demanding, like she was just as desperate for this as I was.

We stumbled backward into my bedroom, knocking into the wall along the way, laughing against each other's lips.

I sat down on the edge of the bed, breathless, pulling her closer as she stood in front of me. My hands slid along her thighs, slow and deliberate.

She pulled back just a little, and we locked eyes—both of us quiet for a moment, like we were both waiting for the other to break first.

And she did.

She reached up and untied the knot behind her neck, her bikini top falling away, and all I could do was stare up at her like she was some goddess that just decided I was worthy.

"Wow," I muttered, low and reverent, running a hand through my damp hair as I tried to breathe again.

She straddled me, skin on skin, and my entire brain short-circuited. I gripped her hips, pulling her closer, and she leaned down, kissing me with a heat that made my chest tighten and my stomach flip.

I could feel every inch of her pressed against me, and it was driving me absolutely insane.

I broke the kiss just long enough to breathe against her mouth.

"You're gonna be the death of me, you know that?"

She smirked, eyes wild with the same fire I felt burning through me, and whispered, "Good."

I laughed, but it was short-lived, because the next second I flipped her onto the bed, caging her in beneath me.

Her hair was sprawled across my pillow, and she looked up at me like she already knew exactly how this night was going to end.

"You're fucking gorgeous," I murmured, kissing her jaw, her neck, the curve of her shoulder. "You don't even get it."

She let out a breathy sound that made me groan against her skin. I kept going, down her body, trailing kisses and murmuring between each one.

"I've wanted this for so long..."

I reached her hips, glanced up at her, and she was already watching me—eyes dark, chest rising and falling fast.

"Adrien..." she breathed out.

"Shh," I said, teasing, kissing along her thigh. "Let me take care of you."

And I did.

Every sound she made, every way her body moved under mine—it just made me want to keep going. I wanted to memorize every reaction.

She started to writhe, legs trembling, trying to squirm away, but I gripped her thighs and pulled her back toward me, rougher than before.

"Don't move," I warned, voice low and rough. "I'm not done with you."

"Adrien—" she gasped.

I cut her off with a smirk, glancing up at her.

"My mom always told me not to leave the table without finishing my food," I said. "So you can beg all you want, baby—I'm not going anywhere."

And then I showed her exactly what I meant by that.

By the time I kissed my way back up her body, I could feel her heart racing underneath me like a drum that wouldn't slow down—hell, mine was right there with hers.

Her skin was flushed and warm, her lips parted, her chest rising and falling as she tried to catch her breath. And fuck, I couldn't stop looking at her.

I pressed my lips to hers again—slow this time, deep—and while she was still tasting herself on my tongue, I reached over to my nightstand, pulled open the drawer, and grabbed a condom.

My fingers shook a little. Not because I was nervous. No. Because everything about this moment felt... special.

I paused. Looked at her—really looked at her.

Hair messy against the pillow. Eyes soft and wide. Skin glowing from everything we just did. And she was staring up at me like I was the only damn person who existed in her world.

"Are you sure you want this, baby?" I asked quietly, brushing my thumb against her cheek.

She didn't say anything right away. Instead, she reached up, her fingers lightly grazing the side of my face before settling at the back of my neck.

She nodded.

And fuck, that little nod did something to me.

I kissed her again, slower now, pouring every bit of emotion into it. Then I guided myself forward and pushed in gently, feeling her tense around me—tight, warm, like we were made to fit just like this.

She gasped, her nails digging into my shoulders, and I paused, my forehead pressing against hers.

"That's not even all of it," I murmured with a smirk.

Her lips parted in shock, and I couldn't help but smirk as I kissed her again—deeper this time—while slowly pushing in the rest of the way, my mouth swallowing the soft, desperate sound that slipped past her lips.

"Breathe," I whispered, kissing her jaw, her neck. "You're doing so good. So fucking good."

She wrapped her arms around my shoulders, her body trembling slightly underneath me, and every part of me felt like it was melting into her.

I moved slowly, deliberately, savoring every inch, every shiver, every broken sound from her throat.

"Fuck, Kaia," I murmured, my lips brushing against her ear.

Then, without thinking—without planning—I whispered the words that had been sitting in my chest since the moment I saw her again.

"I love you," I breathed against her ear, my voice low, shaky.

She stilled for a second—then tightened her arms around me, so small under me, so warm—and whispered the same words back.

"I love you too."

That was it. That was the moment I let go of every wall I'd ever built. That was the moment I gave her every part of me—body, soul, everything.

And I swear, I'd never felt more whole in my entire life.

OoO

I came back into the room carrying a fresh shirt, a pair of my boxers, and a warm cloth.

She was right where I left her—curled up under my sheets, face half-lit by the glow of her phone screen.

She looked small, soft, fucking perfect, and completely unaware of the effect she had on me just by existing in my bed.

I smiled to myself.

Sliding back into bed, I shifted closer, the mattress dipping with my weight. She didn't look up, just kept scrolling—probably watching cat videos or book TikToks again.

I leaned in, kissed her bare shoulder and whispered, "Brought you something."

She murmured a soft "thank you" but started to roll over toward me.

I stopped her gently, palm to her hip.

"No, don't move. Just keep doing whatever you were doing." I kissed her shoulder again. "I've got you."

She blinked, a little surprised, but did as I said. That kind of trust? Shit, it did something dangerous to my heart.

I slowly began to wipe down her arms and shoulders with the warm cloth, taking my time and being gentle with every movement.

She closed her eyes, and I watched the tension in her brow relax as the cloth moved over her.

I smiled, dragging it carefully down her spine, along her sides, and finally between her thighs, where I moved even slower.

Her body twitched slightly, sensitive, and I kissed the side of her knee just because I couldn't help myself.

"Relax," I said quietly. "I'm just taking care of what's mine."

She let out a soft breath and closed her eyes. I could see the exhaustion catching up to her, the kind that comes after a night like ours—satisfying, messy, and long.

I pressed a kiss to her hip.

"Sorry if I was too rough with you earlier."

She opened her eyes, a tired smirk on her lips.

"You mean when you told me not to move while you tried to ruin my life?"

I huffed a laugh.

"No regrets. You sounded like you liked your life being ruined."

She playfully kicked me under the covers.

"I'm serious, though," I added, lowering my voice. "If it was too much..."

"It wasn't," she whispered. "It was perfect."

Fuck. That hit me straight in the chest.

She sat up slowly, and I handed her the boxers. She slipped them on under the covers, and I helped her sit up, pulling my shirt over her head.

The second she was dressed, I pulled her back into my arms and wrapped myself around her like I couldn't stand the thought of space between us.

Her head rested on my chest, our legs tangled, the room filled with nothing but the soft sound of her breathing. I kissed the top of her head.

"Get some rest, baby. You've had a long day."

She nodded against my chest, letting out a soft sigh as her hand found mine and laced our fingers together.

And just like that, everything slowed down—like time gave us this one quiet moment to breathe, to exist, to be okay.

And with her in my arms like this... I was.
