Chapter 130 Who's Deriel?
Chapter 130 Who's Deriel?
Uriel's POV
Ryder cried on my chest all through the night.
I had never seen this side of him.
He was far broken by the ghost of his past. It was obvious that those were his demons - having to experience his family break apart and then his father dying while his mother was absent all through.
He had to become an adult at a tender age, mustering the heart of one too.
He was groomed by pain which had woven itself deep into his vein, building up heavy, steel guards around his heart, shielding his last humanity from the evil of the world.
"Morning babe," his voice was groggy.
Smiling, I ran my hand on his hair.
"Morning my love. How did you sleep?"
"Like a fucking cow," he chuckled lowly.
"And you weigh like one right now," I groaned out.
He quickly lifted his weight off me, rolling to the side of the bed.
I wasn't going to bring up last night at all. I promised myself to let him move at his own pace.
I knew he wasn't all what he portrayed out there to Eve. He was deeply hurt and said whatever he said to hurt her too. She didn't know it but I knew he would come around sooner or later.
"Your therapist called." I told him.
"Yeah, I scheduled a session and she probably is just calling to remind me." Ryder spoke, his voice hoarse.
"Is it today?"
He titled his head to meet me. "I want to go back with you,"
"Is it today, Ryder?" I asked again, raising my eyebrow at him.
"Why do I need a nother when you can be like this?" He scoffed, shutting his eyes.
"Baby, you know a mother's love is ..."
"Different" Ryder and I said simultaneously. Then we shared a look, laughing lightly.
"Okay, you got me there," I pointed at him, grinning widely. He pulled me into his chest, holding me tight.
"I love you so much, Uriel." Ryder whispered, his hot air fanning my hair.
"So you didn't hook up with any sweet girl when we were not talking?" I wiggled my eyebrow at him, playfully.
"Well, there was this girl..." Ryder trailed, his face serious.
I sat up, breaking out of his grip. "Oh really? What was she like?"
"Tall, beautiful, dark hair, dark blue eyes. Her smile lights up my world. She's literally like the light in my dark world," his eyes was dreamy as he spoke..
Feigning innocence, I folded my arms. "So did you fuck her?"
He smirked, "not yet. But now I'm completely healed from my surgery and can't wait to fuck her senseless,"
A pulsing ache throbbed between my legs, my body growing hot instantly from just his words.
"How are you sure she wants to fuck you too anyway. What if she has someone else she wants to fuck, huh?" I raised my eyebrow.
He sat up, inching closer. "Then why's her nipple hard?" He wrapped his hand around my neck, softly pulling me closer. He trailed his nose on the side of my face, whispering softly in my ear, "why is she staring at me lustfully,"
A shuddered breath escaped my lips.
"I don't know what you're talking about,"
"Mhm-hm?" He whispered, his hand swiftly slipping under my shirt, trailing against my bare skin, making me all hot. "Ah ah, no baby, don't clench them."
Ryder's other hand came down to my thigh, keeping them apart.
He pinched my nipples, a soft pant escaping my lips. "Bingo!"
"It doesn't prove anything,"
He chuckled, pulling his hands away.
"I'll make you admit it baby. Just watch," Ryder placed a soft kiss on my forehead. "My therapy session was scheduled on the last week of the summer break."
Ryder pulled his shirt off his head, his biceps stretching wide. My mouth became all wet, salivating. My eyes slowly dropped to his loosed sweatpants that hung lower than his waist line, showing off his perfectly defined deep V-line.
"All you have to do is admit you want me sexually too and it's all yours." Ryder rubbed his hand on his growing bulge.
My eyes quickly broke away from the trance. I began to fan myself with my hand, breathing heavily.
"Why's here hot? Can you feel it?"
Ryder chuckled, shaking his head. "It's just you and your horny ass,"
I was about to answer him when my phone pinged. Ryder was crouching down to pick it when I dived him, taking it from him immediately.
He raised his eyebrow at me, confused. "What is that? What are you hiding now?"
"Nothing!"
"Very convincing, Uriel," he spat, sarcasm dripping from his tone.
"It's seriously nothing."
"Then, let me see this nothing," he raised his eyebrow at me. "You've never pulled your phone that way,"
Shit
Letting out a shaky breath, I gave him my phone. He nodded at me to open it.
My heart began to thrash hard in my chest. Fuck, what do I do?
I didn't want him seeing what I had planned out for us.
It was a surprise for a reason.
"See? It's just my monthly period calendar reminder. My period is drawing close. Wow,"
Ryder stared at me, unimpressed at my acting. "I'll just go take my bath. We'll pick a few things before we leave."
I knew that tone so well. It was angry Ryder.
"Okay,"
If I were him, I'd be suspicious too.
I quickly stepped out to call Kathie, wanting to know situation report on our plan. After I was done talking to her, I went to join Ryder in the bathroom. He didn't speak much to me but he also didn't push me away from him.
The ride was quiet, the tension thick between us. I drummed my hands lightly on my knee. Ryder didn't even want the radio on, making it even worse. All I could hear was my heavy heartbeat.
"Is there something I should know, Uriel?" Ryder spoke up, his voice calm.
My head snapped to his direction. His eyes met mine. I shook my head.
"Nothing serious."
"Then why ... Why are you acting weird again?" He sighed heavily. He must be mentally drained from everything.
"I'm sorry Ry. It's just something I'm working on,"
He turned off his engine due to the traffic, just staring at me with a blank expression. I knew my explanation wasn't enough.
So I opened my phone to Chloe's chat where we discussed about having a get-together.
His eyes slowly moved, silently reading. His facial expression softened a bit. He opened his mouth to say something when my phone vibrated. I paused, not wanting to act suspicious by pulling it fast.
"Funny. You should check your inbox," Ryder said dryly.
Hurriedly, I looked into my phone. It was Kathie's message that dropped in.
~ Deriel really won't hold back when he sees you in this. Poor boy.
"So..." Ryder asked, his face stoic.
