Chapter 110
The young woman held onto Jaden Gabe's shoulder tightly.
She pressed herself against Pearly's soft and fragrant body, causing her to moan as she felt the lively part of her body. Her legs were still wrapped around his waist, preventing her from falling. "Wow..." Pearly gasped with a smile. "It's okay," she said as she reached for his lips. After a few minutes, they both pulled away, both sweating. "It's not okay," she continued to breathe heavily. "The word 'okay' is not enough. What we had was extraordinary. It was amazing. You are amazing, my love." She hugged him tightly. "But my body is still shaking, I don't know when I'll get used to having a superman as my boyfriend." She smiled at his words. "I don't know what else we can do besides this." She chuckled. "Can you take me to the moon? Huh, superman?"
They were not on the bed, nor in the bathtub, but they were still in her room. They were on the ceiling. Pearly was leaning against the ceiling, and he was holding her body in the air. He smiled and kissed her on the forehead. "Rest, superwoman."
"Okay, I'm really tired..." They both fell onto the bed, causing it to creak loudly. She was underneath Pearly. She chuckled and slapped him on the arm. "I really didn't expect to experience that," she said with innocent eyes. For him, the innocence in her eyes had not disappeared. Even in her entire being, she was still the same Pearly. His little Pearly.
"Why?" he asked, concerned. She looked at him. "How are we going to explain the situation to our future children?"
"Situation?" "Yes... that you don't age. And how will I explain your abilities if they see them?" He was speechless. After a while, she smiled again. "I wonder who they will take after? You or me? Maybe they'll take after you." She forced a smile, struggling with the thought that she might not be able to give her children. "Cute vampire babies!" she said happily. "Oh, I really can't believe this is true."
At another time, Jaden Gabe might have laughed. Pearly was making a joke out of their situation, as if it were a simple matter for her. As if she didn't see that what was happening and what would happen were complicated. "Won't you make me a vampire?" he asked, surprised. "Because," she continued, "I'll grow old, and I won't be able to take care of our children. Especially if they take after you." He caressed her cheek. "Hey, what? Just make me a vampire. Because maybe when I get old, and my skin wrinkles and my hair turns white, you'll find someone else."
"Not gonna happen." "Well, make me like you to be sure. It's hard. You won't be able to beat me up when you're flirting with other women when I'm old and frail." Jaden Gabe chuckled weakly. "Do you really want that?" She nodded, smiling. "I want to be with you for a long time..."
As he looked at her innocent face, something tugged at his heart. He wasn't sure if the 'long time' she was talking about was something she could handle. 'Long time' could mean hundreds of years, or even thousands of years. Helios was right, Pearly would have a hard time with the kind of life that awaited her if she became like them. She wouldn't be able to do the things she was used to, or even eat her favorite food. Because if she became a vampire, she would have to give up all mortal activities, including making friends and interacting with normal people. And like the turned vampires like Lucille, Pearly would also thirst for fresh blood and weaken under the sun.
"I love you," he whispered as he stroked her hair. She only groaned in response. Pearly slowly succumbed to exhaustion and fell asleep on his chest. "Goodnight, my love. I'm here, I won't leave you," he kissed her head. "I want to spend the rest of my life with you..." He felt her smile, and as her breathing deepened, Jaden Gabe's heart was filled with sadness. He held her tightly. "I'm sorry, love... I'm sorry..." No matter how much he loved her, and no matter how much he gave her, it would never be enough. He would never be good enough for her. He would never be good for her. Simply because he's not mortal.
He wasn't able to give her a child, a family, a normal life.
Early in the morning, Jaden Gabe offered to take her to Manila. Her graduation was on Saturday night, so she needed to return to the university. He would only be there until two o'clock, so he would pick her up in the afternoon.
"Jaden Gabe, it's still early. Can we go to Limay first?" He paused. It was only a two-hour drive from Dalisay to Bataan. "Please?" She gave him puppy eyes. "Just for a little while. I'll visit Aunt Pat." Jaden Gabe grabbed the steering wheel. Pearly clapped her hands in joy. She even leaned over to reach him and kissed him on the cheek. "Hey, you might crash." She chuckled. "As if you would!" Jaden Gabe just shook his head. "Thank you, okay? I really want to visit Aunt Pat." He just nodded. He didn't say anything else. Even when they were at the cemetery, Jaden Gabe didn't speak. They only stayed for a moment at his aunt's grave because it started to drizzle, and they didn't have an umbrella. "The sky is so sad. It's summer, but it's being dramatic," she said as she held Jaden Gabe's hand, but he didn't return the squeeze as she was used to. She thought Jaden Gabe was just lost in thought, but he remained silent even when they were in the car. Until they reached Manila, he was still quiet. "Is it okay if we also stop by Ate Ana's grave?" she asked her boyfriend. It took a long time for him to answer. "Okay..." Jaden Gabe didn't get out of the car because his cousin's grave was just aCriss the road inside the cemetery. "Text me when you're almost here, okay?" She kissed Jaden Gabe on the cheek before getting out of the car. They were already in front of the gate of Pearly's university. He just nodded.
"Pearly."
"Oh, what?" She looked back at Jaden Gabe's car window. She leaned over to peek inside. "Do you have something to say?" He looked at her for a long time, then shook his head. "N-nothing." She chuckled. "Hmm, you miss me already, don't you?" When Jaden Gabe gave her a faint smile, she finally breathed a sigh of relief. Finally, he smiled, even if it was just a little. She laughed softly. "Come on, smile again." He furrowed his brow. "Come on, please? Just for good luck. You've been serious the whole time, you look constipated." He chuckled weakly. "Go inside, Miss."
"Yes!" Pearly happily punched the air. "Finally, I heard your laugh, Mister!" Despite Jaden Gabe's exasperation with her antics, he was already smiling. "How will I leave now? Drive safely, okay?" She blew a flying kiss before entering the university gate. "Bye-bye, love!"
Pearly was already tired of sitting on the bench. She had been pacing back and forth for a while. She had been sitting and standing, walking back and forth. Her head was already hurting from the heat of the sun, and her neck and back were already sweating. "Rish, we're leaving!" Her friends waved at her. They had already left her, even though it had been two hours since she said goodbye to them and told them she was going home. She thought Jaden Gabe was already outside the university. They had agreed to meet at two o'clock. It was already four o'clock, and Jaden Gabe still hadn't arrived. She was worried. She kept looking at her watch. An hour passed, and Jaden Gabe still hadn't arrived. Her phone rang at five o'clock. She hurriedly checked it, only to be disappointed to see that it was Lucille who had texted her. She had asked Lucille if she had seen Jaden Gabe. Her heart sank when she read Lucille's message. 'Yes, Jaden Gabe was here at the
mansion earlier. He was listening to music in the study room while having coffee.' Pearly sadly sighed. She had no choice but to go home alone.
