Chapter 15 The Ghost of Keith

Chapter 15 The Ghost of Keith
Elizabeth was exhausted from putting the party together. then staying up until the early morning hours when it ended. She put her head down in the back seat of the cab and rubbed her eyes. when she opened her eyes she gasped. She could not explain it but she saw Keith sitting in the car next to her.

She sat there staring at him in disbelief, finding it difficult to breathe. She whispered to herself ‘what the hell’. Keith caressed her face with his hand; Elizabeth moved away from his touch, and said to him “You’re dead.”

“Yes I am. Thanks to you.” Keith responded.

Elizabeth was confused “Then how are you here?”

Keith smiled “I’m not.”

Elizabeth shook her head and said to herself ‘No, no, no, no, this can’t be happening.’

“You seem confused.” Keith said.

“I am I am talking to a dead man.” answered Elizabeth.

“Well not really you are talking to yourself. I am just what your mind conjured up.” Keith explained.

“I have gone crazy.” Elizabeth blurted out.

“No you have not gone crazy; you went crazy when you killed me.” Keith told her.

Elizabeth took a deep breath in, she looked at the driver he was distracted listening to the radio, and she was relieved.

She took another deep breath in then asked “OK I’ll play along, why I created you?”

Keith smiled “Because you want to kill again, but you need to justify your actions again.”

“What?” Elizabeth questioned him.

Keith answered “Liev. You want to kill him and you need to feel like it is OK to do so.”

“It’s not OK, it was never OK.” Elizabeth replied.

Keith stared her deeply in the eyes, it made Elizabeth’s heart hurt as he said “You were in love with me, and you did not hesitate to kill me. You killed your own father, so kill Liev.”

“No.” Elizabeth responded.

“Kill Liev.” Keith reiterated.

“No.” Elizabeth answered as she started shaking and crying.

“Kill Liev!” Keith demanded.

“Shut Up!” Elizabeth screamed back at him.

The driver turned around surprised frightened. Elizabeth looked at him and giggled.

“Sorry I don’t like these radio personalities.” she lied.

The driver turned back around to face the road. Elizabeth turned to look beside her she wanted to see if Keith was still there, he was. She put her head in her hands and muttered to herself ‘just go away, just go away, just go away.’

Keith leaned over to her, and whispered in her ear “I will go away when you do what you know you have to.”

Elizabeth said “I don’t want to.”

“Yes you do. Why else would I be here?” Keith asked.

Elizabeth pondered what Keith was saying, She reluctantly pulled out the number Liev had given her.

Keith smiled and said “Good girl.”

“I’m pretty sure I am not.” Elizabeth retorted as she was dialling Liev’s number.

Liev answered the phone groggily “Hello.”

“Hi.” Elizabeth said with her voice trembling.

“Hi. Who is this?” Liev asked.

Elizabeth answered “It’s Elizabeth from the party; you gave me your number in case I changed my mind.”

“Oh yea. Hey.” responded Liev.

“Hey. So, I think I changed my mind if you want to get together.” Elizabeth explained.

“Oh yea.” Liev responded smugly. “OK.”

Elizabeth cringed at his eagerness to cheat on his wife with her; she hid her disgust when she offered “There is a hotel close to the club we can meet up there.”

“Sounds great be there in an hour. I’ll meet you in the lobby.” Liev answered.

“OK see you then.” Elizabeth responded.

Elizabeth hung up the phone she still saw Keith there. “I thought you said you’d go away.”

“I guess I was wrong.” Keith responded. “Tell the driver to go to the hotel instead.”

“Oh yea.” Elizabeth responded.

She then told the driver that she had decided to go to a hotel and instructed him to go there instead. The driver turned the car around and drove her to the hotel.

In the hotel lobby Keith was still with Elizabeth and Liev had still not shown up. Elizabeth had put on a sweater she had brought with her; she pulled the hoodie up and kept her face down.

Elizabeth was pacing back and forth, when Keith asked her “How do you feel?”

“What?” Elizabeth asked in response.

“How do you feel now? You know about all this?” asked Keith.

“Oh.” Elizabeth thought about it, upon her realization of how she felt about it she said “Good.”

Keith smiled pleased. Finally Liev had shown up, he smiled at her went to the receptionist desk and booked a room for them. He started to walk toward the elevator leaving her a little behind.

Elizabeth took the hint and followed behind him so that it did not look like they were together. They got on the same elevator but kept their distance, he pushed the fourteenth floor button. Elizabeth pretended to lean over to push a button for herself, and acted as though Liev accidentally pushed the same button that she just happened to be pushing.

Liev got off the elevator first and turned left, Elizabeth again followed closely behind until the elevator doors closed and there was no cameras to capture them together. Elizabeth sped her walk up and caught up to Liev.

Liev turned to her and smiled, he then took her hand and they walked down the hall hand in hand until they got to the room. Liev opened the door, and then they went in. The second the door was shut Liev pushed Elizabeth against the wall, he pulled the hoodie down off her head then started kissing her.

Elizabeth tried hard to hide the fact that she was disgusted by him and kissed him back. Liev lifted her up and she wrapped her legs around his waist. Liev was holding Elizabeth tightly, that is when Elizabeth felt his erection. She could not take it anymore, she was completely disgusted. She pulled her mini machete out of her pocket, opened it, and as Liev was kissing her she stabbed him in the head.

He immediately started bleeding, then he dropped Elizabeth from his hold, then he fell down himself dead. Elizabeth put the machete in her pocket. She put her hoodie back on; she took a look around to see if there was any hair or skin on the ground that belonged to her.

Then she took the hotel nailbrush to Liev’s fingernails, as he had dug his nails into her neck, and she wanted to make sure there was no evidence of her anywhere on him. She then washed his face in case any of her saliva got on him, and checked his clothes for her hair. She found a few hairs she picked them off of him, she then took the hairs, and the nail brush and put them in a Ziploc bag.

She went to the hotel sink and washed off the blood from her machete. Once it was clean she returned it to her pocket. She then rinsed out the sink. Finally Elizabeth walked around Liev careful not to step in his blood to keep her shoes clean. She fortunately did not get any blood on them when she had stabbed him and he fell at her feet.

Elizabeth walked down the hallway to the staircase where she knew there were no cameras. she did not want there to be any evidence that she had left. Going down the stairs Keith was following behind her. With every floor Elizabeth went down Keith faded away. By the time she got down to the lobby he had completely vanished.

She tied her hoodie up and held her head down to exit the hotel. Finally Elizabeth went home; she slept soundly that night feeling like she was living true to herself.

The next day Elizabeth went to work like normal, except she now knew that she would be designing for Melnic. Elizabeth had decided to close her store. She told Carmela her plans and they started to put up store closing signs, and decided to have a huge store closing sale.

Carmela contacted everyone that had attended their party to let them know what was happening, so that they could use their gift cards before they closed. Elizabeth was amazed because before the week was up they had sold their entire inventory. So she and Carmela closed the store a couple days earlier than they had originally planned.

Elizabeth was bored Wednesday night, and a little nervous about her meeting with the owner of Melnic, Fiona, as it was quickly approaching. She was also worrying that she may have acted prematurely in closing her store just in case it did not work out with Melnic.

Elizabeth decided to take her mind off of her worries by going out. She went to a bar that she had heard of from a customer who frequented her boutique. It was about twenty minutes away from her place. Elizabeth was not there for fun though; she was on a mission now to rid the world of liars, and cheaters.

Elizabeth sat at the bar and ordered a drink; she turned around and started scanning everyone there. She saw a couple at the table in the corner, and when the woman was not looking the man who she was with her smiled at Elizabeth. Elizabeth smiled back, then turned around and did not look his way again.

Elizabeth stayed at the bar waiting knowingly. A few hours after Elizabeth had arrived at the bar, the man who was with the woman was now alone. As Elizabeth expected he went over to her, and started flirting with her.

Elizabeth flirted back and led him to believe that she would be having sex with him that night. They left the bar, and walked up the street. Elizabeth guided the man through an alley where she knew that no one would be. They got to a darkened spot where Elizabeth stopped and turned into him. He grabbed her and pulled her closely into him. He started kissing her neck, and Elizabeth looked over her shoulder as he did so. She saw Keith standing there staring at her expectantly. Elizabeth smiled at him, pulled out her pink machete and stabbed the man in the back.

The man pulled away in shock, and backed away from her. Elizabeth went forward to keep up with him. She took her machete and stabbed him in the chest repeatedly in the chest.

Elizabeth stopped stabbing him when she knew for sure that he was dead she put her knife away. She then walked down the alley and kept walking until she reached home. When she was at home she was delirious as she felt she was doing the world a great service.

Elizabeth was exhausted from putting the party together. then staying up until the early morning hours when it ended.
