Chapter 26
Westley had left with the promise of alerting some of his police friends to keep an eye on her apartment, just in case someone suspicious would come around.
He took Sylvie shopping to get new clothes, shoes, bags and other belongings she could be using at Stephanie's place.
When she got to Fluxpoint the next day, she met Lana in the elevator. She roper her eyes before joining in wme taking a spot
With how often you frequent this place, one might think you're slightly jobless, you know?" She muttered, clicking on enr floor number.
They were the only ones in the elevator.
Lana chuckled. "You're right. Except now, I'm no longer a mee guest. I now work here."
Sylvie glanced back at her, surprise evident in her face. Lana smiled at the curiosity she saw,
"Well, Kage invested in my company, and I suggested I owners from here to speed up the process. It was quite ways,
considering the fact that he's my fiance."
Sylvie scoffed, looking away. "Are you that insecure? You had to convince him to do all of this just because you so
u so you could be as close as am? Well, guess what, Lana? I didn't even want the attention."
Lana glared at her from behind. She was tempted to hit her on the head, or better, on the belly.
She's never hardd someone this much. She never when thought it was possible to hate someone this much, until she met Sylvie.
She was glad she'd gotten her bkrrnon jer doorstep and had taken it to consideration. She would truly hurt her if she doesn't terminate the pregnancy. In the meantime, she was going to make sure she put enough distance between she and Kage. They departed when they reached their various floors. When Sylvie got to her office, Atty came in not long after.
"Ma'am, Mr. Hawkins wants you in his office e he asked me to tell you as soon as you arrive.
God wasn't it too early for his drama?
"Thank you, Atty 1, She smiled,
The lady bobbed and left.
Some minutes later, Sylvie made her way to meet him. She met him outside his office, with Lana.
A bile feeling crept into her throat.
Lana was fixing his tie, and when she noticed Sylvie, she said something funny to him and kissed him.
Sylvie looked away, already contemplating walking away.
"Please, no matter what you do, don't forget our plans for tomorrow. We need to pick out the cake so she can start working on it already. You know I told you I wanted something exquisite." Lana was speaking, but Kage was hardly looking at her. His gaze flitted to Sylvie who had long been looking away.
"Okay?" Lana drew back his attention, her hand still on his thigh.
Holding her hands, he lowered them from his tie. "We'll talk later, thee was dismissal in his tone.
Lana frowned at it.
"Okay, then," she walked away, not forgetting to smirk at Sylvie, of course.
A lull fell between Sylvie and Kage. Angling his head, he went into the office. Sylvie followed.
"Maybe, next time, you should ensure you're not in family mood before asking me to come over. I hate it when I interrupt couple's moments, you know?" Sylvie said, trying to clear the uneasiness in her chest.
Tut wasn't planned, Kage mumbled, opening a file.
She rolled her eyes. As she looked at him, for a moment, she felt hurt.
A part of her wished she could tell him his babies were being threatened. But what if he doesn't care! The guy was crazy
For a moment, they we're both silent with Kage seeming busy.
You sent for me, Kage. That's the reason I'm here," she was trying so hard to hide her annoyance.
"Yeah, right. I need you to get ready. You and I have someone to go... right now,"
God, not again. "Why? Who are we meeting with?"
"The local government. I'll need to go myself to get the building permit."
Okay, now he couldn't be serious. "And what has that got to do with me, Kage? I'm not in your One Trillion Group or anything
"But your little boyfriend is the reason I have to get my ass out of here to get things done."
She scoffed, batting her lashes. "Don't tell me you want me to pay for what you did. Look, I'm not getting involved in this?
"But unfortunately, bitter heart, you're very much involved. You got involved the moment yo asked me about the land. I just need someone or pay for it, and fortunately, you fit the description."
He went back to flipping his files.
Sylvie glared hard at him. "You're not even serious."
She turned away but we stopped at the door.
"I'm damın serious, Sylvie," his voice was cold and harsh now. She stopped at the door. "Get ready. In thirty minutes, we're leaving. He dismissed, lowering his gaze to what he had u front of him. Sylvie huffer and left. She hated how unchallengeable he could be at times. Most of the time.
Against her will, she left for the meeting gruh him.
He met with the local government, and Sylvie found it amazing how easily he had been able to get the approval with his presence.
A lot of them were swooning over him and kept talking about how they've been looking to do business with him.
Sylvie wouldn't deny feeling impressed. He might be a jerk, but man was a force of nature out there.
When they are done and on their way out, Kage bumped into someone. It was a young man, holding a cup of tea and trying to
into the room. He was in a hurry and hadn't seen Kage. The tea ended up spilling, but only a little spilled on Kage's Rolex step watch.
It was ginger tea, the smell irritated Sylvic.
"Goodness! I am so sorry! So sorry, sir! What have I done!?" The young man was alarmed.

If you ask me, I'd say you need to work on your stuff. Some of them, him for example, is a little blind."
He tossed the watch to the floor.
"Um would you want us to clean it up for you?" A woman asked.
Kage scrunched his nose in disgust. "Id throw up if I have to touch that again." He walked away.
Sylvie's
sjaw dropped. Did this son of a gun just toss a Rolex watch simply because someone spilled tea on it? That watch was
worth millions of dollars! Kage was crazy.
She ran after him.
