Chapter 221 Lines of the Abandoned One

Chapter 221 Lines of the Abandoned One

When I woke up, Michelle had already been captured.

Just as I suspected, Michelle had no idea about the side effects of that beauty cream. Diana's aggressive store-smashing made her furious, but she didn't dare show herself .

Come to think of it, the two of them used to be really close!

Michelle was tied up with her hands behind her back, covered in wounds, kneeling in front of me in a miserable state.

Her mouth was taped shut. I couldn't make out what she was saying, but it definitely wasn't anything nice.

"Don't get excited. I'm not going to kill you just yet." I glanced at Michelle casually and turned to ask Adrian, "Where did you find her?"

"In the basement of Elysian Glow beauty salon." Adrian said with a smile, "She was being hunted and didn't dare go out. She could only treat her injuries herself and didn't even dare go to the hospital. When Cole and I found her, her hair was a mess and she was lying on an air mattress. That basement wasn't even half the size of a hotel bathroom. There was a rotten smell everywhere, and the toilet was only 3 feet from her bed!"

Michelle glared at Adrian viciously, her eyes bloodshot.

Adrian seemed oblivious to Michelle's anger and continued excitedly, "So what if she opened a beauty salon? All the money she made was dirty money. She lived like a rat in a gutter. A few months ago she was enjoying a wealthy life at the Gambino family estate. When I saw her last night, I almost didn't recognize her!"

Michelle's chest heaved violently. She was so angry she almost passed out.

I patted Adrian on the shoulder. "Good job. I'll give you guys a bonus."

Then I walked over, roughly tore the tape off Michelle's mouth, and asked in a low voice, "Do you regret it?"

Michelle grinned, blood foam filling the gaps between her teeth. "Of course I regret it. I should have killed all four of you siblings earlier! Before you had a chance for revenge!"

I slapped her across the face, trembling with anger. "My mother and my grandfather never wronged you!"

"You had terrible luck—your parents died, then your grandfather died—but what does that have to do with my family? You killed my entire family and so many innocent people. Why does someone as evil as you exist in this world!"

"I had bad luck, but didn't your mother have bad luck too?" Michelle roared with a twisted expression. "She always acted so innocent, as if fate always favored her. She had so much. It was just a book—why wouldn't she give it back to me!"

"If she had returned the book to me early on, how would those big shots have coveted it? Before the incident, I warned your father, but he wouldn't believe me! They deserved it! Your whole family deserved it!"

I angrily stepped on the wound on Michelle's thigh.

Blood gushed out, staining the bottom of my shoe. Michelle screamed in pain.

"Your bad luck has only just begun, Michelle. Enjoy it."

-

After breakfast, I went to work as usual. When I got to the hotel, I suddenly remembered, "Adrian, where's Amelia?"

Adrian slapped his forehead. "I almost forgot about her. She's the biological daughter of the Gambino family's previous Don, after all. She's been busy fighting with Colin and others over the family fortune."

"Did she win?" I asked with interest.

Adrian shook his head. "One against many—how could she win?"

"True." I nodded.

"Is that him ?" Adrian suddenly pointed out the window and glanced at me carefully. "Mr. Valeri."

I saw Lucas standing by the executive elevator. Rolf, the head of security, was guarding the elevator entrance, standing to the side looking anxious and helpless as he watched me.

Adrian asked me what to do. I closed my eyes with a headache.

Actually, I wasn't as angry as I had been a few days ago, but I still didn't know how to face Lucas.

"Back up."

Adrian seemed confused. "What?"

I snapped, a bit embarrassed, "I said, back up!"

"Yes!"

The car slowly reversed. Lucas frowned and strode toward me.

Just then my phone rang. The caller ID showed "Roger."

"Get to the rehabilitation center right now!" Roger's bad temper was acting up again. He was cursing first thing in the morning. "There's an ugly person who insists on seeing you!"

"What?" I glanced at Lucas slowly approaching and thought, whoever it is, I'll go see them!

The car quickly turned around, made a loop, and stopped outside the rehabilitation center gate.

Before I got out of the car, I heard Diana's crazy voice.

"Let Isabella come out! She's the Miracle Surgeon—she can definitely cure my face!"

I took a light breath. This crazy woman came to my place to cause trouble today?

I walked over quickly and looked around. Fortunately, Diana hadn't gone so crazy as to smash up my hospital.

"Isabella!" Diana screamed and rushed at me.

I nimbly stepped back. Adrian and Cole blocked her, but Diana grabbed Adrian's gun hand and pressed it against her own head. "Shoot me! If my face can never be fixed, I might as well die!"

"Then go ahead and die." I rolled my eyes and said bluntly.

"Aren't you the Miracle Surgeon?" Diana pointed at me, breaking down. "Can't even you cure my face?"

"Just because I can cure you means I have to treat you?" I asked in surprise.

"Don't you have any professional ethics as a doctor?" Diana stared at me in disbelief.

"No." I answered simply. "Just finding that out? I only save people based on my mood."

"You're too arrogant! Have you forgotten whose woman I am?"

I frowned, thinking that involving Stephen would indeed be troublesome. I might as well call Stephen to have him take Diana away. Just then, someone in the crowd laughed. "Stop bringing up Stephen. He's already dumped you."

I raised an eyebrow. Diana's reaction was like someone had hit a nerve. "Shut up! I'm Stephen's most beloved woman. He would never abandon me!"

"He would never abandon me," I mimicked Diana's tone. "That's the classic line of a woman who's been dumped."

I heard footsteps behind me. My ears twitched, and I turned to see Lucas.

Lucas's eyes were deep. Alfred beside him muttered with a worried expression, "We're done for. Mr. Valeri also said Mrs. Valeri would never abandon him."

I pretended not to see Lucas and had Cole knock Diana out while she wasn't paying attention, then throw her out on the street.

Just then, Ember appeared wearing a mask and sunglasses, asking anxiously, "Isabella, is there really no way you can treat Diana's face?"

From her outfit, I could guess what was going on.

"I can treat it, and I can guarantee all the victims of Elysian Glow beauty salon will return to normal."

Ember excitedly took off her sunglasses. "Really?"

I nodded. "I just don't like being forced. For people who come to me normally for treatment, I generally don't refuse."

Ember said excitedly, "That's great! As long as you can cure my face, I'm willing to pay any amount!"
