It was well over an hour before they returned. Sarah climbed down of Louisiana and hugs her dragon and rubbed her nose. Where did you two go Nirka asked, Louisiana showed me where they live in the caves, it was wonderful. I can’t wait until we go up to see them Sarah said. That will be a while they will still have to come here for a bit until we have learned all your abilities. Brandon and Devon looked at each other saying at the same time Jumping contest and did I high five. Nirka rolled her eyes and said what am to do with the two of you. The dragons stayed for about another hour and then Lucy told her children it was time to go home and eat and sleep they both complained, but Lucy had made them say their good- byes and they would see them soon. Nirka hugged Lucy and off the three of them flew home.
Who is ready for more presents Brandon said. More presents? Sarah questioned. Lots more Brandon said. And cake. A real cake? Sarah had never had cake before, her family was too big and thing to make a cake were expensive, they always got a present made by dad which she loved. She would rather see her brother and sisters have thing they needed that is what made her happy on her birthday.
As they went into the house Gwen, Nirka went and put on coffee, and Nirka got her drink. Everyone else had gone into the living room. Gwen and Nirka brought everyone their coffee and Isabel her tea. Devon was sitting in one of the chairs, so Nirka sat on the floor between his legs. He leaned forward and kissed her before sitting back up again. Uncle Ryan came out of one of the rooms with something wrapped in brown paper, Sarah took it and said thank you and started unwrapping the paper. Inside was a black silk cape that had witch symbols sewn in gold on it. Sarah had never seen anything so beautiful, and it had her name on the front she put it on it fit perfect she thanked uncle Ryan and Aunt Isabel again. My turn Gwen said pointing to Ryan to get the box for her. Ryan placed a large wooden box onto the coffee table and helped Sarah open the lid, there was a note on top of the straw she read it out loud to everyone.

Sarah looked a Gwen, Really? Yes, really Gwen said now look at what else is in the box. Sarah careful lifted off the straw, she found a wand, books with blank pages, all kinds of jars, a book of spells and a beautiful pen. Sarah looked a bit confused. Asking Gwen, Am I part witch. Gwen smiled and nodded her head. Wow Sarah said. Ok, ok, Devon said now for our present he got up without hitting Nirka with his leg, Ryan, and Devon swopped boxes. Sarah took a deep breath and lifted the lid again there was a note on top of the straw. She again read it aloud.

She lifted the straw and the fist thing she saw was a crossbow with arrows she took them out and carefully and found the crossbow and the bag that held the arrows had her name on them. She sat them down and took out a smaller box and took off its lid. She gasped she did not know what to say she looked at Nirka and back at the box, inside were 4 daggers with sheaths the daggers had fine bone handles that were engraved with a different elemental symbol. Sarah put down the box she had tears of happiness In her eyes’ she went and hugged her auntie Nirka and Uncle Devon. These are all wonderful gifts Sarah said. Thank you so much. Ryan looked at Brandon and Devon Nirka knew what was coming next, she smiled a big smile. All three men stood in front of Sarah then knelt on one knee and said in unison, we your guards swear an oath to protect you for the rest of your life little mother. Sarah did not know what to say. Nirka linked her and told her to say thank you and they could stand. Sarah took a deep breath then in a very grown-up voice said, I accept your service you may stand and thank you. The three men stood, and group hugged her. Cake time said Isabel. Isabel got the cake and put it on the table Devon put three candles in it as Ryan said one for today one for tomorrow and one for eternity. They lit the candles and Sarah made a wish then blew out the candles and served up the cake with the fresh Coffee Nirka had made and tea for Isabel. Devon even took a small piece to celebrate with her. Sarah was sitting at the table with everyone but Ryan who had gone into the kitchen, he got Nirka her drink and said to Sarah I want to give you your first test. Ok Sarah said. Nirka watched conflicted she was unsure if she wanted Sarah to have vampire in her. Ryan took and put a goblet in front of Sarah. He stood back and everyone watched and waited to see what Sarah did. But Sarah never noticed them watching suddenly when Ryan had put the goblet down, she got this uncomfortable thirst. She could smell the sweetness of what was in the goblet. She could see magic bubble floating in and on top of the liquid. She took the goblet to her mouth, the room as dead silent waiting to see. When the warm liquid touched her lips and tongue her eyes closed, she was in bliss the drink was amazing she could not get enough of it.
