Chapter 27
....
When the helicopter landed, several of his subordinates were already there to greet them. Luna finally felt relieved as they had reached solid ground.
She followed her husband as he walked forward while his subordinates bowed and began reporting.
“Sir, all the aid arrived yesterday, and the top chefs you assigned have already prepared lunch for today.”
“Please, follow me…” A supervisor, who had been specifically assigned by Matthias to handle everything, guided them toward the refugee area.
“Come on, stay close to me,” Matthias said, glancing back and slightly lowering his head so he could see Luna, who still didn’t fully understand where they were.
“Ummm…” Luna nodded, then held onto her husband’s jacket so she wouldn’t fall behind.
“Hah…”
Matthias chuckled softly. It was small actions like this that sometimes made him feel so fond of Luna that he wanted to devour her.
And Luna had no idea.
Matthias suddenly stopped walking, and Luna stopped as well. Then, without hesitation, he confidently reached out, took her hand, and held it firmly.
He didn’t say anything—just gave her a deep, teasing look that made Luna extremely nervous.
‘What was that just now? Why did he look at me like that? Why am I getting chills?’
‘Why does he look even more handsome in my eyes? Aaaah… this is dangerous! THIS IS DANGEROUS!’
Luna panicked inwardly as she continued walking beside her husband, who was busy talking to his subordinates.
Then—
“Look, isn’t that the owner of Grayson Company?”
“Oh my, he actually came here. He really doesn’t ignore people like us.”
“Yes, I heard the damage to the main pipeline was caused by the earthquake, but it’s incredible to see someone like him go this far for us…”
The people affected by the disaster had indeed been relocated to Matthias’s private island.
Their homes had been damaged due to the excavation carried out by the Grayson company, but Matthias hadn’t abandoned them. He made sure to take full responsibility.
There were many children there as well. Matthias had even provided teachers, doctors, proper meals, and decent housing for them.
Luna was quite surprised to see so many people—and even more surprised to see children playing around.
Previously, she had read news about the Grayson company causing serious damage, even destroying people’s homes. From that, Luna concluded that this place was an evacuation site.
“So he brought me to a refugee camp? Well… even though this place is pretty luxurious. This is more like an elite evacuation camp!”
“But…”
Luna lifted her gaze, looking at her husband’s tall figure standing firmly ahead of her, walking confidently while holding her hand tightly as if he had no intention of letting go.
“Why am I happy?”
“That means he’s truly responsible… he didn’t just abandon them…”
“Hmmm, turns out he’s not that bad after all.”
Luna found herself smiling unconsciously, even swinging the hand that was holding Matthias’s.
“Hmmm? What is it?”
Matthias stopped walking and turned back, thinking her action meant she wanted to tell him something.
Luna, who had been smiling brightly, immediately turned toward him and quickly wiped the smile off her face.
She shook her head quickly, her cheeks turning red as she pressed her lips together.
‘So cute. Why is she acting cute at a time like this?’
‘She’s clearly trying to tempt me! Just wait until we get home!’ Matthias grumbled inwardly.
Her round eyes and the way she pressed her lips together made her look incredibly adorable—like a little kitten.
“Ahem… Sir?”
The supervisor and the subordinates on the island had been shocked this whole time by how close their boss was with this woman.
Especially his gentle attitude and how easily he smiled when speaking to her.
It felt like they weren’t seeing their boss at all—but someone else entirely.
They didn’t recognize this woman either. As far as they knew, their boss’s partner was Valery—not this woman.
With that confusion, they began observing Luna closely, trying to figure out what relationship she had with their boss.
After all, Matthias and Luna’s marriage had not been publicly announced yet—and it seemed the Glare family was trying to keep it hidden, as the news would only bring shame to their name.
...
After a while,
Matthias was now standing in front of the buffet that had been prepared. Beside him stood his wife, and next to her were his subordinates.
All the refugees had lined up to receive their lunch.
As Matthias handed out food onto their trays, some of the refugees began to cry and thank him for taking care of them.
“Thank you, young man, for caring about us from this small village. Even though the accident wasn’t entirely your fault, you still took full responsibility. Thank you for not ignoring our suffering.”
An elderly woman cried as she thanked Matthias. He simply smiled and nodded.
“You’re welcome, Grandma. Once the village repairs are finished, you’ll be able to go home and live as before, so you don’t need to worry.”
Matthias spoke in a calming tone.
Luna heard all of it, her eyes unable to leave her husband.
For some reason, he looked incredibly cool… so dependable… so admirable.
‘For some reason, he’s like a big, shady tree… able to protect so many things at once. So cool…’
‘Has he always been this cool?’ Luna murmured inwardly, realizing she had never seen this side of her husband before.
And just like that, after they finished distributing the food, the two of them had lunch there as well.
Since earlier, Luna had been eating quietly and calmly, not as chatty as usual. Meanwhile, Matthias sat with his arms folded, watching his wife’s puffed cheeks moving as she chewed her food.
‘Haaah! Turns out he’s not that bad after all—so dominant and reliable. Hmm… why am I feeling happy? Hahaha!’ Luna continued praising her husband in her heart.
But all of that admiration shattered in an instant when—
“Ah…” Matthias let out a heavy sigh, his gaze drifting toward his wife’s chest, tightly covered.
“I’ve been wanting to squeeze them with my hands so badly… I want to kiss them and play with them all day.”
“After we finish eating, we’ll go straight home and do it. I want it so much right now.”
“Maybe because it was interrupted in the car earlier…” Matthias looked visibly disappointed, his eyes not leaving that spot.
Those shameless, perverted thoughts instantly destroyed all of Luna’s admiration.
“HAH!” Luna quickly drank some water and snapped in irritation. She clenched her hand and bit her lower lip.
‘Perverted husband! Give me back my admiration! All you think about is dirty things! How embarrassing…’
‘Ah, I’m annoyed again!’ Luna grumbled inwardly.
Of course, she didn’t dare say it out loud—otherwise, her husband might really devour her.
So instead, she just glared at him, her breathing uneven from his shameless behavior.
“Hmmm?” Matthias suddenly smiled mischievously and—
He stood up, leaned down, and his hand reached for Luna’s chin, lifting her face upward closer to his.
And then—
Matthias stuck out his tongue and licked the remaining food from Luna’s lips—but in a very naughty way.
Luna’s eyes widened. Time seemed to freeze, and his action was far too bold for her innocent mind to process.
Her lips, which had been slightly dry, now felt moist because of him.
After that, Matthias sat back down confidently, a satisfied smile on his face.
“There was food on your lips. You should thank me for helping you clean it.”
His words left Luna’s brain completely blank for a few seconds.
‘What just happened? This is completely different from before—he was clearly teasing me.’
‘Why did he suck on my lips like that? Aaaah… what’s wrong with me? Why does my heart feel like it’s going to explode?!’
Luna panicked internally, her face turning as red as a ripe tomato.
“Hahaha!” Matthias laughed when he saw her reaction. He licked his lips, clearly enjoying this kind of thing.
“Uh!” Hearing his laughter, Luna immediately lowered her head and leaned against the table, hiding her face in embarrassment.
At the same time, her heart was pounding uncontrollably. She felt both embarrassed and strangely flustered.

Meanwhile, elsewhere—
“Hmmm, Luna’s social media is active again!” Sean looked at his phone and saw that Luna’s account had become active once more.
“Luna… finally, I can contact you.”
“I’ve missed you so much. There are so many things I want to say.”
“Please give me a chance to explain everything… please.”
“I still love you very much. Please reply to my message…”
Sean sent Luna a message. Then, when he exited the chat, he noticed a name that had just followed Luna.
“Kevin? Why is he following my girlfriend? Could it be… Luna is with him?”
“I won’t allow it. I won’t let anyone have Luna. I’m sure I can win her back.”
Then—
his lips slowly curled into a smile.
A dangerous one.
“If you won’t come back to me… then I’ll come to you.”
He picked up his phone again.
And this time—
he wasn’t sending a message.
He was making a call.
“To prepare everything.”
“I’m going to see her… myself.”
Sean seemed to have forgotten—
Luna was no longer the same Luna as before.
He was far too confident, even though he was no longer the type of man Luna would choose now.
