Westley drove her to an hotel and h**d a room close to hers since she wouldn't let them share a bed.
Sylvie couldn't sleep. Each time she closed her eyes, images of Paul being killed filled her head. He was brutally stabbed How could anyone do that to him? Paul was a very kind man, he didn't deserve that.
She was frightened. Something deeper than she had thought was going on in the One Trillion Group.

For three days, Sylvie was at the hotel. She didn't report to work, and Kage didn't mind, considering she needed enough time to get over the incidence. He was only considerate of the babies. But he was losing his mind over her not coming back to the house. She wouldn't even let him visit in her lodge, claiming she wanted to be alone. He understood that someone who wasn't used to seeing much blood could react Thad way, but she could chose to stay alone at home! The house was big enough, and if she wanted, they wouldn't even see each other for a whole week On the third day, however, Sylvie was forced to leave the house, Kage's mother had called her over, claiming she left some important documents behind and she was going to trash it if Sylvie didn't come to get it as soon as possible. Sylvie didn't know what documents she was talking about, but she couldn't risk losing it and had to go. Although, Westley was at work, she texted him her plans and location.
When she reached the house, she found other members of the family present - some aunts, uncles. They were at the dining eating and laughing
Those were the big members of the Hawkins family, and people Sylvie had always held in high esteem.
"Sylvie! What s pleasant surprise to see you," One of the uncles said as she stood in the living room.
She went closer. "Hi... everyone.
They were too many, she didn't know which of them to greet.

"Why don't you eat with us, dear? There are extra plates."
"She can't. She isn't a member of this family, Damien!" Phoebe protested.
"Phoebe, come on. She use to be your daughter in-law. Let her eat with us. Besides I'm sure she's hungry."
Sylvie was indeed hungry. Plus, the various dishes on the table was driving her insane. She'd been salivating since she walked through the door.
"Thank you," she sailed, taking a seat next to Uncle Damien.
When she was married to Kage, she didn't really have a relationship with them. They hardly ever saw, and the few times they did, they didn't make Sylvie think they hated her.

another was a governor, and then others held high positions in the country. The Hawkins were extremely influential. Sylvie felt glad sitting in the midst of such important people. It was even better that they liked her, unlike Kage's mother who had always been a pain in the a** The family had so much fun on the table, with them bringing up so many conversations and fun jokes. Sylvie laughed at some point, and from time to time, they said things that concerned Sylvie and also made her laugh. "So, how has life been with you, Sylvie?" Griffin asked, dabbing the corners of his mouth with a napkin. "I mean, since you divorced Kage, have you been well?"
"To her honest, I was disappointed when I heard you two split up, Elizabeth - who owned a huge pharmaceutical company- said. "I know it was contracted and all, but silly me had been hoping somehow, you two will get pass it." "Right!!" Another laughed. "I thought somehow, they'd just fall in love and disagree with the divorce-like we see in the movies"
Sylvie shifted uncomfortably in her seat. She wished the conversion would change, but she's never been so lucky.
"But really, I want to know how you've been. Have you been fine without Kage? Griffin asked, his face seeming more serious
HOY
"Or course, Sylvie chuckled. "Kage and I got married based on a contract. I wasn't expecting anything else.
"Are you sure? You've never... wished you two could get back together?"
Sylvie was torn between forcing a smile and pulling a frown. She really didn't like the conversation.
"Isn't that the reason you became pregnant for him? Just so you could tie him down with the kid?" Griffin asked.
Sylvie's world came blurring at its axis. What the hell? She looked up at him, confusion glaring at her.
"You figured he'd be interested if you were pregnant for him. You thought it should be enough to ruin his relationship with

For a moment, Sylvie thought she was in a movie. Because what in God's name was going on?
Elizabeth dropped her cutleries, wearing a deceptive smile. 'Oh, darling; you thought we wouldn't know, right? You thought you are going to get away with ruining our son's life?"
Sylvie looked at Phoebe, and her heart broke apart when she found a smug smile on the woman's face. Was this...
"You didn't think I'd have sat here and watch you eat with all of us, do you?" Her smile widened. "And you didn't think I really had those trashy files to give to you? If I actually found anything of yours, trust me, I'd have burnt it myself." Sylvie was confused. Was this all a plan? They lured her here to do what exactly?
"First, your family found some tricky way to involve you in Hawkins will. It's all thanks to us that your father's company didn't go bankrupt with him being arrested. But you're never satisfied, are you? You still want more, you had to pin a fake pregnancy on Kage? One of the women scoffed. "Just who do you think you are, Sylvie? You so badly want to be affiliated. with the Hawkins Dynasty so bad? Tell us, who's the real father of that child?" Sylvie's head was spinning. She shifted in her seat. "I... I think there must be some kind of a misunderstanding. Kage is the father, and L."
"Oh, spare me!" Another thumped the table so hard, Sylvie flinched. "You keep eating off of him like you're the reason he earns his money! Haven't you done enough? Or, hold on, do you think we aren't aware that you've been working from his company? You whore! You had him partner with your company, and as if that wasn't enough, you had him get your father into the One Trillion Croup, when we d**n well know he isn't qualified! How dare you!" He hit the talle again, down of the glasses rattling. 15:00 Wed, Oct 9 Bu 145%2 Chapter 45
Sylvie was in shock, agony, Tears glistened in her eyes, but it wasn't hurt from their words but from the fact that the deceived her. Just minutes ago, these faces had been smiling at her. They'd cracked jokes and made her laugh. She couldn't believe everything had been fake. They must have mocked her each time she laughed.
