Chapter 132
Chapter 132
Sofia Bliss
The day of the dinner had finally arrived.
The hours flew by… truly… and I was anxious for this moment—
Actually, it was much more than that.
And when night came, it didn’t arrive soft or calm.
She came, very silent... felt my chest tighten... hurt... was feeling a mix of feelings inside me was driving me crazy.
I felt it all at once, and it nearly made me lose my balance as I stared at myself in the mirror.
Tonight could be the most important night of my life.
Or the worst.
But... I wouldn’t let it destroy me. Not today.
I had already spent too much time being swallowed by fear.
On the vanity, the paper lay open—
The address was exposed.
The place where Letícia was.
I looked at the clock on the wall.
It was almost time.
I took a deep breath and returned my attention to the mirror.
The dress Adrian had given me shaped my body in a way I barely remembered.
It was beautiful, elegant, and chosen by him.
Somehow, it amplified my presence—
I made it clear to others that I was there, and I wasn’t just anyone.
I took another breath, fixed my hair, brushed it, and styled it.
I finished my makeup with slightly unsteady hands.
Adrian hadn’t appeared in hours.
But I knew exactly what he was doing: preparing, creating emergency plans, and calling allies.
He wanted us one step ahead—
That's what he’d told me.
Because in that world, one mistake meant death.
I looked toward the window; the night was dark outside, almost starless, the moon high…
Tonight would be intense, and I was ready for whatever came.
I exhaled and left the room.
In the living room, I found my father sitting on the couch, one hand resting on his knee, his posture still stiff from his injuries.
For a second, the scene looked… normal.
Something familiar.
So little time had passed since everything began, and yet it felt like years.
So many secrets ripped open, so many scares, so much fear.
“You look beautiful,” he said the moment he saw me coming down the stairs.
And his voice… that look…
I finally saw peace in him.
Something I hadn’t seen in so long, it felt like a hallucination.
“Thank you,” I replied, smiling, even though it was a nervous smile.
I walked to him and sat beside him.
For a few seconds, we stayed silent until he breathed in deeply, like he was preparing for something difficult.
“You… know everything now, don’t you?” he asked.
“About the Hines. About why your mother ran. About their plan.”
I nodded.
“Adrian told me.”
He looked away briefly.
My father was never dramatic, never explosive—
But I could tell when something revolted him deeply.
“They wanted to use your mother,” he continued.
“They wanted her to take part in that sick tradition… to have a child with someone of the same bloodline…”
Just remembering it twisted my stomach.
“With her own brother,” he finished, his voice cracking.
"That’s why you need to stay away from them, do you understand?"
He bit his lips lightly.
I felt a knot in my chest... so suffocating.
"Now she’s gone," he said softly.
"And all I have left is you." your eyes were worried. Distressed.
He turned to me, his eyes attentive, with so much tenderness that it almost broke me completely.
"I would never forgive myself if something happened to you, Sofia. Never."
I held her hand affectionately.
"It won’t happen," I said, with a soft smile, that calmed him down.
"I won’t allow it." he affirmed, smoothing his fingers in my hand.
"I will make them return Leticia," I continued, confident of my words.
"And then I’ll finish them all... one by one, anyone who gets in my way or tries to hurt the people I love." I wanted my father to believe in my words.
My father looked at me as if he was seeing another version of me.
Maybe he was.
The door opened behind us.
Adrian walked in, fully ready.
Dark suit, posture sharp, that presence that always made the room feel smaller.
When our eyes met, something shifted in his expression—
a slow, genuine smile appeared.
“You look beautiful,” he said, walking toward me.
I felt the warmth of his hand on my waist when I stood up.
It gave me a strange sense of safety—
Like nothing could touch me for a moment.
“It’s almost time,” I said.
“Everything’s ready,” he replied.
“My cousin confirmed. Men are in position. Armed. Cael and Cedric too. And…”
He paused, “I called a few of my contacts.”
“Your friends?” I asked.
“Not exactly,” he admitted.
“But they’re opportunistic enough to want a seat at the table if something big goes down.”
I gave a humorless smile.
“So that’s it.”
Yes—
It was time.
I turned to my father.
He stood up with difficulty and pulled me into a hug, using whatever strength he had left—
and I didn’t complain.
I leaned my head on his shoulder, breathing deeply, trying to memorize that moment.
“Come back soon,” he whispered.
“I will,” I answered, holding back tears.
“And I’m coming back with Letícia.”
He nodded, kissing my forehead.
I walked to the door, but before leaving, I turned one last time.
Our eyes met.
There was nothing left to say.
I closed the door behind me.
And the moment the night swallowed me outside, I knew with absolute certainty:
Either I came back with Letícia…
Or everyone in that house would die.
