Chapter 565
Chapter 565
"What's the point of just liking someone?"
Arthur was already lost in his own obsession, saying darkly, "She's desperate to escape from me, but she'd better think about the consequences. As long as I don't agree, no one can take Molly away from me."
"Even if it means destroying Molly's reputation completely, so that in the end she has no choice but to come crying back to me, I don't care!"
Kimber bit her lip. She finally stopped trying to persuade Arthur, who had clearly lost his mind.
She said quietly, "I'll figure something out."
Kimber had to find another way.
Since she couldn't reach the Wright family, she'd make them come to her.
She thought about how Arthur said he didn't care if Molly got criticized, which gave her the idea of using internet trolls.
If she could ruin Molly's reputation, then either Molly or the Wright family would have to come to her.
Soon, among the original well-wishes online, many questioning voices appeared.
These people smeared Molly and Lucas online.
They said Molly was two-timing, having unclear relationships with more than one man, which led to the wedding disruption scene.
They also said Lucas had a terrible track record.
They fabricated many rumors about the Wright family's unfair competition.
Soon, they had painted both of them in a negative light.
This naturally fell within Harper's monitoring range.
She only needed one glance to know that someone was pulling strings behind the scenes, using tactics to smear Molly and Lucas.
Harper let out a disdainful cold laugh, "These tactics are way too amateur."
It took her less than an hour to find evidence of Kimber contacting internet trolls behind the scenes. She posted screenshots of the trolls' chat records directly online.
Later, internet users dug up Kimber's identity - she was Arthur's sister.
Combined with Arthur's previous marriage to Molly.
It immediately sparked speculation.
[I'm dying laughing. So all this dirt was done by the bitter ex behind the scenes. Does Arthur dare to act like a man, or can he only play dirty tricks in the shadows?]
[Looks like he's really triggered.]
[Looking at it this way, it makes the Wright family seem like the only normal people. The Roberts family blocked Gerald at the wedding, the Davis family siblings teamed up to slander Molly, only the Wright family hasn't done anything messed up.]
The result was that after all of Kimber's efforts, not only did she fail to smear Molly and Lucas, but she actually helped them gain fans.
People praised them as the only normal ones.
Harper saw that the online storm had died down again and stopped paying attention. She casually mentioned to Caden, "Don't you think Kimber's performance this time was too amateur?"
"What do you mean?" Caden had a guess.
Harper thought for a moment and didn't directly state her suspicion. She just analyzed, "Although Kimber doesn't have the upper hand in competing with Arthur, she's not stupid - she's just at a disadvantage in terms of status."
"But this whole incident, the series of operations was so stupid it's shocking."
It didn't seem like something Kimber would do at all.
Harper also recalled what Kimber had said before.
Could she really be deliberately staying by Arthur's side, secretly helping their side?
But everything was just speculation. Harper wouldn't show Kimber any mercy because of personal feelings.
Even if Kimber was really helping in secret.
Her own counterattacks would be the best cover for Kimber.
After thinking this through, Harper stopped worrying about Kimber's true intentions and continued her daily idle state.
Under the combined demands of Caden and Kenneth, Harper couldn't work and could only focus on her pregnancy.
The follow-up matters outside were all handled by Caden and Nick.
She just went back and forth between the hospital and home. The wedding that could have helped pass the time was already over.
Harper felt even more bored.
With nothing to do, she went to visit Kenneth, who was studying medicine.
But before Harper could speak, Kenneth cut her off, "Wait, if you're here to chat, forget it. I'm busy every day and don't have time to keep you company and lift your spirits."
Harper was silent for a moment.
She shook her head helplessly, "I haven't said anything yet."
"I know what you want to say without you saying it. You're just bored with nothing to do, so you came to disturb my work. Nice try."
He waved his hand, indicating he had no time.
Seeing Harper look a bit disappointed, he casually asked, "Dennis has recovered from his illness and has nothing to do lately. If you're bored, go find him."
"Never mind." Harper refused without thinking.
Caden was busy outside while she went to find Dennis instead - not only would Harper herself feel guilty, but Caden would probably be furious.
Before leaving, Harper suddenly thought of something. She stopped and asked Kenneth, "Can you treat mental illnesses?"
"Not really." Kenneth admitted directly, "Everyone has their specialty. I'm not good at that. If you think your mental state isn't healthy, I can only recommend a couple of reliable doctors."
"It's not for me, it's for Alvina. You should have heard of her."
Kenneth nodded, "You mean your crazy mom."
Harper was silent for a moment.
Not exactly wrong though.
But seeing that Kenneth couldn't treat it himself, she didn't ask further and instead started worrying about Declan and Alvina's situation.
Ever since Declan strongly insisted on handling this matter himself, Harper hadn't paid much attention.
Now that there had been no news for so long, she didn't know what had happened.
Not long after she left, she saw Caden again. After asking him about this matter, he said, "I do have some latest news, but it's not going well."
"Declan later found the nursing home where Dominic was keeping Alvina imprisoned on his own. He successfully met with Alvina, but accidentally ran into Dominic."
"The two of them got into a fight. After all, Declan was in the wrong. I came to see you today to tell you that I went to see Declan this morning to help bail him out."
After hearing this, Harper had another headache.
How could these two be more unreliable than each other?
She asked Caden, "What are Declan's plans next? Can we find out more information about Alvina and Dominic?"
"Don't worry about this. Leave it to me. I've already contacted Sirius." Caden, worried that Harper was concerned, told her all the arrangements, "I'll have him try to meet with Alvina. This shouldn't be difficult, since he's also Dominic's son in name."
"As for the rest, we can only know what to do next after Alvina and Sirius meet."
After all, they needed to know how Alvina would react when she saw Sirius.
At this moment, Sirius was already on his way to the nursing home. He knew exactly what he had to do and who he needed to see.
From the moment Caden had found him.
Sirius knew it was time for him to play his role.
And indeed, using his nominal relationship with Dominic, he quickly managed to meet with Alvina.
