22. Jack, Jack.
Gemma's POV
Quivering in the corner my hand still pressed to the gushing wound I couldn't help but feel all the more frightened, not just for my own life but for theirs as well. I felt like I was in one of those horror story's I'd always thought about, the films I didn't dare to watch, those nightmares I didn't want to remember. It was all a big flash in front of my eyes and here I am quivering in a corner with my friends blood on my hands.
Looking up I watched the large body begin to wobble watching him crash to the floor as I gave a loud scream and clutched onto Ada's hand with instinct. "Jack?" Cooper coughed up as I looked to see jack with a frying pan in his hands. He'd saved us all.
"We all need to get Cooper out to the ambulance and figure out your alibi, unless you want the people to know your dating a student." His calm collected voice made me smile as I watched him hold into coopers hand and touch the side of her cheek, it was clear the blonde boy was in love with the woman before him.
Gently I took Cooper under the arms and Ada grabbed her legs as jack pressed down on the wound and we gently paced down the stairs until the strong ambulance men came and lifted her out onto one of those beds with straps.
Just a blur of sound, I felt as if my heart had exploded when the people in their bright yellow jackets we're standing giving each other worried looks. Ada and Jack continued with Cooper to the ambulance as I heard one of them say "only one person allowed in with her." I stood on the grass looking at the blue lights swirling round.
"Jack, jack..." She kept muttering. As Ada took a step back an gestured to the hero "go on she's calling for you. Well follow you in the car." Jack jumped in the ambulance as Ada came back towards me and crashed into my arms, it seemed strange to hug out in the pine but at least we had reason. Scared and so lost we both broke out into a sea of tears as I locked my front door and snatched my car keys. I still had slippers on but I wasn't about to change. Sitting in the car we tried to compose ourselves but nothing seemed to be working.
