20. Forgetful
Gemma's POV
A little bit nervous I bit my pen as he walked into the room. Taking the teacher roll I removed the pen from my mouth and faced the strange man before me. "Are you okay with Jack?" I let it come out of my mouth plain and simple. The six foot tall bloke moved towards me and put his gum in the bin with a smile "Why? Are you?" He questioned raising an eyebrow straight for me. The direct gaze made me want to look away but I couldn't. "Of course I am... I have to be I'm his teacher."
Bene grabbed my arm and looked me straight in the eyes with worry and fear. "Ouch." I let out a little whimper as his grip grew tighter around my bicep. "Gemma he nearly destroyed you, he could have split you and Ada up. Imagine that." He let go of my arm as my eyes widened and my face went a little whiter. "What kind of a world would that be?" I opened my mouth but before I could speak my mind stopped me to think about a world without my baby, the love of my life.
Bene looked away and placed his hands in his back pockets, I flinched a little but he didn't notice. "He has homophobic parents he probably doesn't know any better." Gritting his teeth he looked as though he could hit something. "He needs teaching. I'll be the teacher." I flinched again as he took a deep breath in and made a swift exit for my classroom door. Slowly and gently I regained my breathing pattern back to normal.
Running round school, end of the day, frantically I snatched Ada into a corner outside away from the cameras and people. I couldn't help myself I pulled her into a deep passionate kiss. Still shaking I pulled away quickly in realising how open and foolish that was trying more and more to just surround myself in her beautiful green eyes. "What's wrong babe?" She soothed my worries with one touch brushing my hair back behind my ear as I fell back against the wall and sat on the floor just trying not to cry.
"Gembell, baby bell?" She squatted down beside me both her beautiful little hands on my knees as she smiled. "I love you. Nothing can hurt you, I'm protecting you." She gently touched the side of my face and forced me to look into her eyes as my lip quivered. "I'm just scared Bene is going to do something scary." I slowly got up to my feet trying to brush the little bits of stone off my bum. "I'll be over as soon as I can." Quickly we stepped apart from each other and looked away from each other.
"Guys have you seen Bene?" Cooper had turned sun dried tomato red with her long brown hair tied back but still a smile. "Oh my god, Gem are you alright?" Gently I shook my head as Cooper hugged me trying to make it better... But she smelt of him. "What do you need?" She questioned, I didn't want to tell her that it was her crazy eye boyfriend. "Could you go home with Gem and keep her company till I can get there?" Cooper nodded gently like a good friend and hugged Ada letting her get off to speak to Daphne about personal things. As Cooper walked to my house and I drove.
23:36pm and I went out to get Cooper and me some munch because Ada couldn't get to mine for another hour or so. Getting up to the door I went to grab my key to notice the door already open. Jesus I'm getting way too forgetful. I opened the door and closed it behind me trying to fit my key in the lock. It doesn't fit, I bent down to notice it'd been picked. "Cooper?" I whispered feeling like a horror film had just begun. "Cooper!" I pulled up the guts to tell and heard a bang from upstairs.
Dropping the food I picked up my feet jumping two steps at a time and walking into the room that had the door wide open. My eyes wanted to shut tight and look away but all I could see was Cooper in a corner bleeding from her stomach, a big gaping wound. "What?" I questioned as her crying body pointed. I jumped around to see him standing with a knife covered with red blood, dripping onto the carpet. I rushed to coopers side trying to put pressure on the wound but still fixated on looking at his crazy eyes.
