Lana's lips curled in a smirk. "Very well, Sylvie. Let's play the game, shall we?"
She yanked her wrist from Sylvie's, then stormed out of the restroom.
.....
Sylvie finally had something to eat by four. It wasn't just because Kage wouldn't let her go out for lunch, but because she didn't really have an appetite.
At the close of work, Westley came over to pick her. She had to meet up with him outside the gate since Kage had given strict orders to stop bringing him into the building
She didn't get to see Kage the rest of the time in the office, the few times she had to communicate with him had been done with the telephone.
She couldn't think of going home to him either, so when Westley suggested taking her to his place, she didn't object.
Westley already asked his chef to prepare enough meals. Syivie ate to her fill then slept off.
She woke up at eleven. She was alarmed, unable to believe she had slept for that long. What was she thinking?
Checking her phone, she found numerous missed calls from Kage. Great. Now, there was more drama on the
Westley came into the room, holding a cup of tea.
"Oh, you're awake," he smiled. Thought to bring this to you so you could have some of it when you wake up. It can you know, relax you a bit."
Sylvie stood up, brushing her fingers into her hair. "I overslept. You should've woken me, Wes."
"Why? It's not like you're paying for the room and your clock is ticking."
He set the tea down. Sylvie's phone started ringing again. She rolled her eyes and sighed, seeing it was Kage. Goodness, he must've given her fifty calls already.
"...I have to go," she picked her purse.
Westley held her hand, bringing her to a stop. "What're you doing?" He chuckled. "You really need to take a deep breath, Sylvie, you not a child. Are you forgetting we're engaged? Kage doesn't have any right to be controlling" "No, he's not the reason I'm trying to leave. I'm just..." she sighed. Okay, why else would she want to leave her fiance's house so late at night?
Westley put a hand around her waist, pulling her in to himself.
He ran a hand down her hair. "Just calm down, okay? You need to stop living your life like it belongs to Kage."
Sylvie took a deep breath, wanting to hold onto his words. He had a warm smile on his face, one that was soothing.
Seconds passed with her just being in his arms. Then, he came close, leaning down until his lips could touch hers. He claimed them
What're you doing!? an inner voice screamed at her. Pull away, Syivie! Go away!!
She gasped and broke the contact, stepping out of his hold. She touched her lips which was wet from the kiss. Oh, God.
Westley seemed hungry, and it wasn't the kind of hunger that needed human food. He reached for her again, putting his 278

hand around her waist, pulling her to himself. He claimed her lips once again, kissing her desperately.
Sylvie struggled between accepting it and pulling away from the kiss. She should pull away.

The sound of her phone ringing finally snapped some sense into her, She broke the kiss and this time around, turned away from him.
No, she couldn't do this. Not while she was pregnant with another man's child. It just didn't feel right.
"Syivie...

She picked up her phone. It was Kage yet again. This time, she answered the call. Maybe, she could just tell him she was at a friend's place. Or her dad's. "Hey, she hoped her voice didn't come out shaky. "I'm...
Tm outside Westley's apartment. Come out, he cut her off, his voice sounding like it could cut through stones.
She flinched, her eyes flying to the window. No way, what was he talking about?
I don't... I don't think I understand. I was just...
"Come out, Syivie," his tone was harder now.
