Chapter 306 Where Are You, Where Is Home

Rebecca had lunch at the Windsor Mansion and chatted with Elizabeth for a while.

The sun had just started moving west when Elizabeth shooed her away. "Go on home now. Your mom's waiting for you at home. Go keep her company."

"Grandma..."

"Go on, go on!"

Elizabeth smiled warmly.

"Grandma, you're so wonderful!"

Rebecca threw herself into Elizabeth's arms and acted all sweet. "I'll come have dinner with you again in a few days!"

Elizabeth's face wrinkled up with her smile.

Who doesn't love a sweet, soft girl like that?

It had been years since there'd been such an endearing young lady around.

Once again, she felt that spotting Becca at that blind date banquet was one of the smartest and most satisfying decisions she'd ever made.

Elizabeth looked over at Frederick, who was sipping his coffee with a slight smile, and breathed a sigh of relief. "Drive carefully on the way back with Becca. Take it slow."

Looking at Rebecca nestled in Grandma's arms.

Frederick fell silent.

As the Maybach drove out of the alley, Rebecca called the driver, then dialed Lucy's number, inviting them over for dinner.

After Frederick left following a brief visit, Rebecca stood outside the villa for a while and spotted the Getty family's Mercedes.

"Becca, you're so thoughtful! You even arranged for a driver to pick us up."

Lucy jumped out of the car and gave Rebecca a big hug, laughing. "You're so considerate. I'm going to feel too embarrassed to come next time."

"Well, it's your first time, so you need to know where it is. Next time, just take a cab yourself!"

Rebecca smiled and looked at Ryan, who was following behind.

Ryan wore a sharp suit. He'd lost some of his boyish air and gained some of young Frederick's handsome bearing.

He was also carrying a gift.

Facing Rebecca, Ryan still had the same bright smile as he did back at Star Apartments. "Rebecca, long time no see!"

From his gaze to his demeanor to the feeling he gave her, he was still the same Ryan as before.

The photo from the bar flashed through her mind, and Rebecca smiled in greeting. "Long time no see! Come on in!"

Before getting in the car, Lucy's palms had been sweaty with nerves, but almost as soon as she stepped through the door, all her anxiety vanished.

Alexa and Layla smiled warmly. "Welcome, welcome!"

Before seven o'clock, the whole group was gathered cheerfully in the living room.

When the doorbell rang, everyone who'd been drinking froze.

Alexa was the first to react. "Becca, go get the door."

Outside the front door, Frederick stood tall with a smile on his face.

"What are you doing here?"

Taking his arm as they walked into the courtyard, Rebecca's eyes sparkled.

"Where you are, that's home!" Leaning close to Rebecca, Frederick's breath carried the faint scent of red wine.

Her head felt fuzzy, she didn't know if it was from drinking too much or because Frederick's words were too sweet and she was being charmed again.

Rebecca blinked, staring at Frederick in a daze, feeling he looked especially handsome today.

The liveliness continued for several days.

"Mom, Alice and I are heading out. Take care of yourselves!"

Right after lunch, James arrived. As he wheeled the suitcase toward the door, he turned back to Layla and Alice, who were having trouble saying goodbye.

Not only were Layla and Alice stunned.

Alexa and Rebecca, on the side, also froze for a moment.

Alice blushed and scolded James for being shameless.

Layla, Alexa, and Rebecca's eyes crinkled with laughter.

The originally sad atmosphere was instantly dispelled.

Facing Alice's playful scolding, James looked completely justified. "I'll have to call you that sooner or later anyway. I'll start early so Mom can get used to it."

Then James looked at Layla. "Mom, I promise I'll take good care of Alice. Don't worry!"

Layla smiled until her eyes reddened.

She looked at Alice, whose face and ears were red, pinching James through his jacket.

Then she turned to look at Rebecca, who was on the phone with Frederick, promising over and over that she'd come home right after dinner.

Layla and Alexa exchanged glances, both looking gratified.

When her phone rang, Rebecca answered the call. On the other end was Esme's voice, nearly exploding with anger. "Rebecca, there's trouble at the studio!"
