Chapter 158 CHAPTER ONE HUNDRED AND FIFTY EIGHT
EMILY’S POV
The feeling of needles puncturing my flesh, sends a burning inferno through my veins. I scream loudly, thrashing about as my vision darkens for a moment.
Where was I?
How long have i been here?
It felt like years, the same pain, the same silhouette of what looks like a man, shining something bright inside my eyes.
It almost felt like I was in a dream, but the pulsing pain flowing through my veins said otherwise. My vision comes into focus, I groan, blinking slowly at the man standing over me.
“Do you know my name?” He asks, his voice lower than before, his skin more brighter now.
A voice echoes in my head, and i could envision my own mouth saying the words.
“Zed.” I whisper, memories flickering through my brain.
Zed smiles. “Good, at least your memory seems to be coming back, that’s good.” He circles me, probing my teeth, my face, my body.
I swallow the discomfort, trying to focus my mind.
Shit………, I remember now.
Zed had ambushed me in my room, and before I could fight back, the hunters with him had held me back, giving him access to inject whatever it was he did to me.
How long have i been here?
What day or week was it?
Slowly, my eyes took in the room, or should I say lab I was in. About two Scientist were at the far end, whispering and working on something I couldn’t see.
I was strapped down on a long table, different machines around me.
“You really are exquisite Emily.” Zed whispers, leaning towards me. “Think of all the things we could accomplish together.” He exhale slowly, his nails digging into my cheeks as he skirts his lips over my ear.
I tilts my head away, fighting the urge to slam my head against his.
“How long have I been here.” I asked, licking my dry lips.
“You break my heart Emily.” Zed says instead, avoiding my question. “I want to see your wolf, but somehow it has hidden itself from me. I am not a cruel man, just misunderstood. But I hate failure, and right now I somehow feel Iike I am failing. It’s not a good feeling, and it makes me act out.”
“What I am trying to say, is that I want to see your wolf. And before you refuse, believe me when I tell you that I have other methods to bring your wolf out.”
“Fuck you.” I spat out, glaring at him.
Zed chuckles, staring at me for a while, before walking towards a table filled with different injections.
“Just like your mother, I see stubbornness runs in the family.” Zed mutters.
“What have you done to my mother?” I screamed out, thrashing violently against the straps holding me down. “I swear to everything, I will make sure your death is as slow and painful as possible, and by the time I am done with you, death will be all that you pray for.”
Zed burst out laughing, the sound stops my frantic screaming.
“Really, that fire, that zeal. I hope it doesn’t die out. You will be needing it when I am done with you.” He walks closer, the injection filled with mysterious dark liquid in his hands.
“Stop…, don’t come any closer to me.” I cried out.
Zed grabs my thrashing hand, before injecting the liquid into my veins.
At first nothing happens, and I breathe out in relief.
It started slowly, the subtle darkening of my vision, the pain slowly building inside my head.
And as if a dam as been broken open. I scream as pain, thick undiluted hear stopping pain slam into my body, my veins, boiling my blood.
I don’t know how long I screamed, or thrashed around.
But suddenly, i could feel my bone breaking, my spine bending and shifting as it made way for stronger, more defined bones.
The strap holding me down, stretches, before snapping as my hands shifted, sharp claws extending out.
I growled loudly, my vision red, dark anger bursting through my veins.
I nearly laughed. Stupid Zed, he just made me stronger.
Screams filters through my blood thirsty mind, and I relished in it.
I am a true Alpha.
I am strong, I deserve to be feared.
I could feel myself pushed deep into my consciousness, something primal, something dark and viscous taking over.
Hunters run into the room, trying to fight me, but they were like flies to me.
I dug my hands into the chest of the one closest to me, dragging out his heart.
I turn my head as something slams into it, my vision zeroing in on the scientists trying to shoot something at me.
I flung her hard, watching in satisfaction as her body collided with the arrays of machine lined up, before crumbling to the ground.
I turn, searching for the one person I desperately wanted his blood.
The coward was nowhere to be found, instead hunters rushed in, pain filling my back as they shot at me.
This was it, my time to escape.
I ignore the pain, biting, clawing through hunters as I ran through the hallways of the ship.
I didn’t know which direction I was running to, or even if I was on the right track, but I ran straight forward.
Finally, I slam my body through a door, bursting out on the open deck of the ship.
The sun was bright, almost blinding me.
I paused, snarling at the sight in front of me.
Davies was standing there. Zed beside him, along with a lot of hunters, armed to the brink.
“Emily……., I don’t want to kill you. Change back.” Davies says calmly.
I growled loudly, baring my canine at him.
That coward had left me to his father.
I calculated my chances. If I was fast enough, i could take down the hunters to my left, before jumping down into the ocean.
As if sensing my thoughts, the hunters cock their guns in warning.
I healed from silver bullet, but I didn’t know my chances with this many.
Still. I wasn’t cooperating with lunatics, neither was I going to be an experiment.
I will take my chances, or die trying.
But not before killing Zed.
I growl, my red eyes focused on Zed.
I run forward, my claws almost digging into his neck.
I howl as sharp pain slams into me, my claws scratching Zed’s face instead as I fall to the side.
Davies inject something into my neck, standing over me.
I tried to stand, falling back down as whatever had been injected into me took effect immediately.
I lay there, my side burning from the numerous silver bullet shot into me.
I was almost close to escaping, almost.
Next time, nothing was going to stop me.
I blink tiredly, the sky a dark red haze as I slowly lost consciousness.
