After the fire Emily went back home to pack up her stuff, the plan was to grab a few things and exit the country as fast she could, she had purchased a ticket online and she was scheduled for a flight at 8pm. She desperately grabbed her clothes other essential goods and her next stop was the airport she thought she could make it before the authorities started investigating the fire incident but boy was she wrong, the police met up with her and invited her to the police station,

At that moment all she could think about were her fans online, what an embarrassment it would be if they found out that she had been picked up by the police, so she decided to surrender instead of fighting back which would cause a bigger scene.

“I will go with you please don’t cuff me or anything.” she replied and lifted both hands in surrender.

Deon sat at the police station waiting for Emily’s arrival, it was getting darker and colder when he saw the police leading Sara in, there were a lot of reporters and paparazzi trying to get pictures of her.

Deon sat up when he saw her being escorted in with handcuffs slammed on her wrists. He didn’t think this day would ever come when he would see someone from the Hughes family in handcuffs, what had happened?

He stared at her and as they entered the police station her eyes met his, she smirked and quickly looked away. The situation in which she found herself was embarrassing so looking away was her only option.

The next person to walk in was Nathan, he also smirked when he saw Deon. He was the one who had told Lola everything about Nancy’s arrest, he was the one who started the rumors about Nancy and Deon dating. He planned it all to put enmity between Nancy and Deon and make Nancy uncomfortable at her workplace, he then offered her a job then hacked her phone. Created problems for her which forced her to resign. He was satisfied with how things turned out, and he knew both Nancy and Deon would never know that he was behind it all.

Deon walked up to him, “Wait,” he called out.
Nathan stopped in his tracks, “yes?”

“Has Carina been found?” he curiously asked.
Nathan stared at him, “Since when have you cared about her?”

“I’ve always cared,” he replied.
“Oh shut up!” Nathan replied, “If you cared so much then you would watch the news.” he quickly walked away to prevent any further chatter with Deon.

Deon was about to go back to his seat when Harry came walking in, he was in a baseball cap trying to avoid the reporters but stopped when he saw Deon.

“Good to see you Harry, has Carina been found? Is she safe?”
Harry frowned, the fact that he knew who he was and still went ahead and kissed his wife made him so angry to see him again, 

“Is she alright?” he asked again drawing closer to him, before he knew it Harry punched him in the face,
“Don’t you dare talk to me like we are friends.” he said and hurried away.

Deon held his nose and screamed as Harry disappeared inside the police station.

“Damn it! Damn it!” he cried.
Not only had his house burned down but his nose was broken too. He didn’t complain, he knew he deserved whatever he was getting.

As he clutched his nose in pain Emily was finally dragged in, their eyes met and she burst into tears thinking it would work on him like all those tears had, but this time it didn’t, Deon looked away and followed her inside.

He sat face to face with her as she cried, 

“You must hate me now, but I hate you too.” she cried. “How many women did you impregnate?”

“You are crazy if you think what that girl told you was true, she was only getting back at me because she thought I made her lose her job. Why didn’t you try to confirm the truth? Why did you have to burn my apartment?” Deon yelled in pain.

Emily looked horrified when she heard Deon’s side of the story,

“What?”
“Emily, I won’t forgive you this time, you listened to a stranger and committed arson, this hurts so badly and I won’t let it go. I am pressing charges.” he said.

She shook her head, “You should understand me, I thought it was true..” 

“I don’t care about whatever your explanation may be, I have made up my mind. You will go to jail.”
He left the police station that night with nowhere in mind to go. He ended up at Nancy’s place, she opened the door with a sad look on her face.

“I have nowhere to stay, so you will provide me with shelter till I find a place.”
“Don’t you have any friends? Why here?”

“Because this is all your fault,” Deon said sternly as she walked inside the house, Nancy didn’t fight him she knew she was also about to lose her house if she didn’t get help so she let him in and they both spent the night in her house without anyone saying another word to the next person. Deon slept peacefully in the next room, while Nancy slept in her room. The next day she made them breakfast and as they ate they watched the news.

“Breaking News” it read on the screens, “4 members of the Hughes family including former CEO arrested,”

They both stared at each other and back at the screen, Harry was giving a statement, 

“Hughes Foods will be operating under a new management, we are in our new era there will be no breaches or any shady business whatsoever. Keep supporting us and we won’t let you down.”

Nancy admired him on the screen, “do you think he and Carina would ever get back together” she asked Deon, who shrugged
