Chapter 28 28

Chapter 28 28
Chapter 28: Addicted to His Wife

...

Time passed, and evening had already fallen. The golden sunset looked absolutely breathtaking from the island.

“Wait for me here, alright? I need to give a short briefing before we go back,” Matthias said, asking Luna to stay.

Luna nodded, watching her husband walk away with his subordinates.

Meanwhile, she sat inside the luxurious house Matthias owned on the island.

From afar, Luna noticed a beautiful shady tree at the edge—a tree covered in soft pink blossoms. Around it stretched green grass dotted with tiny white flowers.

Luna ran over and stood beneath the tree.

A gentle breeze brushed against her, and her eyes widened in awe at the scenery before her.

A vast, beautiful ocean… a wide green field painted with wildflowers… and at the center of it all, that pink-blossomed tree.

For some reason, Luna felt certain that the one who planted this tree must have been a woman. The place felt so soothing despite being on the edge of a cliff. Its beauty carried a soft femininity.

Luna loved it.

Whoever planted this tree must have loved sitting beneath it, enjoying this very view.

“It’s so beautiful… who would’ve thought today would become one of the best days of my life? After getting out of prison, I get to see something like this…”

“Hmmm…”

“Maybe meeting him… isn’t so bad after all? Even though he’s cruel and his words are sharp… somehow, he always gives me the best things…”

“Ah, I don’t want to think too much. I just want to enjoy this moment.”

Luna closed her eyes, letting the wind brush gently against her.

\---

At the same time, Matthias had just finished his briefing. He immediately returned to the house and noticed that Luna was no longer sitting where she had been.

“Hmmm?”

As he looked around, he saw that the glass door leading to the backyard was open.

He walked toward it—and from a distance, he saw his wife standing beneath the tree.

Her long hair swayed gently in the wind, making her look incredibly beautiful.

Matthias’ eyes widened.

He froze for a moment, a warmth filling his chest.

The golden sun looked magnificent—but the most beautiful sight of all was his wife standing beneath that tree.

“Luna?”

He called out to her.

At that moment, Luna turned around. Her eyes widened, and she ran lightly toward him.

Her smile—so beautiful—made his heart race.

Her hair flowed with her steps, wildflowers surrounding her like a dream.

And her expression, so light and genuine, touched Matthias deeper than anything else.

“THUMP… THUMP… THUMP!”

His heart pounded violently.

His face flushed as he pressed a hand against his chest, feeling it thunder.

“What is this…?”

“My heart won’t calm down… she’s so beautiful it’s driving me insane!”

His gaze remained fixed on her as she ran toward him.

Time seemed to slow down, and his mind captured every detail of her smile.

This was a sight he would never forget.

“Hmmm!”

Luna stopped right in front of him, her eyes wide as she spoke excitedly.

“The tree is so beautiful! And the little wildflowers in the grass are so cute! And the view of the ocean from there—wow… it’s so beautiful!”

“I’ve said ‘beautiful’ so many times, but it really is that beautiful—I don’t even have the words!”

Luna spoke with so much enthusiasm, as if Matthias didn’t already know how beautiful this place was.

Even though this was clearly his place.

“Hmmm? Sir?”

“Is something wrong?”

Luna tilted her head up, blinking. Matthias had been silent the entire time, frozen without responding.

“Huh…”

Matthias let out a heavy breath, lifting his face toward the orange sky.

Something was happening to him.

And it was dangerous.

After a few seconds of staring at the sky, he looked back at his wife. Without saying anything, he reached for her hand.

“Let’s go home.”

That was all he said.

A short sentence that hid something far bigger within his heart.

That strange feeling he feared—

was real.

He wasn’t supposed to feel this…

but his heart had other plans.

And that made Matthias deeply uneasy.

\---

Because of those overwhelming feelings, Matthias remained silent the entire time.

Soon, they were already inside the helicopter, and for the first time, Luna dared to open her eyes while in the air.

Her eyes widened, her mouth slightly open as she looked out the side of the helicopter, amazed by the view.

The sun left behind colors like a rainbow—dominated by shades of orange. White clouds stood like grand pillars supporting the setting sun.

It was truly extraordinary.

“I’ll never forget today,” Luna whispered, never expecting to witness something like this in her life.

Something she had never even imagined before.

Meanwhile, Matthias remained quiet.

His sharp blue eyes showed no hint of what he was thinking.

...

After some time…

“Ah, we’re finally home. I’m so sore.”

“I need to take a bath.”

Luna stretched her arms, still forgetting that she now had to sleep in her husband’s room.

Without realizing it, she started walking toward her old room.

But after a few steps—

Suddenly—
Matthias grabbed her waist and hoisted her up like a sack of rice.

“Ah—my waist…”

Luna complained, her body already sore these days because of her husband.

Quickly, Matthias shut the door and carried her to the bed, dropping her onto it, making her body bounce lightly.

“What’s wrong with you? Why so suddenly?”

Luna protested at his forceful actions.

But without any explanation, Matthias shrugged off his jacket and immediately climbed on top of her.

Both his hands cupped her face as he stared at her intently.

His breathing was heavy, his gaze sharp—like he was searching for something.

“S-Sir…”

Luna began to panic.

She knew exactly where this would lead—and she was already exhausted. She wouldn’t be able to handle it.

“Shh…”

“I just want to make sure of something…”

Matthias whispered, his thumb brushing over Luna’s lips.

And then—his lips slowly hovered lower…

stopping just inches from hers.

His breath grew heavier.

His gaze darkened.

“…This feeling…” he murmured.

“It’s getting harder to control.”
Luna’s breath hitched.

She didn’t know—

whether she should push him away…

or close the distance herself.
