Chapter 10 Are Thalia and William in a Romantic Relationship?
The first shoot for Thalia's new reality show ended up at Daniel's club, of all places.
Daniel was infamous in Emerald City for his wild ways. Thalia had always thought there was more to him than met the eye.
He had a knack for turning upscale venues into his personal playgrounds.
Not only did he frequent these places, but he also managed to steal their business.
Daniel thrived on exploiting human weaknesses. Whatever people wanted, he provided.
But with William around, he never broke the law.
Thalia crossed her arms and stared at Daniel, clearly frustrated.
Daniel, wearing a casual shirt, toyed with a string of beads. Seeing Thalia's frustration, he was clearly amused. "Seeing me gets under your skin, huh?"
Thalia took a deep breath and closed her eyes for a moment.
"The whole town's buzzing about how you were chased for two days straight. Thought you'd be hiding out for a while. Guess you're tougher than I thought."
Thalia let out a bitter laugh. "The worse things are for me, the happier you get, right?"
"Absolutely," Daniel's fingers danced over the beads.
He was obviously in a great mood. Thalia, once so proud and untouchable, had made him suffer in the past. Now that she was down, he was naturally delighted.
Thalia replied lazily, "Well, if I'm not happy, I'll make sure William isn't either."
Daniel smirked. "You look good, but you don't know how to be a decent person. What a waste."
"Get out of the way!" Thalia snapped as she brushed past him, heading for the resting area assigned to them.
Daniel followed her. "I'm still curious. When you and William get intimate, who's in charge?"
"What really happened that night? You were drunk, and so was William?"
Thalia slammed the door shut, cutting off his voice.
The reality show was streamed live.
The production team had a box for everyone to draw lots from, determining which activity they'd participate in.
It was like a skills competition, but unlike other shows where participants knew the categories in advance, this one kept them a surprise.
Thalia's group was the first episode. The promotion had been massive, and as soon as the live stream started, ten thousand viewers flooded in.
Thalia was surprised to see Nora there too. Their eyes met, and both were filled with anger.
Thalia sighed inwardly. 'Just my luck.'
Daniel's building had every possible activity, like a massive indoor amusement park—billiards, shooting, horseback riding, table tennis, and more.
But of all things, Thalia drew kickboxing.
If she lost, she'd be out of the show.
No need to wait until the next day; that very night, headlines would read: #Thalia Becomes the First to be Eliminated.
She couldn't afford to lose face like that!
"Thalia, you're so lucky!" Nora taunted from the side.
Another unfortunate soul, a new male idol, was in the same boat.
"Thalia's match is on the sixth floor..."
On the sixth floor, in the boxing ring, Thalia, dressed in a sleek white sports outfit, calmly put on her gloves, radiating confidence.
"Don't push yourself too hard. If you have to, at least protect your face; it's valuable..." Layla, clinging to the ropes below, earnestly advised Thalia.
"There's no shame in losing. Just put your pride aside. How many female celebrities know kickboxing anyway?"
"If he touches you, just fall to the ground. I'll argue with the directors."
Layla was furious! What kind of twisted project was this? Kickboxing? Asking a delicate female star to kickbox?
"What are the rules?" Thalia asked the man across from her.
"Beat me, and you win."
"Then don't you dare go easy on me."
The opponent scoffed.
With that, Thalia sprinted towards the man, her speed catching him off guard. As he tried to dodge to the opposite side, Thalia anticipated his move, lifted her leg, and kicked the 6'1" man out of the ring with a single blow.
The comment section of the live stream went wild over Thalia's swift and decisive kick.
Everyone knew Thalia's image was gentle and delicate!
Standing in the ring, Thalia looked down at the bewildered man lying on the ground, slowly removing her gloves with an air of nobility. "The thing I hate most in this life is men who look down on women."
"When men can have wombs and bear children, then you can look down on women."
[Thalia is so bold!]
[Her father is one of the top fifty richest men! Who else would dare say that?]
[Her current boyfriend is one of the top lawyers in the country. Who else would dare say that?]
[Awesome, I'm waving the flag for Thalia!]
The live stream went berserk.
The production team on site was stunned.
In the resting area, Layla blocked the camera, looking at Thalia. "When did you learn to fight?"
"I've always known how," Thalia replied nonchalantly, holding a water bottle.
"Why didn't you tell me?"
"Did you ask?" Thalia retorted.
Layla was taken aback. "I'll go buy you a trending topic."
She already had the keywords in mind: #Delicate Flower VS Queen of Kickboxing.
"Did you call me up here for this life-or-death matter?" William said.
Upstairs, Daniel sat in the VIP room, watching the ring below. He had initially wanted William to see Thalia get defeated.
But to his surprise, Thalia single-handedly took the guy down.
Daniel turned stiffly, his gaze falling on William. "What do you think? If she ever gets fed up with chasing you, will she blow your head off?"
William was silent.
Daniel added, "Maybe you should just give in. Your dad's too old to have another kid anyway."
William lit a cigarette nonchalantly. "She can't beat me, but you, you better watch out."
After the show, Thalia took the elevator to the parking lot.
She hadn't even stepped out when reporters' flashbulbs started going off.
"Thalia, are you and Mr. Brown in a relationship?"
"Yes," Thalia admitted openly.
"We just interviewed Mr. Brown, and he seemed quite unhappy, and..."
The crowd parted, and from a distance, Thalia saw William opening his car door, ready to get in.
