Chapter 235 Mr. Obelon Climbs Through the Window into His Wife's Room at Night
After hearing these threatening words, Candice's face turned extremely dark.
She could brush off Xander threatening her!
But when it involved her family, that was something she couldn't tolerate!
"Xander, just try laying a finger on my brother!"
Her eyes seemed frozen with ice, as if she would fight him to the death if Xander really dared to do that.
This was exactly what Xander wanted to see.
He immediately smiled, "Looks like you do care about your brother quite a bit. In that case, just get the job done for me."
After saying this, he went to get backup documents and handed them to Candice, adding, "Tomorrow morning, I'll be waiting for your good news! If I don't get what I want, then don't blame me for not being nice! I'm all prepared."
With that, Xander left.
Candice watched his retreating figure, her eyes frighteningly cold.
That evening, after picking up the kids, Candice didn't mention this matter.
It wasn't until the children had all gone to take their baths that she handed Xander's documents to Ulysses.
When Ulysses took them, he curiously asked, "What's this?"
Candice told him honestly, "Xander came to see me today. He said he wants these three projects."
Ulysses narrowed his eyes, smiling meaningfully, "What? And if we don't give them to him? What's he planning to do?"
"He said he's prepared trending news articles that would ruin my reputation."
Candice relayed Xander's meaning with disgust in her tone.
A flash of shocking coldness burst from Ulysses's eyes. He snorted coldly without expression, "Xander's got some nerve, threatening me? Who does he think he is!"
What angered him wasn't that Xander was asking for so much money.
It was that he dared to threaten Candice with that incident from before.
Ulysses raised his hand and tore up those contracts!
Kenna, listening nearby, also frowned and said, "No wonder they've been quiet all day, turns out they were waiting for this moment?"
She knew Ulysses wasn't afraid of Xander, but still reminded him, "We should still be careful about this. While we can control the mainstream media, we can't monitor all the personal media accounts."
"The internet spreads things so fast these days, and there's been too much talk about you and Candice lately. I'm worried we won't be able to suppress it."
Ulysses laughed coldly, saying, "They like using other people's reputations as ammunition? Then let them get a taste of their own medicine."
Ulysses smiled with a hint of wickedness and instructed Kenna, "Those partnerships with Vesper, breaking the contracts should be pretty messy, right? Go stir things up!"
Kenna immediately caught on, saying with a smile, "Got it, I know what to do!"
Soon, she left.
"Ulysses, will this cause trouble for you?"
Candice didn't understand the entertainment industry and couldn't help looking worried.
Seeing her concern, Ulysses immediately reassured her, saying, "It's fine, leave it to me. I'll play with him. You just focus on your work and do your job well. Don't worry about anything else!"
Seeing Ulysses's gentle and trustworthy eyes, Candice's heart gradually settled.
Ulysses was a big shot in the entertainment industry and understood online public opinion much better than she did. She should trust him.
So she nodded and said, "Okay, thank you!"
"No need to be so polite!"
Ulysses smiled and ruffled her hair.
After handing this matter over to Ulysses, Candice went upstairs to wash up.
Coming out of the bathroom, she went to tell the two little ones their bedtime story. After they fell asleep, she returned to her own room.
Before entering, she happened to hear some strange sounds from the balcony and found it odd.
Did Orla forget to close the balcony door today?
Candice walked towards the balcony. As soon as she got close, she was startled by a figure that suddenly appeared.
Candice screamed on the spot, but the person quickly covered her mouth.
"Don't make a sound!"
Candice looked at the person in front of her, her eyes still full of disbelief.
"Brandon! What are you doing here so late at night?"
He didn't give her any warning that he nearly scared her to death!
Brandon looked at her frightened expression, a smile playing at his lips, saying, "I originally wanted to see the kids, but I came back late, and they should be asleep, so I just came to see you instead."
Candice fell silent.
After being speechless for a moment, she couldn't help complaining, "This is the second floor! How did you get up here?"
She could probably guess how he came, and couldn't help muttering, "What's wrong with you, climbing through my window in the middle of the night? And aren't there bodyguards downstairs at my place?"
Brandon replied nonchalantly, "Among your bodyguards, only Holden is pretty good. Knox can handle him."
Candice said, "Should I praise you for being so amazing?"
Climbing through her window and acting so righteous about it!
Brandon generously replied, "That's not necessary!"
Candice was really defeated by his shamelessness and directly tried to send him away, "If there's nothing else, hurry back. Otherwise, if my brother finds out, you'll get another beating."
Brandon nodded, saying, "I'll leave soon. But even if he finds out, it doesn't matter. Worst case, I'll just take another beating! We'll be in contact in the future anyway."
Candice looked at him with confusion, "Why would you need to be in contact with my brother?"
Brandon looked down at her, his eyes holding an ambiguous meaning, "What do you think?"
Candice paused, seeming to think of something, her gaze involuntarily dodging.
Brandon didn't end the topic there.
He stepped forward and told her seriously, "When I said before that I wanted you to come back to me, I wasn't just talking! Candice, even if you insist on leaving, I'll find a way to keep you in Seaside City!"
What nonsense was he spouting!
Candice was slightly stunned, then immediately put on a stern face, saying, "Stop talking to yourself. Who said I'm staying?"
Brandon didn't argue with her, "You don't want to stay now, but I'll make you want to!"
As his words fell, he pinned her against the wall and lowered his head to kiss her.
Candice had been ambushed too many times and managed to dodge this time, being more prepared.
"Don't think you can take advantage of me again!"
Dropping these words, she hurried into the room.
As she entered, she tried to close the glass door.
She thought of how they had almost lost control last night.
His scent was too dangerous for her, she had to get away quickly!
But Brandon didn't give her the chance.
He caught up in two steps, grabbed her hand, pressed it against the door, and wouldn't let her close it!
Candice warned him with slight annoyance, "Brandon, don't mess around, or I'll call someone!"
Brandon looked completely unconcerned, saying, "Go ahead and call. When you do, your brother can come see us, a man and woman alone together late at night!"
They clearly hadn't done anything, but the way he said it made it sound like they already had!
Candice scolded him bashfully, "Can you stop being so shameless!"
Brandon curved his lips, telling her righteously, "If I'm too concerned about my pride, I won't achieve what I want."
Almost the instant his words fell, he pushed open the door that wasn't closed in front of him.
With the disparity in their strength, Candice couldn't stand steady from the push and stumbled on the spot.
Brandon took the opportunity to pull her into his arms and pressed her against the glass window, doing what he hadn't finished earlier.
A scorching hot kiss landed on Candice's lips - no testing, no gentleness, a forceful kiss that almost swept away Candice's reason.
When she came to her senses, she had already lost her strength and gone limp in Brandon's arms.
She felt him leaving scattered kisses on her ear, and he said, "Candice, you can only be mine! Do you understand?"
Candice panted, thinking to herself, 'I don't understand!'
Back then, you said you'd marry anyone, divorced so decisively, now what gave you the right to be so domineering!
But she didn't dare say this out loud. Right now, he had her trapped, and she was afraid that if she said it, he'd torment her again.
Seeing her silence, Brandon didn't rush to force her to respond.
"Sleep well, good night."
He placed a gentle kiss on Candice's forehead, saying, "I'm leaving."
Then he turned and left.
Of course, he left the same way he came.
