Chapter 150 CHAPTER ONE HUNDRED AND FIFTY ONE
EMILY’S POV
Tensions were high, I could see it in the way Antonio brought me more food, trying to fatten me up.
He checked my injuries, more especially my leg and hands he had shot at.
I sat there watching him, bidding my time.
What I had feared was finally happening. It was time to hand me over to Zed.
I watched as Antonio whispered something to Callisto glancing at me, before marching out.
For a while I just sat there, thinking and plotting.
I don’t know if my message even got to Roman, and I couldn’t sit here waiting. I had to do something.
I turned away from the camera, groaning as I changed my teeth to sharp canines. I bit hard into my hands, gritting my teeth against the pain, then I smeared the blood all over my laps.
After that, I screamed out, moaning and thrashing around on my bed.
“What is it?” Callisto's voice called out through the speaker.
“I don’t know,” I cried out, screaming as I thrashed even wider. “Help me….., please.” I cried out.
“Hold on, I am coming,” Callisto says.
Soon enough loud hurried footsteps could be heard, and Callisto was soon barging into the room, stopping at the sight of the blood running down my legs.
“My baby…,” I cried out, “I think something is wrong, please you have to help.”
He rushed towards me. “Shit…,” Callisto murmured, gripping his hair. “I don’t…, Antonio, shit.”
“I don’t know what to do, I am not a medical doctor, fuck..I, shit.” Callisto cried out.
“Uncuff me, I can take a look, I have given birth so I might know what to look for.” I told him.
Callisto paused, squinting his eyes at me.
I screamed loudly, crying now.
He pushed his hands into his pocket, bringing out a small key. “Shit, I don’t know.. I-, I am not supposed to.” he stammered out.
“Do you want my baby to die? Me? We will if I can’t stop the bleeding. What will Antonio do to you if he comes back and finds us dead?”
That was all it took, and soon enough I was free. My legs were bruised and bright red where the cuffs has been for how long
“Come closer.” I told him, opening my legs.
Callisto came closer, bending down to look, frowning in confusion when he saw the blood wasn’t coming from my vaginal.
I slam my legs down on his head, hard. And before he could do anything, I was out the door, locking it behind me.
I bent down, breathing hard at the strength it took me to do all that.
I climbed up the steps, pushing open the door slowly. I peeped through it, sighing in relief when I saw nobody. I didn’t look back, just dash through the room I was once held in, straight to the door Antonio had come in from.
Luckily for me, it was open. I guess they never expected me to try to escape.
I pushed the heavy door open, stumbling outside.
The door closed with a loud bang, and I turned. It looked like a rock, and if not that I just came out from there, I would not have known. It camouflaged very well with all the huge rocks scattered about.
I looked right, then left. I turned left, running through the sandy terrain. I could hear the sound of the ocean, and I ran towards it.
I gasp, quickly hiding behind a rock. Lines and lines of tents had been set up, and I could see men and women moving around, some even dragging men in chains, loading some on the smaller boats parked there.
Shit…, hunters. And if I guessed right, they were heading out to Zed's ship.
I stared at them for a while, squinting at the familiar sight of Killian, being roughly pushed.
My foot moved forward a bit, and then I retreated quickly as someone looked in my direction.
If Killian was here, that means Castor wasn’t far behind.
I crouched down, crawling as I moved away from that direction. After I was far, I stood up, running the opposite direction, far from the tent and hunters.
suddenly, soft voice filters through my brain.
Emily…,, please, can you hear me?”
I paused, sighing out in relief and happiness. Roman.
“Roman…, o my God…. Roman, I managed to escape, I don’t know where I am, Edmund river, East I don’t know if you got my message. Hunters, they are here.”
“I know, I got your message, I am at the Edmund river, where are you?”
“I am at…..”
I turned at the sound of footsteps behind me, but before I could see who it was, my head was slammed hard against the rock, rendering me unconscious.
I groaned, clutching my head as I blinked my eyes open.
I was in a tent, my hands bound behind my back.
Two men were discussing around the table, a girl I couldn't see very well facing away from me.
I tried to move my legs, hissing as sharp pain slams through my head. Shit…
They all turned towards me. The two huge men were unfamiliar, clearly human. But the girl……
Her hair was cut very short, dyed black, but I will never ever forget that face that had once tried to kill me.
“Clara…” I breathed out.
She smiled, walking slowly towards me.
“Emily snow… oh sorry,” she says sarcastically. “Forgive me. Alpha Emily snow red, long time no see.”
“Imagine my surprise, seeing you hiding between rocks like a rat, and you know I said to myself. Clara, this is the moon goddess giving you a chance to finish what you were meant to.” She sighed, staring at me. “Too bad though, Zed has plans for you and that little shit in your tummy.”
“Clara, you don’t have to do this. Work with these lunatics. What do you think will happen to you when Zed finally gets what he wants huh.” I say, trying to reach any part of her still sane.
Clara laughed, dragging the chair close to her, before sitting down on it. She opened up her jacket, showing me different scars all over her body.
“This was when I was first kidnapped, this was when I brought Jameson and Liverie to Zed, this was when I wanted to escape.. I could go on and on, but I am sure you get the picture. I know Zed, I have worked with that lunatic for years, I know his plans. And I don’t care, as long as I get what I want.”
“And what is it you want?” I asked. “Surely you can’t still be demented enough to think you have a chance with Roman? I mean that would be beyond pathetic, even for you.”
Clara roared out, slamming her boots down my face hard.
Immediately the two human hunters who had been watching in amazement all these why, stepped in, dragging her back.
“Bitch…, you thank your stars Zed doesn’t want you hurt, if not I will take great pleasure burning you alive.” Clara roared out as one of the hunters dragged her out of the tent.
Shit, my face was throbbing hard. I shake my head, trying to clear my vision.
The other hunter sat on the chair Sheila had just occupied, staring at me.
“What?” I spat out, glaring at him.
“I have heard about you, it’s all everyone talks about really, Zed's big plans for you and the next generation of humans. Honestly it’s all bullshit to me.” He says.
“If you don’t believe in whatever he is selling, then why are you here, killing us? I mean hell, we didn’t even know you guys even existed. Our children still believe you guys are myth, bedtime stories so they behave. I mean, why, why all this death and destruction. You hunt us, but still want to be like us, I don't get it?” I say softly.
Before he could say anything else, the other guy came in. “Sir Kahlifa, what next? I have words of unknown wolves in the area.”
Khalifa turned, standing up from the chair. His tall broad body casting shadows on the tent.
I won’t lie, he was damn fine. Too bad he was rotten to the core.
“Send men out, do not kill, capture as many as you can, Zed needs them alive.”
The man nodded, leaving the tent.
Khalifa dragged me up, ignoring me as I cursed him out. Immediately we came out of the tent, the sky was covered in red dust.
Khalifa coughed loudly, covering his nose, but whatever it was had already slipped through. His hands fell from mine, at the same time loud howls were heard as screaming rang out everywhere.
I kicked him hard, pushing him with my body as we both fell down to the ground. I head butted him, groaning as pain slams through my head. Quickly I stood up, staggering a bit. I looked to my right, seeing wolf tearing into the hunters somehow weakened.
Whatever that red stuff was, it seems to be affecting only the hunters.
And I knew of only one person capable of creating something like that.
Rachel…
If she was here, that means Roman was somewhere around.
I dashed through the different wolves and hunters fighting each other, my eyes searching for Roman.
Someone barged hard into me, the both of us stumbling to the ground.
“Hello bitch.” Clara growled out.
