Chapter 135 VICTORIA'S DAUGHTER
Chapter 135 VICTORIA'S DAUGHTER
Isabella rubbed her palms together before bringing them to her legs.
She winced, bending down a little. “I knew I said I wanted you, but not with you fucking me and now letting the whole world know.”
She turned accusingly to Lucien. “I'm pretty sure the guards would have heard me screaming your name all night.”
Lucien's smile was mischievous as he walked towards her. “You're mine, Izzy. I think they know that by now.”
“Yeah, tell that to the other people we have to meet later.” She wasn't going to back down easily.
Lucien grinned, his hands tracing bite marks around her neck. “If memory serves me right, then I remember you screaming my name and telling me not to stop.”
Isabella blushed. Unable to hold his gaze, she looked away. “If memory also serves me right, that was in the heat of the moment. And,” she retorted, raising her hands to stop Lucien from commenting.
“The agreement was to sleep through the night, and fuck this morning.”
“Hearing you say the word raw, makes me want to take you in, all over again,” Lucien said, taking one step closer towards her.
“Have I told you how much I love hearing you say the words?” He moved closer to her, taunting her with his hot breath on her face.
Isabella shuddered from the excitement of having Lucien so close to her. She could feel her legs shaking, her heart beating so fast.
Last night had been intense. The excitement had been matchless. They needed a getaway soon. But for now, they had more pressing matters to attend to.
“As much as I would love to continue, we have a lot on our plates today, your Majesty.” Her voice could not hide the disappointment her heart conveyed.
Lucien chuckled, before dragging her breach, right out of her hands. “I've got a better idea.” He grinned, tossing the breach far away from her.
Isabella’s eyes narrowed, her lips getting wet. “What are you doing, Lucien?” Her voice had risen by a tempo from the excitement.
“Wanna have a taste of Red Walls, while still in Crestwood?” He asked, his eyes twinkling mischievously.
She nodded hesitantly. “What's the criteria?” She asked carefully. Knowing Lucien, his mind ran wild and could do the unthinkable.
“Then let's give you a taste.” He said in finality, raising her dress as his eyes ran through it. “I don't think you should wear this.”
Isabella glanced at the dress. It was one of her favourites. One that allowed her quick mobility for days like this. “What would you suggest?”
She asked, ignoring her comfort and pumped for whatever Lucien had in mind. A part of her couldn't believe she was playing along.
Lucien gave a soft nod as he walked to her closet, fishing out a red gown with slits up to her knees.
Isabella shook her head in shock. “It's not a ball, Lucien. This is a serious matter.” She sighed.
“I think you're forgetting something.” Her voice had a melancholic tone to it.
“Make me understand, baby.” Lucien matched her tone, drawing her closer to himself.
Isabella sighed, allowing herself to rest in his embrace. “I'm a woman and worse, I only just got accepted.”
“Nonsense,” Lucien hissed slightly, waving her concerns away. “I don't think anyone would dare. Not with your current exploits.”
Isabella looked away. “That's cause they're not saying it to your face.” She paused. “The rumours are still being peddled, Lucien. We can't hear it does not mean that they have stopped.”
Lucien chuckled. “This about what the Red Walls General said?” His face darkened.
Isabella looked away. As much as she'd tried not to think about it all night, it had continuously sneaked up on her. “No, it's not.” She lied.
“C’mon, Izzy.” Lucien cajoled. “You really think I would treat you that way?”
“It's not you.” She countered. “You don't think like that, but I can see it in the way they look at me, in the way they speak. Like I would never fully hold authority over them.”
She sighed, taking the clothes from his hands and folding and refolding. “Perhaps, I'm just being paranoid.”
“No, you're not.” Lucien corrected almost immediately. “We're gonna fix that, but for now, let's get you something more beautiful to wear.”
Isabella blushed. On days like this, she was grateful to have Lucien by her side. He knew the right things to say at the right time.
“Hold on a second,” Lucien took a step back, his eyes running all over her body. “You can walk, can't you? It would be a damn shame, having the whole court see such a private moment.”
Isabella rolled her eyes, shaking her head. “Yeah, cause you suddenly care.” Her voice dripped with sarcasm.
Lucien twisted his face in mock horror. “I've always cared.”
Isabella giggled, walking carefully to the closet. “What do you have planned for me today, King Lucien Blackthorn?”
Lucien shrugged. “Easy access.” His eyes hovered around Isabella’s many dresses. “This should do.” He said, snatching a black dress.
Isabella looked impressed, smiling a little. “Black.” She muttered. “That's new.”
“Of course, it's new. I pay attention.” He chuckled, drawing her closer to himself.
“You're also gonna help me dress?” Isabella joked. “Beth could do that.”
“I'm aware,” Lucien said dryly. “I also know that you love it when I help you dress.”
Her cheeks reddened as she looked away. She'd also begun noticing it about her. She was becoming too dependent on Lucien.
“Which of course, I love and accept wholeheartedly.” She added hurriedly, with a knowing smile.
“Then we'd better get to it,” Lucien grunted as he helped her to the table. “The court awaits your greatness, your Majesty.” He bowed slightly.
“You think she's ready to adapt?” Isabella asked Lucien unsure as they watched Lila with her new tutor.
The little girl seemed wary and looked like she was ready to bolt out of there as soon as she got the opportunity to.
Lucien nodded. “She will. She's stronger than she looks.”
She shook her head. It was taking a lot of willpower not to take over the lessons herself, but she knew she couldn't overstep.
As it was, helping Lila integrate back into society was part of her personal mission.
“She's not as scared as you,” Lucien commented, his voice low so as not to distract the little girl and her tutor.
“Is it really that obvious?” She was asking the obvious, but she couldn't care less.
“You've got a bad poker face.” Lucien continued. “I'm pretty sure she knows what you're thinking.”
Isabella shook her head. “Can't help it, then. She doesn't deserve to go through all of these.”
“No, she doesn't,” Lucien affirmed, stopping low to accept Elias into his arms. “Hey little man, ready for your new friend?”
Elias nodded, interest in his eyes. “She's gonna like me, yeah?”
Isabella chuckled. She could feel Elias's excitement at the chance of having a new friend.
“That's if you don't bore her with irrelevant things.” Lucien continued.
Isabella stifled her laughter. Lucien was right. Elias's interest in weird things could bore everyone out of their minds.
Instead, she knelt, matching up to his height. “Of course, she's going to like you, baby. Who wouldn't?”
Lucien snorted, rising back to his feet. He wasn't a huge fan of making Elias feel good.
“She's coming.” He heard Isabella whisper to Elias. “Go on, say hi.” She pushed him, before rising back to her full height.
They watched as Elias walked slowly to Lila. “Hi.” The little boy stretched his hands.
“I'm Elias.”
Lila glanced at the boy in front of her, with his hands stretched towards her. He looked harmless enough.
Hesitantly, she took his hands. “Lila. I heard you're the prince.”
Isabella hid her surprise. No one around had introduced Elias as the prince.
She could only arrive at one conclusion. Years of being imprisoned had taught Lila how to discern.
“If that's what they call it these days.” Elias shrugged. “You wanna see the Library, Lila?”
Isabella and Lucien groaned inwardly. Trust Elias to bring up books.
“Showing her around would have earned you points, boy,” Lucien said under his breath, disappointed at Elias’s lack of game.
“There's a library here?” Lila asked, surprised.
Elias nodded. “Or I could show you the garden. Although the library is my favourite place.”
“Okay,” Lila nodded.
“Okay?” Elias was confused. “The library or the garden?”
“Both,” Lila said as a matter of fact. “We could see the Library first, then see the garden.”
He nodded in excitement, before turning to his parents.
Lucien nodded in approval. “Just be careful and do not go in too deep, Elias.”
They watched as Elias took Lila’s hands and made their way to the library.
“Phew!” Isabella sighed in relief. “That was close.”
“Just luck.” Lucien countered. “He's got to improve.”
Isabella shook her head at Lucien's haughtiness. “He's just seven.”
Lucien shrugged. “Yeah, until he's no longer seven.”
