Chapter 79 The Silver Horizon

Chapter 79 The Silver Horizon

The days after the nationals victory settled into a new kind of peace. One that feels earned, hard-won, and still tinged with the awareness that not all battles were finished.

Zephyra woke slowly the morning after the championship,to sunlight filtering through the curtains and warming the bed. Kaelric was already awake, propped on one elbow, watching her with soft gray eyes. The mate bond hummed contentedly between them, silver and steady.

“Morning,my champion,” she murmured, reaching up to trace his jaw.

He caught her hand and kissed her palm. “Morning, my loudest cheerleader. My mate.” He said grinning.

They stayed in bed for a long while, trading lazy kisses and quiet words. The intensity of the finals still lingered in their bodies. The adrenaline rush, the fear, and most importantly, the triumph is still there but now, it's in the safety of their room, it softened into something deeper. Gratitude. Love and Certainty.

Downstairs, Seraphina had prepared a celebratory breakfast for them. She hugged them both again when they came downstairs. Her eyes were shining with pride as they recounted the final moments on the field. Elowen joined them later, bringing ridiculous amounts of victory gifts and laughter that filled the house. For the first time in what felt like forever, the atmosphere was light and joyful without shadows pressing in.

But the larger world waited.

Two days later, the Council held its follow-up session. Victor and Cassian were present, their influence visibly diminished after the very public display of failure on the field. The evidence of their interference, the silver weapons, the rogue enforcers, the coordinated attempt to break the bond was undeniable.

Zephyra and Kaelric stood together before the Council, hands clasped, the mate bond glowing visibly between them as proof. Zephyra spoke with quiet strength, her voice carrying natural alpha resonance.

“This bond was never a threat. At least not to anyone.” she said. “It was a beginning of something we are building. I believe that i and my mate have proven to you all the truth and potency our bond time and again right?" Zephyra asked making sure to make a eye contact with every elder in the council. " We have shown you guy several times , in the Assembly Hall, on the rugby field, and in every day we choose each other. It shows that our bond is real. Trying to break it only reveals fear of change.”she says continuing.

Kaelric stood shoulder to shoulder with her. “We are not here asking for permission, rather we simply are informing you that this is our reality. Our future. So please , make peace with it. ” Kaleric said looking at every elder present while marking their face.

The Council’s ruling was clear. The bond was officially recognized and protected. Victor and Cassian faced formal censure and restrictions on their influence. The old order was shifting, whether they liked it or not.

In the weeks that followed, life began to bloom in earnest.

Zephyra’s alpha training deepened under Professor Hilda’s guidance. She could now shift fully when needed, moving between forms with control and grace. The scholarship at the Alpha Heirs Academy was secured, and she began attending classes part-time while continuing cheer and supporting Kaelric.

Kaelric was approached by several professional rugby organizations. He accepted a promising offer that allowed him to represent his pack while building his own legacy on his terms.

Aldric’s condition had stabilized. Zephyra spoke to him on the phone twice more. It was careful, and honest conversations that built fragile bridges. Zephyra wasn’t ready to call him “father” yet, but she no longer carried the sharp edge of hatred. Healing was slow. Honest. On her timeline.

Seraphina thrived in her new role. The house became a true home. One that is warm, open, filled with laughter and the occasional quiet evening where the three of them simply existed together.

Six Months Later

Under the oak tree where so much had begun and been reborn, Kaelric dropped to one knee beneath strings of soft lights.

The moon was full. The mate bond glowed between them as he opened the small box, revealing a ring that wove together Viremont strength and Lunar Crown elegance.

“Zephyra Noctaryn,” he said, voice thick with emotion, “you stumbled into my life when everything was falling apart and somehow made it whole. I choose you today, tomorrow, and every day after. Will you be my mate, officially, publicly, forever?”

Tears streamed down her face as she laughed through them.

“Yes,” she whispered. “Always yes.”

He slipped the ring on her finger and rose, pulling her into a deep, passionate kiss as the mate bond blazed brilliantly around them.
