Chapter 117 Even the Children Were Planned
What if Thalia hates him later?
When William heard this, he inexplicably smiled.
"If I can't even handle things now, what's the point of talking about later?"
Everyone knew William was an extreme egoist. When it came to Thalia, he would achieve his goal no matter what.
Whether forcing or coaxing, these were just his methods.
But his goal was only one.
Angelina watched William stride out of the elevator.
Her steps fell slightly behind.
Suddenly she couldn't quite figure out whether William was doing this because of lingering feelings for Thalia or to get revenge for the harassment back then.
"Are you doing this because you don't have better options right now? Or do you simply want Thalia to suffer at your hands? The love-hate entanglements of youth were because we were young and didn't know better, but now that you're an adult, if you're still using the same tactics Thalia used on you back then, can I understand this to mean that you've actually remembered what happened all along?"
Angelina had heard the general story.
The tactics Thalia used to pursue William back then - even she, nearly thirty years old, found them suffocating and overwhelming to hear about.
Following him everywhere to claim her territory, any female classmate around William would get a talking-to from Thalia, who wielded her status as Emerald City's princess.
And in the end, using money to suppress people.
How could someone like William, with such strong self-respect, allow a woman to torment him like that?
William didn't stop walking, never intending to respond to Angelina's words.
Upstairs, Thalia was looking through the prenuptial agreement William had carefully drafted.
Coming across a few parts she didn't understand, she called Brian over and pointed to clause seven: "What does this mean?"
"It means if you have a child during these two years of marriage, the child goes to you. You have to guarantee Mr. Brown the right to see the child twice a week. He'll pay high child support, settled all at once, and won't bother you anymore."
Thalia's expression changed. He really was thinking ahead, even planning for children.
"Just tell me directly - what terms here are favorable to me?"
Brian glanced through it: "Pretty much all of them are favorable."
Thalia laughed in anger, tapping clause seven with her fingertip: "You call this favorable?"
"Ms. Smith, many people get divorced and don't get custody of the kids, let alone any money."
"So I should thank him for thinking of me?"
"Mr. Brown isn't stingy," Brian said, looking at Thalia's furious expression and thinking for a long time before coming up with this line.
Not stingy?
William really wasn't stingy - he was generous.
But what did any of this have to do with her?
"Why don't you just sign it! Our Mr. Brown is way better than that Mr. Wood guy, right? If you could be interested in Mr. Wood, you'd definitely be more interested in our Mr. Brown."
Interested in William?
Being interested in William - what's the difference between that and getting skinned alive?
Back in school it was one thing, but now William was completely different. He held power, and one wrong move could make her lose everything.
William could toy with her like she was an ant.
Look at her now - being played in the palm of his hand with no way out.
She'd better not end up with no money and no one, becoming completely broke.
"Do you know what I saw in Walter?" Thalia looked at Brian and asked seriously.
"What?"
"He's dumb."
Brian: .......... What should he say?
Even if everyone in the world's IQ regressed, William would still be sharp. William, dumb?
That was impossible.
"How about you look at some other advantages? Think about it - you're in entertainment, you run your own media company. If you're with our Mr. Brown, you'll never have to worry about lawsuits. You can call on anyone from the law firm, whoever you want can serve you. In Emerald City, you'd be the only one with this privilege."
Thalia crossed her arms, leaned back in her chair and raised her chin at him: "Keep going."
"Mr. Brown is usually busy, travels frequently, often not home. The company is always managed by Ms. Jolie. Think about it - finding a husband like this, he's away on business all the time, you play around at home by yourself. How comfortable would that be?"
"Dating male celebrities today, male models tomorrow, rotating through them one after another. If they accuse you of playing with their feelings, you just get Mr. Brown to protect your legal rights."
"Isn't that exciting?"
"Plus, don't you think Mr. Brown screwed you over? After you marry him, go out and find men every day to mess with him. What Mr. Brown fears most is Vaughn. If he dares bully you, just go back to the Brown Villa, hug Vaughn's leg and cry. Someone will naturally take care of him."
"Mr. Brown is currently negotiating a private jet deal. When the time comes, you can take his private jet with male models to go shopping on islands. Wouldn't that be amazing?"
Brian racked his brain helping William pursue Thalia.
His silver tongue worked overtime.
He painted a picture of blissful married life according to Thalia's personality.
Thalia listened and was actually tempted.
"How much is William paying you to sweet-talk me like this?"
Brian: ?
Thalia leaned forward, propping her chin on her hands as she looked at Brian: "How about this - whatever Mr. Brown is paying you, I'll double it. Help me turn the tables on him instead and get him to let me go."
Brian: ........
"Ms. Smith, I'm just a secretary."
"Did you seem like just a secretary when you were trying to trick me just now?"
"Want me to go repeat everything you just said word for word?"
Brian: ..... Did he just dig a hole and bury himself in it?
Sure enough, Thalia and William were the same type of people.
..........
"Elon," Dashiell called Elon right after seeing Thalia off.
On the other end, Elon's voice gave a light acknowledgment.
Dashiell continued: "I just met with Ms. Smith."
"Do you think you can take on the Smith family's case?"
Dashiell laughed lightly: "Elon, you're overestimating me. The Smith family looks prosperous on the surface, but the relationships underneath are incredibly complex. Once I take on the Smith family's case, plenty of people will want me dead. The high commission isn't worth my life and assets."
Dashiell and Marie were college classmates. The two had almost had a brief fling back then, but because both were extremely clear-headed and rational people, they nipped that relationship in the bud.
Marie had originally wanted to find this old classmate to handle her divorce case.
Dashiell knew he didn't have a hundred percent chance of winning her case, so he recommended they find Angelina instead. Through various interactions, they stayed in touch.
"You're still as honest as you were back then."
Elon didn't even bother with polite small talk anymore.
Dashiell's fingers tightened slightly around his phone. Of course he knew what Elon of the Wilson family meant in Emerald City.
If William's future path was in business, then Elon would definitely be going in the opposite direction.
