Chapter 24

Chapter 24

Liam POV

From Jason kicking me out of the dorm room to seeing Ryan getting arrested by the campus police. Everything had happened so fast.

I was sitting in the library reading. The past few days had been crazy. To think I was once a quiet student who kept to himself. Now, I was in the middle of a mess.
The news of the whole fiasco with me,  Ryan and Brandon had spread like wildfire. Everyone had heard about it.

Everywhere I went people stared at me strangely. They were whispering about me also. Some called me names like the school's w-hore and some called me a b-itch. I didn't understand what was wrong. I didn't deserve to be treated badly.

Why were people bullying me?

I knew most of them were jealous because the two most wanted boys were fighting over me.

The school’s golden boy, Brandon and the school playboy, Ryan. I could feel the glares of girls who hated me. They were glaring at me like they wanted to kill me.

Some were calling me names.

Others were saying horrible things about me.

"Liam is a nobody. How the hell did he manage to snatch up both of the hottest guys on campus.” I heard one student say.

She was literally sitting opposite me in the library. She didn’t care that I could hear her.

"I know. I can't believe it either. he must have seduced them and thrown himself at them." Her friend said.

"He's a s-lut and a man whore." The student added.

"But, Ryan is my favorite. He's so hot and bad, I heard he got arrested yesterday." The third girl in their midst said.

"Yes, he did. He looked so hot as the police dragged him away, I saw everything from my dorm.” The second replied.

"How did he even snag them both. Ryan ,the hottest guy with his tattoos and Brandon the cutest guy with his perfect white teeth. Both of them. Damn, he's a lucky boy I give him that. How did he manage to pull it off?" The first student asked.

"That's the mystery of it all. No one knows how he did it. Maybe he's a witch or something. I swear, no normal person could have done that and worst of all he looks so quiet and doesn't speak at all always so shy about mingling with others." The second girl said.

The third girl looked at me and whispered.

"Oh my God, he can hear you."

I looked up from the book I was reading.

"So, what if he hears us. Let her. Let him know how people see him. He thinks he's so smart and pretty. But, he's nothing. Just a plain ugly btch that we all thought was a saint." The first girl said.

The words of the students had hurt. I couldn't focus anymore. I was getting frustrated and annoyed.

"I can't believe I got myself into this mess." I murmured.

"It's a mistake. A mistake."

I gathered my books and decided to leave. There was no point sitting there any longer.

"Hey. Where are you going? The fun is just beginning." One of the girls said and stood to her feet.

I tried to ignore her and walk faster but she caught up to me. She grabbed me by the arm and spun me around.

"What spell did you use on Ryan? Do you know how badly I wanted him.” She said. Her fingers were digging into my arm.

"Why is he obsessed with you. Huh? Why does Brandon like you too? You must be using some sort of black magic. That's the only explanation. Or are you a s-lut?"

She was squeezing my arm. I groaned in pain.

"Oww. Let go of me. That hurts."

She didn't.

"You don't deserve to have guys fighting for you. You’re not even that  handsome. You’re not prettier than me. I’m more sexy than you are.” She said.

She grabbed a cup of coffee from the library desk next to her and threw it on me.

"Ahhhh. You're crazy." I shrieked.

The hot coffee was seeping through my clothes and burning my skin.

"Get away from me." I screamed. I looked around. Everyone was watching but no one did anything. They didn’t seem to care that the girl was hurting me.

They all just stood there taking pictures and videos. They were uploading it to the university's social media page.

"That's what you get for stealing guys from others." She said.

The girl was about to throw a book at me when someone held her hand.

"Hey, what do you think you're doing?" Jason said.

Jason had come just in time. He pulled the girl back and shoved her.

"Don't touch him." He yelled.

Jason was holding a book. He swung it and hit the girl on the head.

"You fcking btch." He yelled and slapped her with the book.

"Get away from Liam or, I will break every single bone in your body and everyone would say I'm beating up a woman."

The girl was shocked. She was hurt from the slap and her forehead was bruised. The book had hit her and the skin was red and swollen. The girl began to cry and held her forehead. Her friends had seen everything and were rushing towards her.

They all left in a hurry. I was surprised. No. I was shocked. My jaw hung open at Jason's action

Did he just defend me, in front of everyone? My eyes blinked.

I thought he hated me for dating his brother and wanted nothing to do with me.

I stared at him in awe.

“Are you okay?” Jason asked. He turned towards me. His voice had changed and softened.

He touched my arm.

"It doesn't look like anything serious. Did she burn you? You didn't get scalded, did you?" he asked. His voice was filled with concern.

"No. I don't think so. My skin feels a bit tender and sensitive but, I think it's okay. Thank you." I said.

“Why did you help me?” I asked.

“I thought you hated me. You said you didn’t want to talk to me again and you hated me for dating your brother Ryan. You kicked me out of the dorm, with nowhere for me to go.” I asked.

I moved closer and tried to hold his hand.

“Does this mean, you’ve forgiven me. Does it mean that I can come back to the dorm. I’ve been sleeping on the school park’s bench.” I asked. My eyes watering.

Jason sighed and rubbed his orehead.

“No.” he replied with a stern face.

“This doesn’t mean anything. I’ve not forgiven you. Unlike you, I care about the people I love and I don’t like to see them hurt. I sincerely loved you , I trusted you but you broke it. Me defending you is not me forgiving you. I will never forgive you, Liam” He said.

“Never. You betrayed my trust and that’s something I can’t forget. And, this doesn't change anything. You can stay on the bench for all I care. I don’t want you anywhere near the dorm. Do you understand?”

Jason didn’t even give me the chance to speak and he walked off. Leaving me alone and more confused than ever.
