Chapter 49– Czar
Chapter 49– Czar
An eye roll had followed. “If you think that surprises me then I might need to reintroduce myself. My name is El and a lot of people want me dead. I have quite the reputation.” Her smile had been slow, knowing. “But are you sure that is all you want with me? I see the way you look my way, Czar. Your exterior might be hard as a rock but your eyes don't lie.”
“No, they don't. I stare at everything with long hair and tits. What, you thought you were special?"
The next thing she had done was push herself up against me just to see how much I would let her get away with. Apparently, the answer to that question was "a lot.” Because until her lips were a fraction of an inch away from mine– breasts rubbing against my chest, whispers leaving her lips like a prophecy– I didn't stop her. I just wouldn't.
“Be honest with yourself... You want me.”
My reply had been a long, in-drawn breath. “I don't know what I'd do with you.”
But she had chuckled like she couldn't believe I was making such a statement. “I could give you a few ideas,” she had said, running her index finger from the tip of my jaw down my chest, not stopping until her hand was hovering over my crotch. "Oh, here's one.”
It was then that I flipped her to her back, body sandwiching hers with the wall, lips behind her ear. In seconds, the problem changed form. It was no longer the supple pair of breasts in my face but the soft ass nestling my organ with this new position; the conflict between desire and malice. "I don't fuck with snitches, pretty or no.”
She had scoffed to show she didn't care what I thought. “That’s what you think I did? Mere immature tattling? Czar, a mission brief to the bosses is normal procedure just in case you didn't know… made more important because some people think they're above the rules around here."
Translation: me. I was the one who felt regulations didn't apply to me. And yet she had no idea that before their deaths, members of parliament as they were, my own parents made laws, never thought it applied to them... and then they gave birth to me.
Cheeks still pressing the cold wall she had continued, “even Midnight saw you let the loose end go earlier today but kept mum, refused to report–”
“Are you jealous?”
"What?”
"Obviously, something about the smooth working relationship I have with her seems to be bothering you," I had returned viciously. “You know, if attention was what you needed, all you had to do was beg properly." I pressed even closer to her, applying more pressure in a way that didn't need interpretation; an invitation that mandated a corresponding response… one I got in the sharp breath that all but tore itself out of her throat just before she began to speak again.
“You don't like tattle-tales? Well I don't dig generationally-wealthy orphan reject snobs who have no appreciation for the value of hard work or diligence, whose portfolio is nothing but past glory,” she finally said, a tirade made between huffs. "Bring that thing close to me again and I will cut it off.”
To annoy and frustrate her, I had ground against her so she realised that said ‘thing’ was encroaching her personal space yet forget doing anything about it, her backside seemed to be rubbing the slightest against it, inadvertently, slowly as she bit her bottom lip and spread her legs wider.
"No, you don't get to decide what to do with those hands,” I had assured her. "If you're up for it, I plan to put them to good use gripping your knees while I shattered that queen-sized pride, obvious hypocrisy and dick-hungry pussy. But this will be your last warning, Rosiel. Next time you report me to the bosses, I will pay you a personal visit."
The look that had come on her features showed that she was looking forward to that private rendezvous. But before she could say anything in reply, the main door to the Interrogation Room had opened and a head had peeked out. It belonged to one of the institute’s non-elite guards and only seconds after his interruption, his eyes had moved from the embarrassed colour on Rosiel’s cheeks to my stony gaze.
"Is there a problem?” He had asked.
"I don't know, does it look like there is one?” I had returned.
"No, not really.” A long look had followed just before he motioned for the room. "Please take your time. It's not like the board members have been waiting for you for the last twenty minutes.”
“Is that an issue?”
If my retort affected him in any way, he did not show it. But then I wasn't even paying attention, if not I would have predicted Rosiel kicking me in the knees, forcing my body back before slipping away, her expressionless stare on me like a tag. "Not a problem at all,” she had responded, "because Czar will see them now.”
"If that is the case then right this way, Operative."
