Chapter 284 Let Me Take Care Of You
Chapter 284 Let Me Take Care Of You
Vera's POV
I got downstairs from the office and immediately spotted Atlas's car. I opened the door and slid inside.
Atlas still had some documents in his hands, reading through them. Before he could set the papers down, I threw myself into his arms.
Atlas put away the documents, setting them aside. He held my soft body in a half-embrace, kissed the top of my fluffy hair, his voice full of concern. "What's wrong? Rough day at work?"
I shook my head. "It went fine. I'm just tired."
A smile tugged at Atlas's lips. "Finally realized managing a company isn't easy?"
I lifted my head from his chest, reached up to cup his face, looking at him with pure admiration. "Babe, how do you manage such a massive company and still make it look so effortless?"
The smile in Atlas's eyes deepened. He turned his head and pressed a kiss into my palm, his gaze intense. "Because I'm that good."
The warm touch of his lips on my palm made it tingle and itch.
I quickly pulled my hand away. I cleared my throat lightly, changing the subject. "Thank god before I started, you had someone dig up dirt on everyone at the company. Having leverage on them—otherwise I don't think I could've handled today's situation."
Atlas just watched me, then reached out with his elegant index finger to lift my chin, his gaze settling on my lips.
His dark eyes seemed to flicker with flames. "I worked so hard doing all that research. Don't I deserve some kind of reward?"
I looked at his somewhat heated gaze. I smiled sweetly, lifting myself up to lean toward his lips and kissed him several times. "Thank you, baby."
Atlas stuck out his tongue, licking where I'd just kissed, his eyes darkening even more. "Isn't that thank-you gift a little light? Hmm?"
Before I could react, he gripped my waist and pulled me onto his lap. I naturally wrapped my arms around his neck.
Sitting on Atlas's lap, I could already feel his body's response. I took the initiative and kissed him.
Our lips met, warm and soft, intoxicating. My movements were light and gentle, taking the lead in moving against his lips.
I whispered, "This time... let me take care of you."
A flash of pleasant surprise crossed Atlas's eyes as I pressed him back against the seat.
As the kiss deepened, the narrow car cabin seemed to fill with waves of heat.
Atlas breathed slightly harder. "Babe, that's not nearly enough..."
A hint of helplessness flashed in my eyes, but my voice was full of indulgence. "Okay..."
As I spoke, my slender fingers moved to his belt. I'd become quite practiced at unbuckling his belt.
A smile flashed in Atlas's depths of his eyes, desire intensifying. I'd thought I could stay in control until the end. But Atlas was too much for me. Before long, I collapsed limply in his arms.
"So delicate." Atlas held my soft, warm body, his eyes full of affection.
He kicked the back of the front seat. "Pull over."
James quickly found a secluded street and stopped the car. He opened the door and stepped out.
Inside the car, Atlas flipped over and took control.
This was our first time in a car. Both he and it seemed unusually excited.
I gazed at Atlas with hazy eyes, giving him my body and soul completely.
In the heat of passion, I leaned against Atlas's shoulder, murmuring softly, "You know what? Today at the company, facing all those sharks, I was actually scared."
"But then I thought—my husband is Atlas Blackwell."
"And suddenly I wasn't afraid of anything anymore."
"You... you give me the courage to face everything."
Hearing these sweet words, the dark currents in Atlas's eyes surged even more fiercely.
His arms tightened around me suddenly. He became even more intense.
---
The estate villa.
James opened the back door of the car. Atlas wrapped me tightly in his coat before carrying me out of the car.
John saw us entering like this, his face full of concern. "What happened to Mrs. Blackwell?"
I poked my head out from the coat and smiled slightly. "I'm fine, John."
Atlas handed the coat draped over me to John. "Is dinner ready?"
John took the coat, smiling. "All prepared, sir."
Atlas didn't say anything more, just carried me to the dining room.
Atlas sat down with me on his lap. He picked up a bowl of chicken soup, scooped up a spoonful, and brought it to my lips. "Open up."
I'd grown used to him feeding me. I obediently closed my lips around the spoon and drank the soup.
After I'd finished most of the soup, Atlas fed me some nutritious quinoa and deep-sea fish.
I'd burned so much energy today that I was starving, so I ate quite a bit.
Once I'd eaten enough, Atlas finally started eating his own food.
I watched him trying to hold me with one hand while eating with the other—it wasn't very convenient. "Put me down so you can eat properly."
But Atlas didn't allow it. His hand at my waist tightened slightly instead, his voice gentle. "Don't move."
I sighed helplessly and stayed on his lap.
Just then, my phone rang. I pulled it out to look—it was Bill.
I answered the call. Before I could say anything, Bill's warm voice came through. "Vera, my dear..."
