SIXTY-THREE
**-Scott’s POV-**
“What the…” I whisper, not expecting that. Raki is still standing in the door opening, as if he’s waiting for my response. I’m having an internal battle, should I let Raki come closer? I sigh, it’s not only Indy I’m talking about, Buwan has lost her babies too.
“Come…” I nod at Raki and he walks closer. He jumps up the bed and sniffs Indy’s stomach and neck before he curls himself up against her body. He lets his head rest on his paws, facing me. He never stops looking at me and I’m almost feeling uncomfortable. I stare back, though, not sure what this is all about.
*I think we have to talk…*
I hear a dark voice in my head. I totally freak out, hearing Raki’s voice in my head. “So you CAN mindlink us! Why haven’t you done that earlier?” I’m blown away, how is this possible?
*I found out a few days ago. It’s not easy though. But apparently it’s normal for Alpha’s to communicate between themselves, you know: in case of an emergency or war or something. But I guess we almost forgot how to use it, due to the past centuries and being seperated.*
Damn, this is weird but exciting at the same time. I bet Indy’s excited to hear so! That means she can communicate with him as well, being a Royal wolf.
“What can I do for you, Raki? Why are you here?”
*One question at a time… I felt her pain, her loss. It’s hurting me too. I know she needs me, as much as I need her.*
“You mean Buwan, right? Her wolf?”
But Raki isn’t answering, strangely enough. I frown and decide to try it too. I try to find Raki’s aura and focus on his presence. Being this close to him, makes it much easier, though. *Raki?*
*Yes, it’s not that bad, right?*
I chuckle. *It’s definitely not as easy with my own pack- or family members, but I’ll take it.*
We sit here in silence for a moment. I stare at Indy, still extremely worried about the state she will be in when she wakes up.
*She’s strong, Scott. She will need time, but she’s strong…*
It’s weird how Raki seems to read my mood, but it’s common for werewolves to be a bit more sensitive to emotions and instincts - some can do that better than others.
“I truly hope so.” I say with a sigh. “Raki, what do you want? Have you thought about it already?”
*I have. But I think it’s better to talk with Indy and Buwan first.*
“You should. Indy really wants to talk too, Raki. She needs to talk…”
I hear Ryan’s coming in and he’s immediately focusing on Raki. “What the HELL is he doing here?” He roars.
I stand up and stare at Ryan, warning him with my eyes. “Easy, it’s fine, really. It’s better for Buwan too, trust me.”

**-Ryan’s POV-**
The moment I walked in the hospital, I felt a different aura being close to my mate. I hurried to her room, only to see a big black wolf lying closely to Indy’s body. My wolf is about to lose it and I start yelling, asking what he’s doing here. But Scott’s the one that told me that’s OK. HOW can this be OK?
*I’m not here to harm her, Alpha Ryan…*
I step back, confused by the voice in my head. Scott chuckles and I stare at him in confusion. “What the fuck, bro?”
“I was having the same reaction 10 minutes ago.” Scott says.
“How is this possible?” I ask. Scott explains it quickly and I have to say that I’m really interested in the whole thing. I try to do the same and without any problems I find Raki’s aura and I connect with him.
*Trust me man, if you hurt her I don’t hesitate to take your life too…*
Raki’s eyes are getting darker while he stares back into mine, not even a bit intimidated by my words. I smile, maybe I’m going to like him. This wolf has so much potential, he could be one of the strongest werewolves around if it wasn’t for his human. I shake my head, I now feel what Indy mentioned all that time. This aura is so much calmer, cleaner almost, than the one that he and his human had together. Too bad it has to end the way it did.
“Well..” I hear Scott stand up, “...I’d love to stay around, but I really can use some food and a shower. I’ll be back in an hour or so. Raki, can I bring something for you too?”
Raki looks at Scott and he growls a bit. “Good, I’ll bring something. See you soon.”
I watch him walk out the room and I stare back at Raki, still not knowing what I have to think about all this. I sigh, and sit down in the chair Scott just stood up from.
“Sooo… You finally decided to hug your wolf-mate?”
A growl fills the room, I was expecting that. *Don’t talk about her like that. She’s still mine too, whether you like it or not.”
I narrow my eyes. “What do you mean by ‘she’? You mean Buwan, right?”
*Really? It's like I hear your brother talking...*
We’re having a staring contest, while I try to keep my wolf inside. My aura’s bursting insanely and I don’t try to hide it. Finally, Raki gives up and stares down. But I’m not sure if he’s doing that on purpose or not.
I feel better, now I’m close to Indy. I stand up and walk around the bed. I’m now on the other side, away from Raki and I wipe her hair to the side before I give her a kiss on her forehead. “Hey princess, I’m back.”
I enjoy the sparks and warm feeling that instantly is sent through my body while I kiss her. Gosh, I really love this woman. She’s my everything: the air my lungs need to breath, the food for my soul and the blood my body needs to function. How come that I didn’t feel this incomplete before I met her? But now, when I’m not in the same room, I already have a restless feeling in my body. I at least need to smell or see her, to calm my body down.
I walk to the window and stare into the forest, my hands in my pockets. Why is live testing us this way? We have only known each other for weeks, and we’ve already gone through so much! Not even mentioning Indy, who even suffered more. Damn, I knew she was strong, but if I think about it she’s even stronger than we all thought. I turn around and watch the woman I love so much. Raki’s still in the same position as I came in here. His back to Indy’s stomach, his head resting on his paws while his eyes follow me around the room.
“You don’t have to stare at me like that, Raki. You know I won’t do anything weird. She’s my everything, I will kill myself before hurting her…”
*I know. I only watch you so you can’t sneak on me.*
“Really? I won’t. You’re good, Raki. It was your human that was a danger for us and for her - for Indy. I feel, *I know*, that you’re good. I will never hurt you if it’s not necessary.”
*Khal was a good man, but he changed over the years. Even I couldn’t do anything, I was as powerless as a baby against a bear. Believe me, I tried…*
I’m surprised to hear his words, but I don’t dare to ask further.
Raki and I waited for Indy to wake up, the minutes passed by and at one moment I got a mindlink from Scott: some of the warriors needed him, so he asked me to tell him when Indy wakes up.
It’s now almost three hours, after her breakdown and she can wake up any moment. It’s like Raki knows as well, ‘cause he changes position and towers above Indy’s body. He pushes with his nose against her body, licking her hand and after a minute I see her reacting to his touches.
The moment she opens her eyes, she sees Raki. I expected her to frighten, but she didn't. I guess her wolf already sensed Raki before she did and warned her about it. Indy touches the head of Raki but doesn’t say a thing.
I wait for her to acknowledge my presence and the moment she does, my heart skips a beat. “Hi princess, good you’re awake again. How are you feeling?”
She smiles back at me, her eyes still dull but definitely awake. “Still tired and.. empty.”
My stomach hurts, hearing her saying those words and for the first time I don’t feel pain because of her, but because of my own sorrow. We lost our pups. Yes, *our* pups. I feel tears falling down my cheeks. “... I know, babe. I’m so sorry.”
Indy holds her hand in the air, making a gesture for me to come closer. I immediately walk upon her and we hug. I kiss her cheeks and feel the salt of her tears. We cry together for a while. “Ryan?”
“Hmmm?” I whisper in her ear.
“Would you mind if you let us alone? I think we need to talk. And by ‘we’, I mean Raki and I.”
I look into Indy’s eyes and I smile softly. “Of course babe. I’ll stay close, if you don’t mind. Mindlink me when you’re done talking, alright?”
She nods. “I will do.”
I give her a last kiss on her hand before I walk away. “Oh, Ryan?”
I turn around.
“You don’t have to mindlink Scott, he knows I’m awake and I’ve asked him to wait too.”
“Alright. See you soon, princess.”
