Chapter 162 Chapter one hundred and sixty three
EMILY’S POV
Emily………..
Opening my eyes groggily, I moaned out at the pain throbbing through my whole body.
Blinking rapidly, I held in the scream threatening to burst from my throat, slowly sitting up as every path of my body protested violently.
Where was I?
The last thing I remembered was being tortured by that lunatic, and just when I thought I would die, I heard Roman.
I don’t know if it was my imagination, or somehow Roman had found a way to break whatever had been keeping our connection apart.
“Emily……”
“Chaira…, where the fuck have you been?” I cried out, groaning as I dragged my aching body, resting against the wall behind me.
“I don’t know, it’s almost like I was asleep, just floating in an endless abyss. I suspect Zed has done something to this ship to suppress me, and the metal cuffs on your leg aren't helping.”
Whimpering a bit, I stretch out my aching limbs, sighing out in exhaustion.
“Roman, I heard his voice.”
“Yes, Roman broke me out of my slumber. I didn’t have enough time to talk to him, but Emily. I am not yet strong enough, we must act as if I am still buried. But first, we need to contact Roman.”
“How do we do that? If what you say is true, then whatever Zed did should block anything we do.”
“You need to astral project. Whatever Roman did left me with enough strength. But I can only hold on for a short while, we need to be fast.” Chaira says.
“Ok, how do we do that?” I asked tiredly.
“Close your eyes, think hard about Roman, about the voice you heard. Hold onto it, let it lead you to him.”
I closed my eyes, breathing out slowly.
Please, moon goddess if you can hear me, please let this work.
Gasping, I jerked upright, clutching my chest, something had woken me up.
I turned towards my right. Voices could be heard, coming from all directions.
Slowly I stood up from the bed I was laying on, scanning my surroundings.
I was in a long hallway, a tiny bed I had been laying on in the middle, with different colored doors at each side.
“Chaira…, Chaira…..” I cried out, turning around as different voices came from the doors.
“Emily, we don’t have much time. You need to find Roman.” Chaira says suddenly from behind me.
“But how, where do all these doors lead to?” I asked Chaira, moving forward a bit.
“Each of these doors contain pieces of Romans life. You need to find the right door.” Chaira whispered out.
“But, it’s different. It’s never been like this before, I didn't have to go through every door before.”
“Roman seems to have created a safe guard in his consciousness. Hurry, we don’t have much time.”
I turned towards the red door in front of me, breathing out shakily, before pushing the door open.
Immediately I stepped foot inside, I was falling into endless darkness.
I screamed loudly, calling for Chaira as laughter rang out around me.
Suddenly, I was back in the hallway, standing in front of another door.
I don’t know how long I kept going through different doors, each a different memory or something else Chaira had to drag me away from.
“We can’t keep doing this. Time is running out, and the doors are still many. We need to find another solution.” Chaira mutters, looking around.
“I don’t know, what do we do?” I asked.
“There must be something else. You are Roman’s mate, and you share a deeper kind of connection with him that most mates don’t have. The moon goddess gave you a gift, Emily. Use that gift. Find Roman.”
I closed my eyes, focusing and honing my senses. My eyes snapped open. I was standing in front of a small green door, the sound of the ocean crashing dangerously against it.
I turned towards Chaira. “What if all these is just Zed’s way of playing with me. This could be Zed’s experiment and I wouldn’t know. I don’t remember falling asleep.”
“Emily, we don’t have much time. Going through that door is the only way to be sure this isn’t an experiment.”
I nodded, pushing open the door, slowly stepping inside.
I was standing on a ship, a large one, though nothing compared to Zed’s ship.
Roman was standing on the docks, his arms folded across his chest.
“Roman.” I cried out, running towards him.
At the sound of his name, he turned, standing in shock as I crashed into his chest.
“Emily, I can't believe this. I thought my message didn’t get through.”
“Roman, I am so so happy to see you.”
Roman hugged me, his strong arms around me as he kissed my forehead.
“I miss you so much. Are you ok?” He asked, slightly moving me back as his eyes roamed over my body.
Tears run down my face, anguish and happiness swirling through my heart.
“I am not ok Roman. I am trying, but I don’t know how long I can hold off before Zed breaks me.”
“Listen to me. You are Emily Snow Red. A true Alpha. Zed can not break you. You are strong Emily, stronger than you know. Fight him, hold out, I promise to find you.”
I nodded my head, smiling at Roman. “I miss you so much, everyday. The thought of you and our children is what keeps me going.”
“The twins are fine, the pack is under good hands for now. Our unborn child?”
“Fine, for now. I don’t know what Zed’s plan is, but I am not going to let him harm our child.” I whispered out.
“You are strong Emily, please hold on. We are currently tracking you, very soon we will meet again.” Roman murmurs
“Roman.” I whispered, pressing my lips softly to his.
“The ship, last time I overheard Davies talk about how long it would take to reach the human world. You have to find me before then, otherwise it might be too late.”
“Emily…… I can’t hold on anymore.” Chaira whispered out.
“No, I need more time, I can't, no…”
“Look at me," Roman says. “I will find you. I love you Emily.”
“I love y…..”
I scream as sharp pain floods my ribs, making me cough out.
I open my eyes. Davies was standing there staring at me, the bald man that had put me in this condition in front of me.
Before I could do anything, he kicked my ribs hard, dragging my hair.
“I warned you Emily.” Davies says, “you just need to cooperate, then all this pain will stop.”
“Fuck you.” I spat out.
The bald man slammed his hands over my face. “Get up, zed wants you.”
Two guards stepped into the room, each holding my arm as they dragged me out of my cell.
Roman…….
I will wait for you.
Zed will never break me.
