8. Suspect

Gemma's POV

Walking into school I don't think I've ever been so happy. Monday morning. Spent the entire weekend with Ada, well because of that sleep in I guess it was kind of an extended weekend. But who's complaining. Definitely not me. Walking in early I placed my second coffee on the table in it's flask. You could say I'm a bit addicted to it because of the caffeine. Looking through the notes on my desk I got to a scrap at the bottom. Reading it, my heart sunk. 'I know your dirty little secret'

Firstly it's not dirty, it's love. Secondly little secret, it's not little I'm facing prison, job loss and loosing the love of my life. Thirdly who the hell put this here. It better be Cooper because if it's not them I'm in big trouble. Screwing it up I threw it in the bin. Crap. What if someone searches my bin then there'll be a big investigation. Although I could say something else like I dropped a sandwich on the floor and then ate it because I thought no one was watching. True story. The pavement wasn't dirty or anything. Fuck. I knew this shit day would come. I just didn't think it would be today.

Right that's it were leaving the country, me and Ada are going to live on some far away Island with bear grills. Well obviously not the real one, a tribute act. I'm not bad at fishing and Ada is hilarious with a bow and arrow. Crap, where would I get hot water from to make my coffee... What if the coffee ran out? Oh no, what even is life?

Walking in, great. I'd forgotten they we're my first class of the day. Hearing a loud laugh from behind me, there was my baby. This time I decided to give her the attention with a look that made her stop. She needs to know. Getting up I walked over to the board with my pen. "Okay class, Sin Cos and Tan." I looked at the writing, it looked like it had been written by a four year old. I was shaking as if I'd just met a mass murderer and he'd told me not to say anything.

Turning around I gave a quick fake smile and I hoped Ada would get the message. "Are you alright miss Lander?" That annoying voice chirped from the front. Anastasia. Brilliant.

If I couldn't have felt any worse. "Of course I am just a little tired that's all." I smiled once again without teeth wanting Ada to get the message. Coughing I hope she's clicked. "Too tire from all that sex you've been getting?" She bit down on her pen like a stood and I placed my angry face on. Thank god she got my message. "Out side Westwood that's inappropriate." She slouched out of the classroom with a strop on. "One moment whilst I deal with a rude child." I stormed out after her.

Walking out she made her way into the gap between the lockers. We'd only ever done this three or four times in the whole year and a half we've been together. "What is it babe?" Her hands brushed mine as we moved out of sight from everyone. "Someone left a note this morning saying they know about us." I wanted to break down into tears but it seemed ridiculous that I would in school.

Feeling two arms wrap around my body I couldn't believe how homely this felt. How safe I felt. How much i wanted to run away into the sunset and never look back. Screw coffee we're leaving. "I've had them for weeks. It's not Cooper, this is real." Hitting her arm I was so pissed off! How could she have gone weeks without telling me. "Because I knew you'd freak out." I huffed and turned around to lean on the lockers. "Now your a mind reader, great. You're going to have to tell me what's on yours because I don't know anymore." She pushed my hands away from my face to look at me.

I wish I could read what she was thinking as those green eyes turned away from mine. "Yeah I know I was thinking the same thing, I'll book the flights now, go home and pack tonight." She laughed and shook her head placing a light tender kiss on my lips, surrounded by yellow lockers, we are fine here. "That's not what I was thinking but you're cute for saying that." I don't want to be cute I want us to be safe. She can't see that our relationship is facing sheer crisis! "I love you." Her little lips muttered as I ran my fingers through my hair

Her eyes beamed up to me, gosh I love those eyes. "We need to find the culprit." Her eyes turned into that of a detective, great it's going to be a game of where's Wally in a bunch of people dressed the same. "It's someone in our class, there are 24 students in total. It's not me or Cooper so that makes 22 suspects." Great I hope she realises that 22 is a big number of suspects. I mean I'm no Sherlock Holmes but I think there's usually only two or three.
