Chapter 74 CHAPTER SEVENTY FOUR
EMILY’S POV
“What?” we all muttered out in shock. I wasn’t supposed to be about to give birth for at least another month.
“Are you sure about this?” Castor asked what was on our minds.
“I am not, but you need to move, so I can conduct enough tests to be sure.” Rachel says, glancing at Anthony who was currently in her way.
Anthony quickly stepped out of her way, running his hands through his hair.
I screamed out as another sharp wave of pain slammed through my stomach, grunting as I squeezed Roman’s hands tightly.
“Can the experiment be the reason why the birth is coming out now?”Anthony asked Rachel who was currently running around gathering different stuff.
She paused, glanced at me, before running back to my scan.
Beside me, Killian was groaning loudly, holding his head.
I screamed out again, with Killian also doing the same. I guess it worked both ways huh, he could also feel the pain I was going through.
And not just Killian, everyone in the building.
“You have to shut off your mental connection.” Rachel screamed at me, holding her head as she fell to the floor. Screaming as the pain I was feeling passed through each of them.
“I don’t know how,” I gritted out, screaming again as another wave of pain racked through my body. I howled out, screaming as my legs broke out, stretching into long strong hind legs.
“What’s going on?” I asked, mind linking with Chiara.
“You need to breathe, calm down, let me give birth to our child.” Chaira told me, sending calming energy into me.
“It’s going to be alright,” Roman gritted out, at this point, our hands were joined tightly together.
“I am so sorry,” I mutter. I was causing him and the others pain, and I didn't even know how to turn whatever mental gate I had opened off.
I screamed again as my head cracked open, sharp strong jaws elongated out.
I fell out of the chair I was lying on, howling painfully as my body went through the most terrifying, painful transformation ever.
“Emily…, Emily.” Someone called, making me groan out.
I blinked, confused. I could have sworn just moments ago, I was at Anthony’s cave, going through one of the most painful transformations.
I glanced down at my stomach, sighing out in relief at my very noticeable bulge.
Has it all been a dream?
Did the experiment work or was I dead?
“Emily…,” that same voice called out urgently now.
I turned my head to the side, blinking at the sight before me.
I was in a cell, a very familiar cell.
My mum crouched down close to me, gently lifting me up.
“Mum..,” I whispered out, “what’s going on?”
“You are astra projecting. I can feel you more clearly now, how is this possible?”
“The last with this kind of power was my grandfather.”
“I don’t know,” I say, standing up. I take in the cell, noticing how much better it looked than the last time I was here.
Even my mum looked so much better.
“You have to shut it off,” she told me, glancing around. “We are safe for now, but very soon, and with how open your mental connection is, it won’t be long before they sense your present.”
“Where are you?” I asked instead. “I can save you, but you need to tell me where you are.”
“We don’t have time for that, besides I don’t have any idea where I am. We keep changing, it’s hard to keep track.”
“Now listen to me. I want you to concentrate…,”
“Emily..,” another deep voice spoke out, startling the both of us.
We turned, while I sighed out in relief, moving closer to where a very confused Roman stood.
“What’s going on?” he asked, taking my hands in his.
“I don’t know, how are you here?” I asked, also confused about his presence.
“You are stronger than I thought,” my mom whispered out, moving closer to the both of us.
“It seems you can also pull anyone into your consciousness. Which is both fascinating and very dangerous.”
“We need to shut of your mental consciousness now,” she whispered out sharply
“Is this your mother?” Roman whispered out,
“I am sorry, hello ma, it’s an honor to meet you, irrespective of the circumstances.” He says.
My mum nodded her head at him. taking my hands.
“Now I want you to focus, think of a strong wall, you can design it anyhow you want, make it strong, impenetrable.”
“Now, place that wall at the front of your mind, block the access.”
I sighed out, closed my eyes, before imagining a thick strong steel door, with different tricks and shapes in case someone tries to access my mind.
Finally, I pushed out the strong penetrating force I could feel, slamming hard against my door.
My mum gasped loudly, flying back.
I opened my eyes, rushing towards her. “I am so sorry, I didn't mean to do that," I told her, helping her stand up.
“It’s ok, I am glad, it means the walls you have put up are really strong.”
“Now, we need to send your friend back. It’s dangerous for him to stay here too long.”
“What? No, I feel fine.” Roman exclaimed, backing away from me.
“I am sorry, but my mum is right. You feel fine here, but your human body will soon be dead, your soul lost in limbo if you remain here.”
I placed my hands on his forehead, willing him back.
“Is that your mate?” My mum asked quietly.
“Yes,” I told her, moving towards the bar. If only I could peek outside, I could have a sense of where she was.
“You have not yet completed the mating bond with him, you need to do that soon, that way, you can give birth successfully.”
“What?” I asked, turning towards her. “I thought all I needed to do was become my true self?”
“Yes, that is important, but you are not an ordinary wolf, neither are your babies. You need your mate's energy. It’s the way the moon goddess wants it to be.”
I nodded my head, thanking her.
“Don’t,” she mutters, coming to stand close to me. “They would notice you are here, I can't explain it, but they have their methods of doing things that’s unexplainable.”
“You need to leave, there is something urgent you are supposed to be doing.”
“Just a sneak peek, I promise, I will get out immediately if I sense trouble, but I need to know where you are, or who these people are.”
Before my mom could say anything else, I walked out of her cell, moving through the dungeon.
Different cells were lined up, each filled with different experiments.
I entered another place that seemed to be a lab. A young doctor was seated, different parts of a werewolf scattered all over the table as he wrote something down on the books in his hands.
What kind of sick experiments were these people running?
I walked further, this time around, it was a room full of scientists. An old man was in a similar tube like the one I had been in, while a Werewolf still alive from what I could tell was in the other tub close to him, different strings and tubs connected between them.
“More..,” a tall white haired man screamed out coldly, his sharp glare focused on the researcher in front of him.
“Si-r, the man stammered out. “Any more, and it would kill him.”
“I don’t care, I need this done today.” He turned, his dark deep cold eyes staring into my own.
I gasped, moving back at the intensity. I know he couldn’t see me, but the way he was currently staring, I swear it’s like he could actually see me.
He cocked his head to the side, a wicked grin on his lips.
“Well.., well, what do we have here?” he whistled out, smirking.
I didn’t hesitate, I ran out of there as fast as I could, thinking about my body.
I jerked up, breathing out as I took in the familiar sights of Anthony’s lab.
Immediately, everyone surrounded me.
I was back to my human form, the pain I felt earlier a dull ache.
“How are you?” Anthony asked, leaning down a little.
“I am fine, but I need to tell you something urgently.” I paused, glancing around.
“Where’s Roman?” I asked.
Anthony kept quiet for a while, while my heart rate increased painfully.
“We don’t know what happened,” Rachel spoke out, breaking the silence.
“But Roman has fallen into a coma, or something of that sort.”
