Chapter 146 Last Package
Chapter 146 Last Package
Uriel's POV
Once again, everything had gone back to normal.
Mirabel stepped down as Ryder's assistant, promising to heal. Shelly and Landon were no longer hiding their relationships. Ryder and went back to being the talk of the town.
As for our parents, we were spending much more time with them. Eve was happy to see Ryder and I together too.
At this point, I could say ... What could possibly go wrong?
I was having my happy ending here guys.
"Can't feel shit," Ryder frowned, pursing his lips as I peppered it with light pecks.
"You're trying to trick me into kissing you so you can bite my lips!" I giggled, shaking my head.
"It's love bite!"
"No, you're just a carnivorous animal, baby," I patted his chest playful, smiling up at him.
"One more then." He pushed his face forward. He caught my face in his hand, pressing his lips into mine.
"You dimwit!" Laughing hard, I wrapped my hand around his throat, threatening to choke him.
"You're turning me on," Ryder licked his lips, chuckling.
"I'll be late for my class! I'll see you soon okay?" I told him, hopping down. He waved at me, driving off.
He was going pick a new contract from his agency before going to school.
We had spent every weekend since our resolution, at his place. He always dropped me Monday morning to freshen up for school. Sometimes he waited to pick me up, then we went to eat outside together.
"I'm backkk," yelling, I pushed the door open. Bia quickly stood up from her bed.
"H..hi"
"Hey? Are you good?" My forehead creased in confusion.
She quickly packed her bag, throwing it's strap to her shoulder. She paced back and forth, acting confused. Unorganized.
Sighing sharply, I strolled to my nightstand. My grin widened as I stared at the brown packaged bag.
"This man," I cooed under my breath.
But wasn't I just with him?
"Do you know who brought this for me, Bia?" Holding the bag up, I asked.
"It came in few minutes ago," Bia's voice was shaky. "I'm leaving now."
My eyes blinked rapidly.
"Uhh...okay?"
My stomach knotted. Something didn't feel right. I picked up my phone dialing Ryder's number but they weren't available.
Shrugging, I went to take my bath first and then arranging my bag for class before putting on something nice.
Ordinarily, my body would be so eager to eat once I sight food but today was different for some reason.
My phone rang after I had just finished styling my hair. Smiling, I rushed to the nightstand only to see an unknown number calling.
Slowly, I placed the call on my ear. The familiar voice spoke up, making my breath hitch.
"Hey sis. It's your lovely fake twin, Emma,"
"How did you get my number?" Frowning, I asked.
"You're not the celebrity. Your boyfriend is. Besides, I also have my way,"
Rolling my eyes, I hissed loudly. "Did you call me to check if I was still alive?"
"Actually... I'm calling to tell you that I'd be declared a winner soon," she chuckled darkly.
"How so?" Curiously, I asked, taking a seat.
"You'll see soon. Meanwhile, it was nice hearing your voice for the last time,"
Scoffing, I rolled my eyes again. "What? Are you dying?"
Wait...what if she's about to kill herself?
"I'd say check the news but... You may not be able to."
The hairs on my neck stood, dread pooling my stomach.
"What's this nonsense you're spewing out, Emma? Emma!" The line had gone dead and unreachable too.
Sighing, I dropped the phone on the night stand.
My door pushed open with force, making me flinch. Bia barged in, her eyes wide open. She looked around, her eyes landing on me. Her chest heaved with relief.
Then her eyes darted to the food package.
"Do you care about the food, Bia. You can have it," my forehead creased.
Bia bit her lips, her eyes softened. She shook her head, lowering her head to the ground. "I'm sorry, Uriel,"
"Why - urgh!"
She had left again.
I went ahead to dial Shelly's number, wanting to tell her what Emma said and asked for her opinion because my head wasn't helping out with being blank.
She wasn't available too.
"What's wrong with their phone?!" I snapped under my breath, tossing my phone to the side.
I began debating whether to go to school or not. Honestly, I didn't trust Emma at all and I didn't know if she had planned something for me.
But she was far away from me.
Could that stop her though?
Considering she said she wasn't done with me?
Could she have paid people to abduct and kill me?
No, I have to reach Ryder.
If none of them answer my call, I'll take it as my cue to stay back home today, I thought to myself.
So I tried Ryder's number two more times and both times, it went to voicemail. So I dropped everything I wanted to tell him on the voicemail, dropping my phone aside.
My stomach grumbled. My eyes strolled up to the food, my lips stretching wide.
Ryder, my baby.
I should've taken the mistaken order as a sign not to eat but I was hungry and I also didn't want Ryder to feel like he wasted his money.
The thing that was ordered wasn't really what I liked to eat in the morning. It was something else and Ryder knew it too well.
Concluding that maybe the dispatcher rider messaged with my order, I still prepared to munch anyway.
The sweet scene of the food entered my nostrils making my stomach grumbled ten times the previous way it did.
"Easy, tiger. I'm about feeding you," I joked with myself, stuffing my mouth with the food. My eyes widened as the sweetness of the food spread across my tongue.
Before anyone could even say jack, I was rushing the food until i started to notice some funny movements in my body.
My head became fuzzy, my eyes dizzy and heavy. My head felt like it was closing in on me. My chest heaved up and down frantically, my hand letting go of the spoon.
I opened my mouth to call for help but nothing would come out. My body suddenly grew too weak to move an inch. My jaws were locking together.
Bam! And just like that, my body dropped to the floor with a heavy thud, my eyes slowly shutting down. My breath little to nothing.
Until....
Darkness.
My heart had stopped beating.
