Chapter 80 CHAPTER 80

Chapter 80 CHAPTER 80
ALINA

The merging of the Seven Isles, the Waterstone Pack, and Blackstone Pack had finally come together smoothly, though it hadn't been an easy process. Months of strategizing, deliberating, and forging alliances had brought Kai to this moment. It was the best three

months of my life. Having my mother and Kai beside me through all of this was something I didn't even know I deserved.

I was so happy for the first time in my life. It felt like I did not even deserve everything that has been going on. The packs were now unified, and as a result, they were stronger against their common enemy-the skin walkers. The witches, with me have strategized the way we are going to kill them.

My mother had been a good help. She had a lot of experience so she was helping all of us. She was a great teacher. Kai was glad that I had brought her back to life now, and so are the elders and lords. She had been great help. If she didn't come back, then we would have all been dead by now. The skin walkers were getting bolder and worse, and every day we are finding a way to keep them out of the pack.

But even with all of the help, my mother decided that we needed more witches. The skin walkers were more than we expected. There were thousands of them, far more than we are able to comprehend.

Kai had called a meeting, one that was long overdue, and the room was filled with tension. I stood next to him, my heart thumping against my chest as I watched him command the space. Across the room, Mellisa, the leader of the new coven of witches, sat facing my mother. Both powerful women, they were discussing the terms of the alliance between witches and werewolves.

I hadn't seen my mother this authoritative since she came back into my life. Her presence commanded respect in ways that even I couldn't quite understand. Mellisa, who had always been so staunch her fingers drumming on the arm of her chair as she studied my mother.

"Why should we help the wolves and Lycans?" Mellisa asked coolly. Her eyes flicked between Kai and my mother. "They've hunted us for centuries. We've suffered at their hands—how do you know they won't turn on us the moment this threat is over?"

I tensed, unsure of how my mother would respond. She hadn't told me much about her history, but I knew it wasn't easy.

My mother remained calm, her voice steady. "Because it's not just about the past," she replied, her gaze steady. "The wolves and witches share a common enemy. The skin walkers are our creation- witches are responsible for bringing them into existence. We owe it to the world to correct our mistake."

"Also," Thalia added. "We always thought this way. But we have lived with werewolves and now that we have lived with lycans, nothing drastic had happened. We have been living in unison. We need to fight together if we want to stay alive."

The room fell silent as Mellisa considered her words. She leaned back in her chair, her face showing no signs of what she was thinking. After a long pause, she finally nodded. "You're right," Mellisa

admitted. "We do share a common enemy. And our help is the the only one you need to kill the skin walkers."

A wave of relief swept over me. This was it. The witches were going to help us.

"Then we're in agreement," my mother said, her eyes meeting Mellisa's. "We'll join forces to fight the skin walkers."

Mellisa glanced around the room at the gathered witches, then back at my mother. "We will help the wolves and Lycans. But we want a seat at the table, a voice in all matters of governance. We won't be used and discarded."

Kai, who had been silent, nodded. "You have my word," he said firmly. "You'll be equal partners in this fight. We need each other."

With the terms agreed upon, the witches prepared to move into the pack. It was a strange sight, seeing them integrate into a society that had once despised them, but it was necessary. We were stronger together, and that was what mattered.

As the meeting concluded, I was about to leave when one of the witches approached me. She smiled, her eyes twinkling in a way that made me uneasy.

"Alina, how are you?" she asked, her voice smooth like silk.

I blinked, surprised that she had singled me out. “I'm... fine," I replied, unsure of where this was going.

Her smile widened, and she gave me a look that sent a shiver down my spine. "You've been blessed again."

"What?" I asked, confused. "What do you mean?"

The witch's gaze dropped to my stomach, and suddenly everything clicked. My heart skipped a beat as her words sank in. "You're pregnant," she said softly.

I was stunned. Pregnant? How could that be? I hadn't even considered the possibility. My mind raced, thinking back to the last few weeks. Everything had been so chaotic that I hadn't noticed any signs. But now that she said it, it made sense. The fatigue, the slight nausea... I had just brushed it off as stress.

"I... I need to go," I stammered, my heart pounding in my chest.

The witch's smile was knowing as she nodded and stepped aside, allowing me to leave. My legs felt like jelly as I made my way down the hall. Pregnant. I was pregnant. Again. The thought filled me with both joy and fear. I had lost my last baby, and the pain of that loss still haunted me. Could I handle this? Could I go through that again?

Without even thinking, I found myself at Lily's door. I knocked softly, and when she opened it, I just stood there, not knowing what to say.

"Alina?" she asked, her brow furrowed in concern. "What's going on? You look pale."

I stepped into her room, still in a daze. "I'm... pregnant," I whispered, the words feeling foreign on my tongue.

Lily's eyes widened in shock, and then a huge grin spread across her face. "Alina! That's amazing! Oh my god, does Kai know yet?"

I shook my head, still trying to wrap my head around it. "No. I haven't told him. I don't even know how to tell him. What if... what if something goes wrong again?"

Lily's expression softened, and she wrapped me in a comforting hug. "Nothing's going to go wrong, Alina. You've been through so much, but this time, everything is going to be okay. You're strong, and Kai will be thrilled."

"I hope so," I muttered, resting my head on her shoulder.

"You have to tell him," she urged, pulling back slightly to look me in the eyes. "He deserves to know."

My heart was beating more because I didn't know what his reaction was going to be. After my pregnancy, I do not want to raise his hope or mine that we are actually going to have a baby. I was scared.

But I have been blessed. I should be happy about that. I was going to have a baby. I should be happy. I shouldn't let all of these bad thoughts to be creeping in and making me sadder. I should celebrate this. I deserved it, I told myself. After my hard life, I deserve all of this.

"I know," I said, my heart fluttering at the thought of his reaction." But I want to do it in a special way. He deserves that, at least."

Lily's smile turned mischievous. "A surprise, huh? What are you thinking?"

I sighed, my mind racing with possibilities. "I'm not sure yet, but I want it to be perfect. Kai's been through a lot, and I want to make this moment something he'll never forget."

Lily nodded, clearly excited. "I can help you plan it. Whatever you need, just let me know."

I smiled, grateful for her support. "Thank you, Lily. I don't know what I'd do without you."

She squeezed my hand. "You're going to be an amazing mother, Alina. I'm so happy for you."

As I left her room, my mind was spinning with ideas. A surprise for Kai. It had to be perfect, something that would show him how much I loved him, how much I wanted this for us. Despite all the chaos around us, this was something beautiful—a new life, a new beginning.

And as I thought about the future, for the first time in a long time, I felt truly hopeful.
