Chapter 314 Sooner or Later, Everyone Dies

Rebecca opened her eyes, feeling like her back was about to break.

She felt incredibly grateful that Valentine's Day only came once a year, but then again, thinking about Frederick's behavior, wasn't he just looking for an excuse?

Before, when she wasn't around on Valentine's Day, she never saw him suffering like he claimed, instead, he would explode from frustration!

When she turned around, she found the space beside her empty.

On her phone was a message he'd sent two hours ago: [Becca, I'm at the office.]

She fell silent.

While soaking in the bath with a face mask on, she thought about how she used to spend Valentine's Day evenings with Izzy, and wondered how she had spent last night.

Rebecca sent her a video call.

"Getting up this late, looks like last night was pretty intense."

As soon as the video connected, Isabella started teasing her.

Thankfully, the face mask hid Rebecca's flushed face.

Rebecca deflected the question, "What about you? How did you spend yesterday?"

"I went to check out the new racing track in the morning. Wow... Becca, I'm telling you, Mr. Windsor really went all out. The new track is absolutely amazing! Becca, considering how generous Mr. Windsor has been to me, you'd better step up too and make sure to thank him properly!"

In the past, she only talked big about handsome male leads in comics and TV dramas, but when it came to Frederick, Rebecca couldn't say a word.

On the other end, Isabella seemed oblivious to Rebecca's embarrassment and changed the subject to talk about that bizarre blind date.

"Yesterday's blind date looked like a toad! Looking like that, he should just stay home instead of coming out to disgust people. I really can't believe it."

She described the guy's sleazy appearance.

Then repeated his marriage requirements that would get roasted by thousands online.

Isabella still looked frustrated thinking about it, "I threw a cup of coffee at him right then and there, so the blind date my mom thought was a sure thing... fell through!"

Rebecca looked at Isabella with heartfelt sympathy, "Wait for me."

She removed the face mask.

She got out of the bath.

Rebecca dried her hair, changed clothes, and rushed out of Pinewood Mansion.

More than ten minutes later, the two sat shoulder to shoulder on the carpet in front of the sofa.

When she heard that Benjamin had gone to the track and they'd even raced on the mountain road.

Looking at Isabella, who now seemed completely unfazed, Rebecca blinked, "So, you're okay now?"

"I guess I'm okay!"

Isabella smiled, thinking about last night, and sighed softly, "You know what? At that moment, my wheels were already on the edge of the road. If I had turned the steering wheel slightly, just slightly, all my troubles would've been gone... But then, thinking about my twenty-million-plus Ferrari and you, I couldn't bear to do it!"

Rebecca pouted, "So I come after the car?"

"That car was a gift from you. What, are you jealous of a car?"

"Yeah, I'm a living person, and I can't compete with a broken car. Isabella, wouldn't you be mad if it were you?"

"Of course I wouldn't be mad! It's not living, you're alive!"

"Well, I'm still mad!... No, Isabella, in your heart, I can only compete with a race car?"

After joking around and bickering for a while, Isabella felt that even the last bit of gloom in her heart was gone.

No more drinking.

No more venting.

Isabella put down the can and turned to hug Rebecca, "Becca, thank you!"

Rebecca hugged her back, gently patting her back, "Why are you so silly? Next time your mom threatens you, just say that Frederick and I said we'd introduce someone to you. Pass the ball to Frederick and me."

"Too late."

Rebecca froze.

Isabella smiled, "I called her last night and told her she didn't need to threaten me with suicide anymore. I'd livestream my own suicide for her to watch!"

Isabella leaned back against the sofa, "Life is short, we'll all die eventually. Being able to live as clearly and freely as I did last night, every extra day is a bonus! As for the rest, whatever!"

After saying that, as if not wanting to talk about yesterday anymore, Isabella turned and winked at Rebecca, "Want to go see my new racing track?"

"Isn't that a bad idea?"

Glancing at the two empty cans on the carpet, Rebecca was tempted but hesitant, "Don't drink and drive, didn't you say that?"

"I'm asking you to look at my new track. What are you thinking?"

Isabella looked amused.

Rebecca fell silent.

Half an hour later, the two stood in the viewing area of the track.

The racers' excitement was reflected in the roaring engines.

Black, red, white, blue—colorful race cars speeding across the spacious track made their blood boil, filling them with indescribable excitement.

Thinking back to how she'd gotten stuck in a dead end last night, even Isabella found it a bit funny.

Troubles are temporary.

Whether you get through them or push through them, once they're over, she's still herself.

"In a few days, I'm taking the racing team to compete."

Her eyes lit up when she mentioned the competition, making her look radiant.

Isabella turned to look at Rebecca, "You and Frederick, take good care..."

She wanted to say to call her if anything came up.

But the words caught in her throat as she realized Frederick was far more capable than she was.

Isabella smiled, "I'm sure everything will be fine. So, I wish you happiness that grows day by day, and success in your studies, love life, and career!"

Rebecca smiled, "Then I wish your racing team great success, tons of money, and that you become a rich woman soon! And you find a man who only has eyes for you!"

"I'll take the success wishes. Forget the man! I'm locking up my heart to focus on my career!"

Isabella smiled brightly.

Out of the corner of her eye, she noticed someone hesitating and hovering around for quite a while.

Isabella turned around and saw a young guy from the racing team. "What's up?"

The guy pointed outside, "There's a delivery for you. Can you go sign for it?"

Isabella sighed, "In the time it took you to come tell me, you could've just signed for it and brought it over, right? Was it really necessary for you to make a special trip?"

Really had nothing better to do!

Shaking her head with a smile, Isabella turned and walked out.

When she saw the delivery outside, she blinked and froze.
