Chapter 131 Meeting Deriel

Chapter 131 Meeting Deriel
Ryder's POV

Deriel.

I scrubbed my hand on my face roughly, trying to get the message off my head.

Uriel said the message wasn't meant for her but for someone else. She called Kathie and Kathie confirmed it too.

But deep down, I wasn't satisfied.

My head had even started giving this strange person a face.

Urgh!

"Babe, you've been staring into space for minutes now," Uriel raised her eyebrow at me, gently picking up her body lotion that laid on the bed.

I inhaled sharply, my eyes zeroing in on her, taking in how sweet she looked in a purple robe.

She wouldn't cheat on me right?

"I want to tell you something," I sighed, standing up with my hands tucked in my pocket.

She paused rubbing the lotion, staring at me with so much concern.

"Is everything okay?" She walked closer, placing a hand on my neck. Chuckling, I brought her warm palm down, holding them in my palm.

"I'm ready,"

Her eyebrow creased, "to do what? Sorry, I need more context, my love,"

"So I have been thinking about it for a long while. I... I think I'm ready to ...talk to Eve." My voice went low.

"Your mother?" Uriel's eyes widened, a ghost smile on her lips.

"One step at a time. Eve, yes,"

She threw herself into my body, wrapping her hands around me.

"Thank you, thank you! I'll call her right away," Her face beamed with a big fat smile. "You did the right thing, Ryder. I promise,"

As she left to call Eve, I brought out my phone texting Benjamin to summon the courage and rekindle with his child and her mother. I just wanted the best for my girl.

Though I knew Paul was occupying a great space in her life but as a child, we still needed our parents.

"She says next week! Is that fine?" Uriel brought the phone down from her ear, confirming from me.

I raised my thumb up, nodding

"Deal!" She said into the phone. "Oh, don't thank me, Eve. Your son came to the conclusion by himself."

"You are even more happy than I am," I said, wrapping my arms around her waist.

She giggled, relaxing into my arms. "Because I've longed for this moment?"

"Thank you, Uriel. If you hadn't taken that bold step to know who was threatening me - though I don't appreciate you putting yourself in harms way for me - but if you hadn't done that, I wouldn't have known my mother was dying,"

She turned, wrapping her arms around my neck. "It's nothing, babe. I should be thanking you for giving her a chance. You're a sweet man,"

I leaned down, placing my lips on hers softly. She sighed into my lips, sucking and nibbling. Electric waves shot through my body, activating all the nerves. My hand roamed up and down her body, cupping her ass as I pressed her into my already erected member.

"Fuck, I want you, Uriel," I breathed raggedly, my hands moving to untie her robe.

She quickly caught my hand, shaking her head.

"Why?" I asked, my tone sharp.

"I... I actually have somewhere to be. Like now," Uriel winced, taking a step back. My heart sank.

"Oh."

"I'll make it home to you, I promise." Uriel's eyes held guilt in them.

"Where are you going to?" I asked, watching her surf through the closet for her cloth. Not like she had a lot here anyway.

"I need to meet up with Kathie and Chloe. We have this thing we're..."

"Planning. Yeah, it's always that." Rolling my eyes, I threw myself on the bed, my head looking up to the ceiling.

"I'll explain everything to you this evening. I mean it," Uriel placed a soft kiss on my lips, dropping down her robe. "I also won't hold back too,"

My eyes closed shut. I knew if I looked at her bare body, I'd be hard as a rock. I couldn't be that when she wasn't ready.

I didn't even know when I drifted to sleep in that short moment. When I told you Deriel had haunted my sleep, cutting it short, you didn't believe me...but it was the truth.

I stirred on the bed, searching for my phone that blared loudly. Without looking at the number, I picked.

"Hey bro! We're ten minutes away from your place,"

"I'm in the middle of something." I told Peter.

"We know it's definitely not your woman and neither is it paperwork. So get the fuck outta that shit you claim to be in its middle," I heard Mason say.

"Fuck you guys." I hung up.

After resting for a while, I pushed myself to the bathroom, taking a cool shower to calm my nerves. My senses finally registered that Uriel has gone, taking in the emptiness of my house.

"She didn't wake me up," I muttered under my breath, dialing her number immediately after bathing.

All calls went to voicemail.

My doorbell rang, alerting me of my friends arrival. I granted access, strolling out to meet them in just towels.

"Ew bro! Put on a damn cloth!" Mason shot at me, eyeing me in pure disgust.

"You should actually be checked cos why does it affect you?" Peter said from where he stood, holding my fridge open. Mason flipped him off.

I rushed to Peter, snatching my new wine out of his hand. I planned on drinking it with Uriel.

"Stingy goat," Peter shot at me, picking something else to eat.

"Don't you have your own supplies?" Raised my eyebrow at him, I shot at him.

"Go pick something good to wear, we're going out!" Mason told me.

"I don't want to. I don't feel like it," I frowned.

"If the girls are going to have fun, why can't we?" Peter muttered, his mouth filled with food.

Eyeing him in disgust, I shoved past him.

"So, the girls are really going out?" My voice sounded small.

They both looked at me as if I had grown two heads.

"No way!" Mason yelled, clapping his hand as he laughed.

"You don't think Uriel is cheating on you, do you?" Peter raised his eyebrow at me, amusement evident in his face.

"Not that. She's just hiding something and I can't feel it."

Mason and Peter shared a look. Peter cleared his throat, turning back to his food.

"What's wrong?" I looked between them.

"Maybe she's pregnant," Mason said, his tone serious.

This time, I laughed hard. They both looked at me weirdly, eyeing me up and down in confusion.

"Good joke,"

"Bro, just go wear something. Maybe you need two bad bitches to ease off your stress," Peter pointed.

"If it's a club -"

"It's not!" They both yelled, frowning at me.

Rolling my eyes, I rushed up the stairs. It took me minutes, just staring blankly at my closet.

After a while, I settled for a plain dark blue trouser and a white vintage shirt, copying the dress code on my stupid friends. After slipping my legs into my corporate and wearing my perfume, I dashed downstairs, fixing my watch on my wrist.

"Ouuuu! Too bad, all these might be ..."

"Shut up!" Mason shot Peter a glare.

"I hope you've not emptied my fucking fridge"

"I'm considering staying back..."

"Peter!" Mason and I yelled at him simultaneously.

How did I befriend this guy?

"Let's go. Come on," I told them, picking my key from the holder.

"I call dibs! Oh right, you're coming with your car, Mason. Well, I still call dibs on front seat with my babe, Ryder," Peter wiggled his eyebrow at me.

"Take him with you please," I begged, pushing Peter away from me.

"You need my directions, Bingo!" Peter rushed to the passengers door, waiting for me

Growling, I unlocked the car. We drove around for a good number of minutes, Peter constantly tapping away on his phone.

He would tell me to slow down or stop so he could check for something but came back with nothing.

I was on the verge on turning the hell back when he told me we had reached our destination.

"See? I told you the patient dog eats the ..."

"Are you guys trying to gang rape me? Isn't this a private suite?"

"Haha, very funny." Mason said dryly, leading the way.

They escorted me to an extent and told me to enter inside on my own as they needed to get something quickly from Mason's car.

I gave them suspicious looks but obeyed regardless. More like, I was curious.

The soft sweet smell of purple hibiscus was the first to hit my nostrils when I walked into the dark room.

"Fucking idiots. Was this their idea of boys outing?" I muttered to myself lowly, searching for my phone so I could use its torch to find the switch of this room when a light flickered on.

Then a voice.

A very melodious voice began singing softly.

My body froze, my eyes searching for the person I knew too well owned the voice.

"Maybe it's the way you say my name..." Uriel sang to Dandelion by Ruth. I recognized it instantly from the instrumental.

I took a step forward, my steps faltering to a stop when my eyes landed on Uriel.

There she stood in a while bustier floral gown, looking like an angel.

My angel.

I was too lost in her beauty, I didn't pay attention to her song but when she stopped, my hand jammed together, cheering.

She giggled, walking closer - not enough to cover the space.

"Hi Deriel,"
