Chapter 470 This Is My Weapon
"Could it be that he also has connections and influence in Regal City?"
Stefan thought for a moment before speaking. "Is there any chance this is Dione's doing?"
The Jimenez family's situation was unclear now. Steven and Eileen had fallen into an impossible predicament.
Full of resentment, unwilling to let Dione crush the Jimenez family into the ground.
They wanted to fight back, but didn't have the ability.
Not only were they being blackmailed, but they also had less power than her.
Hearing this, Eileen closed her eyes slightly, a murderous look flashing in them. "I told you long ago that when dealing with problems, you can't leave loose ends. Now things have gotten worse. If you had listened to me back then and knew that once she escaped you should have dealt with her completely, we wouldn't be so passive now."
"Grandma, now's not the time to bring up old issues. What we need now is to solve the problem," Sean said, seeing Steven's expression getting worse and worse with Eileen's words, and stepped in to stop her.
Eileen was burning with anger. "William is just like his birth mother - looks like he can fool everyone, and his methods are even worse."
"Have you said enough?"
"Like what you gave birth to is so great. If what you gave birth to was so great, would he be reported for messing around with women and still be stuck at the police station?"
"The Jimenez family worked so hard to raise him all these years, just waiting for him to get promoted, and what happened?"
"Is he only my son?"
Stefan watched the two argue endlessly, keeping his head down and standing to the side, trying to minimize his presence.
Only Sean, hearing these words, felt like someone was poking his spine. Who would have thought that at almost thirty years old, his father would be arrested for soliciting prostitutes?
If word got out, it would be utterly humiliating.
"You know full well this whole thing was a setup by Dione, yet you still bring it up. Do you think it's something to be proud of? You and your ex-wife's daughter sent your current wife's son to the police station, and everyone's in their fifties, still having to endure this kind of gossip."
Before Dione came back, the Jimenez family had been doing fine, even thriving. After all, Steven's status as an economist was right there, plus he came from a top university leadership position. Every year in Regal City, plenty of businessmen came to him to study economic trends.
But now look - a university leader raised a son who solicits prostitutes.
His face had been completely disgraced.
It was already a shameful matter, and today his own family was bringing it up to poke at his wounds.
Simply unbearable.
Outside, Michael held his phone with the recording on, standing in the cold winter wind listening to the beautiful symphony inside the house. His mood couldn't be better than that.
Seeing the argument was about over, he opened WhatsApp and sent the recording to Thalia.
.......
"Listening to what?" William came in from the bathroom in the early morning, carrying a faint smell of cigarettes.
Clearly, he'd smoked while using the bathroom.
Thalia never tried to control him - indirectly, she was also using her actions to tell William that she hoped he wouldn't control her either.
Everyone has their own habits. Two people living together is about adjusting and getting along harmoniously, not about getting rid of each other over every little annoyance.
"Dione sent Steven's son to jail?"
"And used soliciting prostitutes as the method?"
William nodded. "I've heard about it."
Thalia shook her head while holding her phone. "Isn't that too intense?"
No wonder Steven hated Dione so much. The son he'd carefully raised for years, just waiting to retire in glory, got kicked down by Dione.
After working hard for decades to finally reach his current position, it all fell apart.
Probably everyone in the Jimenez family was now under Dione's control. She seemed like someone extremely calculating and shrewd.
"The waters in Regal City run much deeper than in Emerald City. I don't want you getting too involved," William took the phone from Thalia's hand and glanced at it. Seeing the message was from Michael, his eyes flickered.
"Keep your distance from Michael."
"Why? I'm not interested in him, and right now his goals should be the same as ours."
"Same goals don't mean he's someone we can use."
"William, whether you can turn someone into a weapon depends on how you use them."
Thalia wanted to bring Michael in. Once he was in, dealing with the Jimenez family would just be a matter of whether they wanted to or not.
William stood by the bed holding Thalia's phone, studying her, trying to read her emotions. Seeing her expression was normal, he spoke softly. "You know he likes you?"
"Of course I know!" Thalia didn't avoid the topic at all, then continued, "The deeper his feelings, the sharper I can make him."
William laughed, but the smile didn't reach his eyes. He casually tossed the phone onto the bed. "I don't need my lover to trade on her looks for gain."
"Looks? William, this is my weapon," Thalia had always known her advantages.
"Beauty combined with anything else is unbeatable."
…………
"Today's news is all about Mr. Brown," Jacob walked into the villa's yoga room with an iPad, watching as she came out drenched in sweat, and handed the iPad to her.
Looking at Dione's figure, Jacob had to admit that for a woman in her fifties with no excess fat, there were only two types - either naturally beautiful or extremely disciplined.
And Dione belonged to the latter. She was someone extremely harsh on herself, and needless to say, even harsher on others.
Dione took the iPad upstairs. Before she could say anything, the phone rang. The person on the other end said something.
She answered and said she'd come over later.
"They're still in Regal City?"
"Still here."
"Don't they love being in the news? Then let them get their fill. Tell me when they return to Emerald City."
"Arrange a car to take me to the shopping center."
Thalia and William had originally planned to return today, but because William said this morning he wanted to stay one more day, Thalia agreed. To her, it was just spending William's money in a different place.
"You go shop, I'll go get a coffee."
At the mall, William wore a black coat over a white shirt with no tie, looking casual.
She knew men weren't very interested in shopping, so she didn't insist.
She scanned around, just picked which store to enter, and was about to go in when the commotion in the mall's main hall caught her attention.
She turned around to see William and Dione locked in eye contact, with a large group of reporters swarming toward them.
